In case you missed that, I meant to say that Gaath usually doesn't leave only the skeleton, but mostly spot-melts people, often going for their faces or throats (in case it wasn't clear, either, the ability requires Gaath to remain in physical contact with the body for the full duration of the melting (the solvent is potent, but neutralizes quickly), so he would have to stick around the dead body for half an hour in order to leave nothing but the skeleton). So any victim Ixion found would probably not have been reduced to a skeleton, but just have its face and/or throat melted, and possibly some other unprotected spots that Gaath happened to melt during the struggle previous to the murder.

Eh, going back further than four months is possible, too, though I'll still need the time from which the rumor originated so that I can determine where Gaath was at the time. (If it goes back more than nine months chances are significantly smaller that Ixion heard anything, since Gaath was out of Rodoria for three years before then. If one goes further than five years back, he wouldn't have had the ability to melt people yet, so that's as far back as it can possibly go.)

Ah, that makes a lot of sense. Thank you for the clear up.

As for the rumours, I was thinking that Ixion would have started to hear the rumours of Gaath at 4 months but the range of stories could be from 3 months ago to about 2 weeks ago, depending on the travel time for these rumours.

Ah, Gaath doesn't actually melt people completely into puddles; that particular ability works by having its wielder being capable of exuding a very potent solvent that is mainly effective against skin, hair and flesh, but not very effective on bone. Not only would the dissolving of an entire person probably take him some thirty minutes, making it much too dangerous to stick around that long in most cases, but the skeleton (and various inorganic possessions) would remain mostly intact. Interestingly it is less frequently the melting itself that kills with this ability, but rather the noxious fumes resulting from the solvent reacting to the victim's skin and flesh that ends up choking the person to death or poisoning them... that, or an artery or air-pipe being dissolved.
I don't think Ixion should have actually seen Gaath, though... both because Gaath was pretty notable to look at even if he's not doing anything a month ago - his immortal blood being quite evident from his appearance - and since Ixion would probably have witnessed Gaath using some of his other abilities too, then. And of course the fact that Gaath didn't usually go near larger populated areas like the cities due to his aforementioned unusual appearance.

But a month ago, yeah... around that time he should have been in southwestern Gilmah, I think. Four months ago he did have his melting-ability, but if Ixion heard of him from back then, he would have been in... in northern Wenal, actually, near the Savage Woods.

Ah, so it's that kind of melting/dissolving that Gaath uses. If that is the case, the skeleton would be what was left when Ixion encounters the remains, so seeing the demonspawn himself would be less likely in that case. I can work with that.

As for the location of Gaath 4 months ago, word does travel far so the time when Ixion first hears the rumours of a being capable of melting someone could be older than 4 months via an odd traveler during his journey.

@Yoshua171, @Mercinus3 - does anyone want to go first in particular?

I'll be first as Ixion still has a few things to respond to.

M3
I was initially thinking around the 1 month mark while he was on another contract being the most recent that he has seen/heard of something Gaath had done. I was thinking about him hearing about a being capable of melting people on the various contracts that he took for the past 4 months but he dismissed them until either seeing the aftermath (seeing the puddle of a former person) or witnessing Gaath melting someone while on the contract in question, though I'm still unsure about the possibility of the person in question being the person he was targeting. In that case, a location of where Gaath was would help him recant that story to the deo'iel.

M3
Hey Jack. Before I write a post in the IC, I want to run a possibility that Ixion has heard of various crimes that Gaath has done and having seen the result of what the demonspawn did. How much of Gaath's movements could I use for the post?

M3
Rhae, do you fancy posting before me? Just want to make sure you're up to date with Morgan's responses before I post Ixion's.

