@Divinity It sounds like your old forum might have taken city and street level a little too literally. The thing with Corban is that while he lacks one outright devastating city level skill set he has about seven vastly different street level skill sets that he can pull out at will.
There aren't eight, there are ten. This setting bans demi-gods and gods, essentially, so T9-10 are out. Like I said, it was the old system, but I still use it because it's a little less ambiguous. There's also unpowered, low powered, mid powered, high powered, god tier, with space in between. Point being, T7-T8 is high powered, capable of destroying cities and sponging damage of similar proportion, basically army destroyers.

To be honest, I've read Alex's sheet, still have no fucking idea what he can actually do. He literally has a power-suit with no mention of its mechanical strength. You ShinRa guys are awfully vague in regards to your power-sets.

If being competitive is a matter of adding more numbers to your profile and/or going Super Saiyan then I wouldn't say they're overpowered. They may be out of scale for a given situation but terms like OP imply there's something inherently wrong with the character which isn't the case. She just needs to find someone who can keep up with her.

This RP allows for a range of characters, between T1 and T8 by my reckoning of the old system. So far, the majority of characters have sat between T3-T6 which is fairly average and standard. Corban and Blythe are both solid T7-8's and therefore quite objectively -overpowered- as in significantly stronger than the average character submission. Do stronger characters exist in the fragments of people's minds and other settings, sure, but within the boundaries of this setting they are literally some of the strongest characters you can actually enter.

Therefore, they are going to be hard to find fights with, for varying reasons but mostly because they're overpowered in this setting, due to the average character submission.

The ironic thing is that the two strongest characters probably couldn't even fight eachother, for the reasons I mentioned earlier, it would require Divinity to no-sell, because Corban lacks the tankiness required to actually weather one of Blythe's attacks, where-as Blythe can both tank and regenerate his.

Point being, Blythe is cool and all, but considering we're barely getting anywhere as is entering this setting with the strongest possible character probably isn't going to get you a fight anytime soon.

In regards to other things, I noticed Xiomara has a blanket immunity to the weather, which is technically not allowed in Arena but also hilarious. What does being immune to the weather entail? Immunity to being struck by lightning?
@Melonhead,

So, I read up a bit; not a whole lot is new, save that usually I've ended up in fights with t1 RM/UM against T1 PC, or the other way around. That's definitely a good system to show some of my mentees sometime, for sure, it has good detail and good information.

So with that in mind, We could do a uh, T1 MP/PC, just nothing god-tier of course, and feel free to utilize logical interrupts/hypotheticals in the fight as much as you want.

I have one or two characters in mind, and we'll have it set to non-lethal, with the idea being that the whole trying to butcher eachother is merely taking place within an illusion, a really bad lucid dream or whatever.

Also, if you have an alternate form of communication, let me know as I'm not on the website during all hours of the day, and perhaps we could get something going there so I can keep in touch during this whole thing. Skype, Discord, Curse, TS, etc.

~Kasus.

I'd rather not have it all be a dream, just pull your punches a little. If you launch a move that is a clear killing blow and then stop at the last second I'll surrender, if your character uses a sword or w/e. Mine uses rocks and basically a big club, so accidentally murdering people isn't a huge concern. I will be using logical interrupts, they're basically 80% of my fighting repertoire.

I don't really have any other reliable form of communication, we'll just have to make do with the site as much as possible. Let me know when you have a character selected around John's power level.

Also, if you [@Mention] me I'll be more likely to spot things.

Story-wise my character is about to be thrust into another dimension anyway, so he can come to you if your character doesn't sit in his time-zone, which is likely.
I was wondering, where exactly do we go from here? Are we going to be sorted into a team, or can we make our own way onto the start site or w/e?
@Starfall
Benny works by creating a facsimile of the power.

Sometimes this is ridiculously strong. Example. Fury's energy powers, sans the lunacy.

I think Fury would actually break a copy-cats abilities, he has a very strange power-set. Naturally, the Fireen have an ability called Antireen control, which is basically the ability to convert an internal energy source into external effects. However, though Fury has always had the potential to do everything he can do, he has never had a great enough internal energy source to do it (nor the knowledge). His energy comes from the Void, the evil monster-spirit thing fused with his body. Would a copy-cat try and replicate the Void so that they could use Fury's powers, or would they make-do with their own energy source or clone Fury's base energy source? In theory replicating the Void is impossible, (and it would also be a terrible idea) but the alternative is to burn through your own energy to use his moves, and they're not that special really.

Also, Fury's energy drain comes from the Void.

It's hard to say exactly what a copy-cat could steal from him.
@MelonHead

Joking aside the only time I feel a character deserves to be called OP is when you have to start including specific caveats in your skillset to avoid dying to them the instant they appear. Everything else is a matter of scale and skill to me. That said I'm a huge fan of Blythe and I've been nagging Nega to dance with her for a while.

Being overpowered is contextual, pure and simple. In this context, someone who can't be physically overpowered, regenerates, has a super-suit and what basically equates to a hulk form, is overpowered. Blythe is literally the definition of a character you need specific caveats in your skillset to avoid dying to the instant they appear, her physicality is such that only a pure tank character can survive a single direct blow from her. I mean, she's not that great at range, but it's not exactly like she is slow either.

It's not a problem being overpowered, it just means you'll have difficulty finding a fight. Imagine if Liu had to fight Blythe? What could he do exactly? Lol.

I prefer to call them, "extra-dimensional beings".

I think what we need is a wall, we'll get the aliens to build it, keep em in space and out of Earth.

Make Earth great again
@NeutralNexus Any ETA on that PM? I think we're almost done and I'm planning bigger and more evil things. With all the badasses joining the heroes we're definitely going to need to out-think them and out-evil them at the very least.
Seems like everyone's a space alien these days...
