An Unfortunate Young Man

Name: Orren Daily
Alias: That guy who always spells your name wrong at the coffee shop
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Alliance: He's a citizen, but a good citizen

Powers: None that he knows of.

Other: He works at a local coffee shop called "Hallowed Grounds". The names is more a pun and the shop has no religious ties.

Personality: Orren does his best to be the average Joe. He goes to work, goes home, eats, sleeps, repeats. His childhood wasn't a very fun one, leaving him a bit shy and unsociable. He gets along with others pretty well, and is generally accepted as a nice guy, but he doesn't go out of his way to make friends.

Appearance: He's kept himself in decent shape. Orren visits the gym about twice a week and enjoys jogging. He stands at 5'8", an average height and mildly muscular build, and has fair skin with a freckled face. His dark brown hair is often messily combed. Orren has dark brown eyes. Overall, he could be called attractive.

History: Oddly enough, Orren doesn't remember much of his own past. He knows he was in a foster home as a young child, and then in and out of the hospital as he got a little older due to health related conditions. He experienced some mental outbursts as an older child, around 10 or 11, and words like early onset schizophrenia were thrown around.

After one particularly bad episode, Orren was admitted to a mental hospital. He was treated there for two months before being released, having been prescribed antipsychotics for his condition. He's not sure if this 'condition' was ever explicitly named. Orren's medical files have since been misplaced, and he hates going to the doctor. So, for the most part, he just lays low, takes his medicine, and doesn't worry too much about it. Everything seems fine now.

A Troubling Rapscallion

Name: Unknown
Alias: Mindraker, named by those who have encountered him.
Age: Unknown
Gender: Male
Alliance: His morality and motives are unclear. He seems to do as he pleases, whether it's illegal or not. Could probably be considered a badguy due to this.

Powers: Mindraker seems to possess some kind of ability over the human mind. He has been reported to daze those who see him, make people forget that he was even there. Any attempts at his arrest have ended in the police officers wandering the area, confused on what they were supposed to be doing. He doesn't seem to be able to control people's minds, but he can certainly change the state of mind they were in before they came across him.

Personality: Not much is known about the mysterious fiend. He doesn't seem particularly evil. He certainly doesn't burn down orphanages or rob banks. But the things he's been caught doing have been pretty sketchy. Sneaking around government facilities, breaking into city buildings, or even people's homes. One thing is for sure: he's not a guy you would want to meet in a dark alley.

Appearance: He's an average height and skinny build, but what he looks like unmasked is unknown. Race, age, and technically even gender have never been revealed. He wears a dark grey hoodie and a burlap mask with black eyes cut out.

History: The Mindraker was first written about in a small blurb in a newspaper a few years ago. It was mentioned that a man in a mask broke into a college professor's house and ransacked the place before the police arrived. The professor was found, unharmed, wandering in his backyard. Apparently, he didn't remember calling the police, or why he was in the yard to begin with. A neighbor's security camera caught the culprit sneaking into an unlatched window.

Since then, the mysterious figure has been behind several break ins around the city. What it is that he's trying to accomplish is still unknown.

Not a Law Abiding Citizen

Name: Unknown
Alias: Black Mask, named by witnesses
Age: Unknown
Gender: Male
Alliance: He seems to work closely with Mindraker, but his motives are just as mysterious.

Powers: Teleportation. On security feeds, the figure in a black mask will just disappear. No witnesses have ever seen him do this in person, but it is assumed that he is a teleporter. He can disappear on one side of a wall and reappear on the other, or even "jump" from one location to another. Since no one can get him to talk, the limits are unknown. However, he doesn't seem to be able to port to places he hasn't been to before.

Personality: If Mindraker was the brains behind the operation, then Black Mask would be the brawn. He is much more willing to physically attack those he sees a threat. Although he never speaks, he often seems angry and hostile. Like Raker, his motives are unknown and he rarely appears during the day.

Appearance: His signature feature is the blank, black, 2.99 costume store mask he wears. It doesn't have any details other than being a smooth face with cut out eyeholes. He is most often seen wearing a black sweatshirt and black pants, but can occasionally be seen in other street clothes, though nothing really defining.

History: He first appeared on the news a few months after Mindraker began his string of break ins. The two often work together, but Black Mask is never seen working alone, unlike Raker who occasionally does things on his own. Mask is wanted in several trespassing cases, although break ins are very hard to prove when he's around. He usually just teleports himself and his cohort inside.

