Alexandros, budding hero of Epirus and spiritual successor of Achilles himself, thrust his spear through a bundle of leaves with a mock war-cry. He lifted the weapon high, crinkled brown detritus falling from the head and scattering across the shoulders of his bronze armour. Holding the long weapon firmly in his right hand he thrust the butt into the earth and used the shaft as a hiking stick as he climbed up a small rocky hillside. With his other hand encumbered by his Aspis Shield climbing could be somewhat difficult, and even in the relatively cool hours leading towards dusk the heat under his helmet made it tough going. Still, Alexandros was a hero, and heroes had to suffer hardship every once in a while. With a youthful enthusiasm that seemed undaunted by the task at hand, the young warrior trudged on. He’d found perhaps the highest point in the Gorge to climb, a short hill a half mile from the river which meandered through the area. From there he hoped to spot any signs of smoke or fire, which would reveal to him the location of a bandit camp stowed away in the forested Gorge.

The hill was only sparsely populated with mostly bare trees, but great piles of leaves had accumulated, hence his choice of playful target for a bit of spear practice. The strong young hero bounced up the last few feet with a sudden burst of energy and reached the top, letting out a brief sigh of relief. Climbing up hills in armour was never pleasant, not even for a hero. He span on his heel and plonked himself down, arranging the short-sword at his side and stabbing his spear into the ground with its butt-spike. Before him a fair view had developed, as he could see over the tops of the trees spread before him and spot the river beyond, glistening in the fading sunlight. With a casual disregard for a sight he had seen many times before, Alexandros allowed himself to sink into the soft grass and closed his eyes a moment.

“Well. It would be best if I were to get to work.” He decided finally, sitting up with a start and looking all around, he stood with an exhale of breath and picked up his spear, looking out over the tree-line for signs of cooking fires.

“Now where might you be?”
The setting is Ancient Greece, specifically the region of Epirus. The young hero known as Aegis has been hired by a local village to look into the deaths of a number of merchantmen who have traveled through Vikos Gorge. Supplies in the village are running low, and they fear barbarians or bandits have taken residence in the Gorge and are strangling the village of deliveries.

I've got it, the Wayward Fragment of Wrath.

The sheet will be up in a few hours, The Fragment is actually component to a much more powerful character who is multiple entities. The Wayward Fragment is separated from the rest of the network, and is significantly mutated and weaker than the rest. You'll find it interesting, I'm sure.

Alright, I'll wait and see the sheet.
Hmm, pick something you think suits the character. If you look he hasn't got much going for him past the average movie hero, and with far less firepower. Someone like Sukoh would be nearly impervious to anything he could use just because of how big he is.
Well, as I mentioned a mythological theme would be better, which is why I'm somewhat hesitant to accept Doc's flying xenomorph.
It would probably be a losing battle, but if your character is just testing my own and not outright trying to murder him it might still be entertaining.

His backstory feels like something out of an Eddings novel, coincidence?

I'll think it over anyway, but it might be fun. Though I'd have preferred a more beast/monster like opponent.
Hmm, anybody got any monster characters they'd like to try out? Anything based around ancient mythology would be perfect, but any kind of 'monster' would probably do. Want to try out Aegis, unranked of course as the season's over. You can check him out here, I'd prefer to face off against a mostly biological/physical enemy, maybe with some slight powers but nothing overt, and at least somewhat within Aegis' level. (AKA conceivable for a human hero to kill, if lucky or skilled enough.)

I'd usually ask Khan (and probably lose, as Khan's monsters tend to be pretty O.P) but they're A.W.O.L/Busy at the moment.

Character is here.

You are sticking the sword through the mesh only correct? Nothing else but the plasma sword?

Nothing else, just the blade, which can't even really be called a sword (as it has a telekinetic handle, rather than a real one)
Fury bristled as his foe spoke to him, though to the man his words had one meaning, to the Dreamer they had another. Skallagrim was worthy of the Ascended’s ire, more specifically the hatred of Kaelin, all which had passed before had led to this. The Void had been destroyed in its infancy, but from the ashes The Fury was born, and it would achieve Kaelin’s ultimate goal, the death of the Dreamer. To Fury, Skallagrim seemed to be speaking with something beyond him, for a moment his thoughts flashed to the Void, a presence he knew only too well. There was something off though, and it unsettled him a moment, causing him to momentarily pause, the plasma writhing in his grip before him as the changes overcame the planet. The Fireen knew a moment of doubt, and the Void raged within him straining to throttle the life from the Dreamer, how it dared fight his vessel with mere words it could not guess.

“What are you talking about? This is between you and me Skallagrim, you took everything from me!” Fury roared out his defiance, his mind re-asserting what it knew above that which it was starting to guess. With this re-affirmation of his belief came with it a strength of purpose that flooded his system, with the only emotion the Void could fully understand. Fury.

There was some form of energy lattice-work between him and his enemy, but it would matter not. As the plasma writhed in its telekentic prison he fed it with stolen power stored within the World Machine, causing it to glow painfully before his eyes. While Skallagrim worked on the macro-scale, Fury’s concentration on the micro could grant him an edge. One he planned to use in that frontal fashion which was characteristic of the Fireen.

He burst forward, energy induced flight driving him towards the mesh as he thrust his right arm forward, the effect of which saw the blade come about in something akin to a long sword lunge. The blade would easily pierce the lattice-work, bringing him to a momentary halt as he observed the effect his attack had upon Skallagrim’s designs. If he broke through, it would only be a matter of moments before he was upon the Dreamer himself.
