Name: Izumo Saitou (Prefers 'Izzi' as a nickname)
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Dubious
Age: 17

Personality: Very laid back and easy going. He's patient, easy to convince, and honestly not very bright. He can occasionally be stubborn if something he's dead-set in believing is questioned, but most of the time, he'll accept whatever a person says as the truth. Because no one would lie to him, right?

Skills: He's very artistic. Izzi loves to paint, doodle, draw, ect.

Appearance: He's pretty tall, standing at 6'3". His hair is a constant mess. Izzi is constantly underweight due to one of his medications.

Other: He loves apple juice.
Him and Orren are best buddies.

History: Izzi was a foster child. His original mother put him up for adoption soon after he was born, which was probably for the best. His birth mother had no interest in having children, and took little caution while she was pregnant. She still had the occasional drink, smoked, didn't take pre-natal vitamins, and most other no-nos.

Izzi was adopted at age 9 by a couple who couldn't have children of their own. They were loving parents, but their teachings couldn't break all of the bad habits he'd already learned. Izzi was messy, unconcerned with his appearance, and irresponsible. Scolding him just went in one ear and out the other. He had poor grades in school due to constantly falling asleep in class, and by the time he reached high school, his peers could easily pressure him into doing things he shouldn't.

Izzi had his first seizure after he snuck out with friends to drink. The alcohol brought it on, causing him to collapse and convulse. His friends, afraid of getting in trouble, ran off and left him there. Izzi was later found by a good citizen and brought home. He was diagnosed with epilepsy and, later on, hypersomia. His parents were concerned, and sent him to the school with hopes that he'd find better friends and people to take care of him.
What about epilepsy?
So is mental illness allowed?

Like bipolar disorder and such?

Or does that fall too close to mental disability?

Because they aren't retarded or anything.
I don't really care for anime, but I like the concept.

Japanese culture is very different from Western culture, Alarieth. I think Metronome is trying to say that his characters won't be a realistic portrayal of the normal Japanese person, nor would he be able to emulate Japanese societal habits and such well. Even though it seems most people here don't actually care.

This is exactly what I was trying to say.
Name: Orren Sato
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight
Age: 17

Personality: Orren has a bit of a rough exterior. He's pushy, bossy, loud mouthed, and more often than not, rude. He doesn't like being babied, overprotected, or treated differently than his peers, and he doesn't mind calling people out on it. He's a rather determined fellow. He's strong willed and independent minded. As such, he doesn't follow trends and such very well.

Skills: He has tremendous upper body strength. He could probably beat most other guys at arm wrestling.

Other: He's got a foul mouth, something that often gets him in trouble with faculty.

Appearance:

History: Orren lived a fairly normal life up until his accident. He was a good kid, made good grades, did normal kid things. This changed the day him and his mother were involved in a horrific accident. They lived close enough to school to walk, and his mother had come to escort him home. As they were crossing the street a few blocks from their house, a van came barreling around the corner and hit them both. The driver, who had been shitfaced drunk, was mostly unharmed. Orren and his mother were both rushed to the nearest hospital.

Orren's mother suffered severe brain damage and later died. Orren's lumbar spine had been shattered, a piece of vertebrae cutting into his spinal cord. He was crippled from the waist down. Orren become completely wheelchair bound. His father did his best to comfort his son, but no words could help. He did what he could, sending Orren to the best school he could find that would cater to his son's needs.
I guess that's fair enough. I'll make a couple of character sheets, but don't jump up my ass if they aren't Japan enough.
How do you feel about superheroes?
Then why not just have it in the west?
I wish it hadn't been Japan :/ I don't know anything about the culture, laws, health care, ect, so I feel like I couldn't join this RP. Would have liked to have, though.