He has assaulted several security guards, and has a few warrants out for his arrest. However, arresting a man whose identity is unknown is fairly difficult.

2: This RP is a sandbox style superhero affair. You can make plots of your own and propel the story. That said, only literate writers need apply. I'm counting on your characters to make this RP work.

3: If you would like your character to have a secret backstory, it must be PMed to me for approval.

4: Characters must be 17+

5: Forms must include: Name, alias, alliance (hero or villain) age, gender, personality, powers, history unless permitted otherwise

6: There may only be 5 non-heroes to start out with. This does not include my own characters, and the number may go up as more people join.

All of you guys' ideas are fine, however, after a certain amount of non-heroes I'm gonna have to cut you off. After all, a superhero RP needs to have a fairly good amount of supetheroes.

I'll have the IC up soon. Don't expect anything fancy; I think we all know what a superhero RP is :P

Sandbox superhero?

I've got a craving for a good ol' sandbox superhero/city RP. The vibe I want is a more relaxed, loose plot, character driven feel. I have ideas for a villain arc, but no one needs to feel like they HAVE to participate in it. There can be one or multiple teams, or just a handful of solo heroes. I know this type of RP doesn't typically get too far on this site, but I feel like giving it a go. Anyone interested?

Hmmm I missed that somehow. That kinda puts me on the fence, honestly. Part of the appeal, to me, was it taking place somewhere different.

Here's some idea I'm kind of playing around with.

Phasing: he can phase through solid object for the five minutes that it's active.

Teleporting: Can teleport up to four times.

Invisibility: Can appear and disappear for the five minutes it's active.

Nikita Sokolov - Rocket Squirrel

Nikita Sokolov

Age: 16

Appearance: Nikita is an average height teen aged boy with a lean, muscular build. He is an acrobat, and his slender form shows it. He is fair skinned with dark hair and hazel green eyes. Nikita's usual fashion of choice is loose fitting pants and graphic t-shirts. His family doesn't have a whole lot of money, so he can't be too picky.

Backstory: Nikita's family immigrated to France from Russian when Nikita was 10, hoping to have a better, safer life there. His parents were both well known circus performers who did high ropes, trapeze, and acrobatics for a traveling circus troop. Once moving to France, they started their own troop. They traveled around the country, earning quite the name for themselves and their circus.

However, as Nikita aged, the need to settle became more and more obvious. He desperately wanted to go to normal school and have friends that weren't circus performers. Finally, his parents decided to plant their circus in Paris as a permanent attraction, and Nikita was signed up for his first year of real school. Having only been home schooled before, he's in for a bit of a culture shock.

Nikita received his Kwami and Miraculous over the summer, soon after his parents settled into Paris. It didn't take him long to get the hang of superhero-ing. Keeping the squirrel in the bag, however, has proved a greater challenge.

Personality: He is energetic, plucky, and optimistic. Nikita finds it hard to sit still during class, and is a bit overly excitable. This being his first year of real school, he's a toxic mixture of nervous and excited. The only time he ever seems to truly focus on one thing is when he is performing on the high ropes at his family's circus. And now, whenever he's running around is a squirrel suit.

Rocket Squirrel

Appearance: Rocket Squirrel's suit is a light brown and white, colored much like the animal it's meant to represent. It comes with a pair of goggles, clawed gloved, a hood with squirrel ears, wings attached under the arms and to a harness, and of course a bushy tail.

Miraculous: A bracelet with an squirrel paw charm. He always wears it around his left wrist.

Powers:

Active:

Passive: His suit has wings that allow him to glide on wind currents. He can't truly fly, but if he starts from a high place, or if he takes a good running jump, he can become airborne.

He can climb almost any surface, except for glass, smooth marble, and anything too polished.

Weapon: A grappling hook with a closing claw on the end. Can be shot at rooftops to climb up, at villains to grab them by their arm/legs, grab items, ect.

Puxx

Appearance: Puxx appears as a small flying squirrel with a large head and fluffy tail. He is light brown and has long, white whiskers.

Personality: Puxx is much lazier and more laid back than Nikita. The tiny squirrel sprite spends most of his time sleeping in his keeper's pocket.

Favorite Food: Gum drops