The assassin noticed the vampire had stiffen up when they noticed the two figures in the corner of the room. Apart from that observation as well as the long sigh, the vampire did not do much once the deo’iel reached the group. Instead, he looked at the penin as he turned to the new arrivals. He didn’t really notice I’on’s eyes darting towards him, but he did notice his arm being touched by the penin. Ixion understood what the gesture meant, but the two beings still made him uneasy, keeping his guard up throughout. “I'm sure it won't be at all troublesome. Though, I must say we've had a long day so I'd at least hope to keep things brief, if that is at all possible.” The assassin fully understood the meaning behind the words as he was in no position to confront anyone either.

As the two deo’iel started to speak, he took note on the look of their eyes. He could note the one with the blue hair’s brow trembling, her eyes indicating that she was suffering. The cloaked one, however, glared at him. He could feel the malice that was behind that glare as she retorted. He noted that the two had a very similar voice apart from a slight differences; the blue haired one having a lisp and the cloaked one having a click that seemed to be timed with her jaws. Her companion tried to console her.

Finally, the blue haired deo’iel looked to the group and began to recant their reasons of being here: they were looking for a demonspawn that had been killing many people, which just so happened that some of those people had been deo’iel, and were tasked to stop them at any cost. The assassin turned his head slightly in thought, his mind sifting through the past five months. He did admit that he had travelled a lot due to various contracts that helped with his one with the Grand Master. He had to admit that there were a lot of extraordinary things that he had either briefly seen or have heard during that time, but that wouldn’t help with their request. He would have to ask them about some of their target’s modus operandi , though a few names that this person had been called would help as well. He turned to the two deo’iel. “Forgive me for the ‘accusatory’ questions,” he started. “As you can see, I am not in the best of conditions after an ordeal that we faced on this day. As for what you are asking, I may have briefly seen or heard of such an individual during my travels, which are a part of my job. What is this demonspawn’s name? If you don’t know the name, how did this individual kill these people?”

The assassin watched as the penin thanked the guards for their assistance and began to walk to the innkeeper. He had kept in mind that the vampire had stirred on the way to the inn, meaning that the vampire was soon to be awake. If the man held any grudges for the events that led him to be unconscious, this would be bad on him. Ixion would have to soften the blow to his waking companion, giving him the reasons for the action that he had done. If the vampire was open to reason, the quick instinct to keep the guards alive would, perhaps, have saved the trio. But until the vampire would be able to stand on his feet, Ixion would have to carry him to the room.

After a brief moment, I’on turned to him to ask about how long they wish to stay in the inn for. The assassin tilted his head slightly, indication that he was thinking the same thing as well. He then looked up the penin. “I should think that five days would suffice. I still need to conclude some business that I was doing before I was… incapacitated. It would also give me a chance to get some replacement armour, seeing that I will be needing it again once I am able to leave the city.” Right when he was finishing his answer, the vampire had managed to stir enough that he wanted to be back on his own two feet. He complied with the request, gently getting the vampire back onto his feet. He kept his right hand close by just in case they stumbled, but the staff seemed to be a suitable crutch to keep him where he is at.

The innkeeper mentioned the price to I’on for the room per night. It sounded expensive, but then again, he is currently low on money to pay for the room at the moment. However, as soon as the money has been said, the normal question about anything else that they would like was replaced with the notion that someone wanted to speak to them. The innkeeper indicated to the two figures in the corner, who were already starting to stand up. The one that was shrouded in mystery revealed that they were leaning on a cane, which indicated in the assassin’s mind that the person was of an older age. While the innkeeper reassured the trio that they were not a threat, Ixion still mentally prepared himself for the possibility of them being hostile towards them.

