Art Commissioned from Mi-tian
Name: Unknown. For now, he's unceremoniously called "the alien".
Age: Also unknown. His mannerisms suggest him to be relatively young, perhaps comparative to a human in their twenties.
Gender: Technically also unknown. Although everyone assumes he's a male for convenience's sake, we don't really know what's going on under that all that black.
Species: Alien of some kind

Sexuality: As of right now, romance is the last thing on his mind.

Personality:
The alien is, understandably, afraid of his human captors. He's confused, doesn't speak English, and is surrounded by people he doesn't know anything about. And, to make matters worse, one of them was mind controlling him. As of right now, the alien is being kept in a safe room with the power dampeners he was found with still on. He is hostile, scared, and is off limits to students. Although the school is currently trying to reform him, he isn't exactly being cooperative. There's hushed talk among the more cynical authorities involved about making him 'disappear'. After all, he isn't protected by human rights laws.

Abilities:
Telekinesis / Shadow Manipulation

He can phase through solid objects.

He can use his control over shadows to blot out light, making a dome of darkness around himself and potential enemies.

He has telekinesis, being able to lift objects as large as a city bus with just his mind. Anything larger would cause himself injury.

He can also use this ability to levitate and fly.

The alien can produce telepathic energy tendrils with his powers, which he can use in battle to grab, crush, and strike his enemies.

He can't (or at least shouldn't be) touched with bare skin. His body temperature is so cold that it could burn the average human.

But these powers come with weaknesses. Should he strain himself past his limits, he may experience seizures, or even brain bleeds in extreme cases. While he can recover from both given his species impressive healing rate, he would be down for the count for quite a while.

Another weakness of his is the lack of shadows or darkness. While such a state can be hard to find, it can be artificially produced, as is the case at the school in an attempt to keep him under control.

Aside from these, he seems to share the same weaknesses as the average human: exposure to extreme hot/cold, traumatic injury, starvation, dehydration, suffocation, sleep deprivation, ect.

Appearance:
The alien is an interesting lifeform. If he would cooperate more, there's multiple scientists lining up to study him. However, being placed under the microscope doesn't seem like a fun Saturday night. As of right now, it's hard to see anything of the alien. His body is completely jet black, with no light reflection. Imagine an entire person coated in Vantablack. Any detail is impossible to make out. His form seems to give off a ethereal black smoke that dissolves into the air after rolling off of him. Think the smoke from dry ice, but more goth.

He is about 5'9" and has a willowy, androgynous build. This has left the scientists and doctors involved in his care to speculate that he may not be male. Or maybe he is. Who knows; gender is a social construct.

His only real discernible features are his mouth and eyes. Both glow a bright, burning red when open. Very spoopy.

The alien wears a cloak around himself that never seems to settle. It appears to be weightless, and constantly flowing as if there's a soft breeze. Aside from the cloak, it's impossible to tell if he's wearing anything else. He could be flashing you all right now. You'll never know.

History:
The alien was the culprit behind multiple break ins, robberies, and even the kidnapping of the CEO of a very wealthy company. The latter is what finally got him caught. His powers made him quite the cat burglar. Seeing as the alien was clearly not at fault, he was to be acquitted of his crimes in court like all the other 'villains', given that he cooperated. However, he doesn't seem too willing to behave. Once the mind control was lifted, the alien had no idea what was going on. He remembered committing the crimes, but not why. And now, for all he knows, he's being held indefinitely by weird pink and brown beings that want to torment him.

Notes:
He can't digest meat, can't eat gluten, and is lactose intolerant. Keeping the alien fed has been the biggest challenge. He spent much of his first week in custody sick and lethargic. Luckily, he seems to enjoy plain oatmeal, rice, and other bland grains.

Those who are around him complain that he makes the atmosphere around him bone chillingly cold. His temperature was measured at a chilling -109 degrees Fahrenheit, around the same temperature as dry ice. Touching him with bare flesh could quite literally result in frost burns. Because of this, safety gear is required before entering his holding room. Turning the heat up in the room seems to forcibly warm him up, but once it gets around 100 degrees Fahrenheit, he starts panting and showing signs of heat stroke. Interestingly enough, the cold also makes him uncomfortable. He starts shivering at around 37 degrees, meaning his hot/cold tolerance is around the same as a human's.

His body temperature seems to fluctuate, and the biologists who are currently studying him are sure that there's a pattern. Perhaps he's doing it on purpose? Maybe it's an involuntary defense mechanism?

Right now, he has power dampeners on that keep him from using his telekinesis. He can still use his shadow manipulation, which has forced the authorities to keep his holding room so brightly lit from so many angles that shadows are almost non-existent. Obviously, he's not real happy about this.
A string of crimes involving superpowered individuals rocks the city. These aren't just petty bank robberies or thefts; they include assassination attempts on political figures, random, unprovoked attacks in public spaces, resulting in multiple dead civilians, arson, and other horrific acts. This all at a time where the relationship between super powered "metas" and regular humans is already strained. These villains are just a few more acts away from getting all metas banned from the public.

Fortunately, few heroes manage to clean this evil syndicate up before it gets too ugly. The villains are imprisoned and investigated for a motive. Except, it becomes clear that these individuals aren't the ones pulling the strings, and they never were. While some remain violent and uncooperative, a couple have come around and indicated that they were all being controlled through various methods (brain washing, mind control devices, blackmail, whatever it took). The real mastermind behind the operation turns out to be a regular, evil man, his motive to frame metas in a way that would get them all shut down, heroes and all.

A few of the 'villains' are acquitted of their crimes under this revelation so long as they cooperate. However, not all of them do. A couple seem to be too volatile to release. The authorities are perfectly happy to speculate that they actually were corrupt and weren't among the controlled. The authorities believe the best way to deal with them is to have them put down like pit bulls pulled from a fighting ring: too violent to be reformed. However, a couple aren't convinced.

A couple kind souls have taken it upon themselves to personally see to it that the last two cases are saved and, maybe, even turned into heroes.
oops
So if Hero and shy are reformers

And papa and I are reformees

We should be set to go :D If everyone's okay with that, I can make us an Ooc
@shylarah: the character I'm gonna be using is actually an alien with telekinesis lol! But his powers will be dark/shadowy themed. Maybe yours could counteract that with being light themed?

@ilovepapa: Sure. Just as long as they aren't Hitler levels of evil, that should be fine :)
We'll sit on it for a bit and see if some more people hop on
Cool! Would you be interested in a small rp or just a 1x1?
I'm looking for a hero or two to help reform a reluctant villain. This RP would work well as a 3 player or small group RP as well, if enough people are interested in that.

My character (MC) is among these "villains". He is believed by the scientists and doctors involved in his care to be an extraterrestrial, and therefore not protected by human rights laws. This would make it even easier to have him "humanely euthanized" should he prove impossible to get through to, and the case isn't looking too good. He is afraid of humans (fair enough, given the circumstance), doesn't speak English, and is more than willing to attack his captors.

Your character(s) is/are in charge of overseeing his reform. They can either be fellow metas, maybe even the hero that got him locked up. Or perhaps they are government agents. Or both.

I also wouldn't be opposed to there being two reformers and two reformees if I can find enough people.