In his mind, Ixion was still sizing up the two deo’iel in terms of the threat that they give. Both of them seemed to be frightening the patrons as they steered clear of the duo. He still concluded after every scenario in his mind was run that the woman with blue hair wasn’t too much of a problem. Yet despite all of that, he is still unsure about the hidden figure, despite indicating that they were hindered in motion by the combination of the cane and the screeching sound that came with every step towards them. When the woman was three feet away from the vampire, who was the closest to the duo, she hailed them and wanted to know if they would like to answer a few questions. The assassin took a step closer towards her, grey eyes looking back into her mirrored eyes. “That would entirely depend on the questions. What is the purpose of the questions? And how would our answers benefit your ‘Order’?” The mental image of the inn was still his mind, yet his hands remain relaxed. He didn’t want to give away any hints of hostility towards them in case they attacked. He certainly don’t want to give them a reason to start yet another fight in close quarters.
That's fine, yoshua. I was planning on going next as Ixion has to respond to Morgan waking up.

Name:
Kayla Mason

Alias:
Fletch

Age:
29

Appearance:
Kayla has a diamond-shaped face, he face evenly tanned except for a few faint tan lines across the bridge of her nose and from the corner of her eyes to the tops of her ears. Her eyes are upturned in shape, with her irises a light shade of green. Her nose is small and snub in shape, complementing her downward-turned lips. She has a few freckles in the area where her cheek bones are, which are slightly present. Her ears are medium in size, her right ear pierced twice in the detached lobes and a bar through the top while her left ear only has one piercing in her ear. Finally, her head is topped with shoulder-length straight dark blonde hair that is often kept in a ponytail kept behind.

She stands at a height of 5’6” and a little less than 65kg. She has a straight body shape that is shaped for an athlete. She has a falcon tattooed on her shoulders, the wing tips on the corner where her collar bone and shoulder joint meet. The tattoo is marred by only one scar on the left wing, which looks like it came from a bullet wound that also appears on her left chest at around the same height. Her body is covered in various scars, ranging from neat scars that came from knives to thick scars on her sides that came from bullets. There is also a scar from a bullet wound on the side of her left leg. During the day time, she has two typical styles of clothing; one of them is her mechanics outfit, a slate grey blue overall with the garage logo, a black strip with a sewn yellow ‘Turner’s Garage’ emblazoned on it, on her left side of her chest. The other is her general leisure clothing; slightly ripped bootcut jeans that are faded black in colour; shirts that are slightly loose over the top half of her body; a sports watch; running trainers of different shades of black, grey and white; and white-framed sports glasses with a smoky grey lens.

During the night, however, she has a complete makeover. While she does wear sport sunglasses, they are black framed with orange lenses that allow her to see better during the night due to the anti-reflection coating that she has (enough to allow for more than 80% of light to go through the lens). She wears black gloves with orange straps, though the gloves are different, with the right glove being considerably longer than the one on her left. She wears jet-black tactical trousers which are reinforced with leather, the various pockets holding things from a small medkit in the lower left pocket and various distraction explosives in the right. She wears black savate shoes with a singular orange stripe going from the area of the sole in line with the tongue of the footwear in an arc across the heel. She has an orange damage-resistant plastic with foam on the inside strapped to the lower-right trouser legs, held on by three black buckled straps as to not fall off. Her top is also black with hardened black leather so it is a little more resistive in close quarters combat. An orange strap goes across from her right shoulder to under her left arm, which she holds a black leather quiver. A small camera is attached to the right side of her shirt, clipped securely on the orange strap. The lower half of her face is covered by a black neck warmer covering up to her ears while her hair is mostly kept back in a ponytail, with her fringe trailing towards the left of her face and held down by a black and orange bandana, which is tied as a strip instead of covering the top of her head.

Occupation: Mechanic/semi-professional archer

Personality:
Kayla is usually reserved in nature, keeping to herself in the general public to a point where those who are relatively close to her think that she is scared of the strangers she walks with. Regardless of walking in the city, if a stranger talks to her while she is working in the garage, she is polite to them to give off a sense of good interpersonal skills. However, if she is in a social setting, she is usually relaxed and cheerful, knowing that she is in the company of good people that she can trust. That personality, however, changes dramatically when she is being a vigilante. She is ruthless, calculating and, at times, callous. Transitioning from her normal self is as easy as a flick of a switch. Transitioning back, however, something completely different happens.

History:
Kayla was born in Palm Springs, CA, but with her father being stationed to another air base, her family moved to the outer suburbs of Carcer City. From there, despite the city’s harsh reputation, her own development as a person grew until the point that she got accepted onto a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering at Caltech, where she completed it with Honours. This had been majorly funded by a scholarship from USA Archery, where she had been a competing recurve archer since she was shy of 7 years old. She was nearly on the verge of shooting for the country at the World Cup when she was 24, working part time at Turner's Garage to fund for her sport. However, due to a horrific accident on the eve of being selected, plus the prospective chance of being a part of a global avionics company, had sent all her dreams and aspirations crashing in flames. After a 10 month road to recovery and a further 2 months of consultation, she was informed that she was unable to compete in archery with a recurve bow and that she would need to do some form of exercise to get her shoulder muscle to fully recover. With her love for archery still burning inside of her, she changed her bow style to compound, which she had been practicing casually since she was 17, and took up a trainer in savant to help with her shoulder.

She didn’t think about the idea of the vigilante Fletch seriously until a year after her accident. She witnessed a group of men mugging a single mother and tried to fend them off, though she quickly got beaten up herself. Feeling that with all the cops turning a blind eye to the vile things that the criminals have done, she had enough and decided to do something about it. With months of planning on what she wanted to be and creating the inventory that she needed to achieve her goal. Once ready, she began initially patrolling a neighbourhood adjacent to the area she had lived in and started off fighting small crime, leaving the unconscious criminals at the precinct’s doorsteps with video recordings. However, as things didn’t improve much over time, with the majority of the criminals being released the day after, she decided on more drastic measures. One day, the corrupt cops saw the limp bodies of their second pay rolls dumped on the doorstep with the message “Corruption will end by my hand” attached to one of them by an arrow. This had gotten onto the city news, more of a wakeup call to the rest of the corrupt police that have heard such gossip of a vigilante.

Skills & Traits:
-Parkour: During the years of her being a vigilante, her confidence in traversing the city landscape grows enough to allow her to navigate up to rooftops and across them with ease.
-Archery: Having been an archer for over 20 years, she has an understanding in the care of her bow and is able to shoot at any distance and shoot with near-precise accuracy. If her sight is out of range of her target, she is able to estimate the distance and shoot the distance, often with good enough accuracy to injure the target.
-Mechanical and Electrical Aptitude: Combining her trade as a mechanic and her knowledge in electronics from her degree, she is able to understand a few systems. However, she is more suited in manufacturing systems that aids her in her night time antics.
-Close quarter combat: While she is not as great in this field as her archery, she has 3-4 years of experience in savate that enables her to hold out on her own against a few criminals. Any more than that and she is in trouble.
-Photographic Memory: She is very good at remembering a lot of things. This especially comes in handy when she needs to remember what her last gadget arrow tip was and what position in the cycle of gadgets that is in in order for her to get to the needed gadget tip without a problem.

Resources:
-Bow: Her bow is similar in style to a Bowtech Carbon Knight compound bow, with the red being replaced by orange, with a full draw weight and length of 60lbs and 27” respectively. Her bow is fitted with a hunting compound scope that has seven pins inside it, one pin for every distance from 20ft in increments of 20ft. The bow is silenced with a short, black hunting stabilizer that allows for more energy to go into the arrow.

-Gloves: Her gloves are customized for her so that she is optimized for her compound bow. For both cases, the knuckles are covered with a combination of hardened leather and Kevlar so her knuckles are more resistant to damage when punching.

--Left Glove: Her left, fingerless glove stretches from her knuckles to her elbow. There is a broad strip (inch in width by 3mm in thickness) of hardened leather that runs from her wrist to just short of her elbow joint to protect her arm from the bow string. There is a thick string that comes from the index finger that has a loop in the end of it big enough for her thumb to fit through. On the back of the glove is a mechanism that allows for cables from her grappling arrows to run through just in case she needs to scale very large buildings quickly.

--Right Glove: Her right fingerless glove, on the other hand, only reaches to an inch up her forearm. Running between the heels of her palm there is a cord with a release mechanism attached onto the end of it. This allows her to hold the string of her compound bow without the string slipping unless she is ready to release the strong, in which case the springs inside the release mechanism are triggered from the tension in the string. There is a wireless transmitter sewn in the sleeve of her index finger, where the three buttons

-Arrows: Her arrows are separated into two groups: one group that fit in her leg quiver and one in her back quiver. Both sets of arrows are a carbon fiber-aluminium composite arrows that allow for them to fly quickly from the bow. Both sets are fletched with black and orange feather vanes with an orange nocking point that has a small LED embedded in them so that she can retrieve her arrows to make her appearance in a crime scene non-existent.

--Leg Quiver: Her leg quiver arrows are fitted with a standard broadhead tip with a slight serration in the blade tips. Kayla has more of these arrows as these are the go-to arrows for nearly all situations.

--Back Quiver: These arrows are designed to not have tips on them when they go into the quiver. Each arrow is fitted to have a 200m steel cable that has a gauge thick enough so the cable is capable of holding her own weight. However, depending on what arrow is required, the tips are added via the quiver (see next resource) so that they can be fitted to create one of 5 arrows; Grappling arrow, allowing her to scale the building and rigged with explosives to destroy all but the tip of the arrow so the cable is released; Fragmentation arrow, capable of exploding upon impact; Incendiary arrow, two liquids combine and splash across a surface to cause a fire on the target that splashes at a radius of 3m; Tranquilizer arrow, this tip is fitted with a tranquilizer to incapacitate the target; and Disruptor arrow, an arrow tip that works either by allowing her to hack into systems through the handheld device she carries with her or emits an EMP, disrupting electrical systems.

-Quivers: She has two quivers, as previously discussed:

--Leg Quiver: The quiver on her right leg has a magnet in the bottom of it that is strong enough to keep the arrow in place through kicking, but weak enough so that she is able to draw an arrow out to use. It is also filled with a loose foam that plays a similar role. It is big enough to allow for 24 arrows to be held at one time.

--Back Quiver: Her back quiver is circular in shape at the bottom with the gap where the arrows come out being more elliptical. Each arrow is held to one side of the quiver, with a small mechanism that a) has a magnet that keeps the arrows in place and b) has an auto-release mechanism near one wall that opens so that there is always one arrow on the other side. The half where the 12 arrows are held is flat at the bottom, whereas the other half is funneled towards the bottom. The end is where there is a rotary mechanism which contains the 5 arrow tips, each tip possible in having a maximum of 5 tips to add to the shafts. A small arm pushes these tips out so that the tips are close to where the shaft is. Then, a high-heat component of the quiver melts the glue to add the tips to the shafts before rapid cooling the glue to allow for immediate use, where the hole is then mechanically opens up so that the arrow can then be drawn from the quiver.

-Various throwable objects: Inside her lower right pocket of her tactical trousers, she has a dozen of smoke grenades and flashbangs in total, split evenly. She created these herself through trial and error and only uses these if she needs to make an escape from sticky situations.

-Small first aid kit: She has a first aid kit of bandages and dressings in her lower left pocket of her tactical trousers just in case she needs to treat light wounds of herself or the person she is protecting. She replaces the used items at various pharmaceutical stores in the city as to not raise suspicion.

-Motorbike: She has a jet black Ducati 1098s motorbike that has ‘Twister’ written underneath both handles in orange. The handles have a biometric sensor that only recognises her fingerprints and self-cleans so that no one can lift her fingerprints off of them.

Relationships:
She doesn't have any SOs or any connections with any official or law enforcement.
