I can't believe I've stuck myself with three girls for all of next year who think screaming, shrieking and making sex noises consists of banter. -_-

Bio

Howdy all! I figured it was about time I spruced up my bio section. Or, y'know. Wrote something in it other than WIP.

So! Things to know about my mostly-good self:

I'm a 20 year old female, hailing from a not-so-small town in the north east of England. I'm currently about a third through my second year at Uni, and have made some awesome friends there so far. I also debate. That's always fun - arguing has always been an annoying trait (for others, that is) of mine, so putting it into something one can have on their CV is great. The competitions are super fun too. Anyway, roleplaying.

If you've known me for a short or long while, you'll likely know what an absolute slut for fantasy I am. High fantasy to low, I love those kind of roleplays and will nearly always be interested in new ones that crop up. The same applies for Sci-Fi, but at the moment, I'm not feeling inspiration for a good ol' spacefaring RP. Gotta get the Mass Effect out again, get me craving some Turian booty again. However, I won't go for only these ones. SoL can interest me if they're run properly, alongside horror, mystery, romance, etc. I won't ignore something simply because it doesn't have magic or flying bears in it or something. As for level, I like to consider my writing high-casual to low-advanced. Hopefully others will agree with me on that one, haha. Anyway, here's a list of specific fandoms I enjoy, kind of in order of preference:

  • Lord of the Rings Universe (Including The Hobbit)
  • Dragon Age series
  • Elder Scrolls
  • Mass Effect Trilogy
  • Star Trek (I'd love a Discovery one right now!)
  • Star Wars (Specifically the time around the Prequels; while I shan't get into the whole Prequel/Original war on which is better, roleplaying makes for more excitement in the prequel era. Clone Wars guys, c'mon!)
  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer
  • Fringe
  • Greek Mythology (PJO, but with the amount of Camp Half-Blood roleplays that have come and gone, I'd prefer one based more on the Original Mythologies)
  • Norse Mythology
  • Marvel
  • Left 4 Dead
  • The Walking Dead (Or any Post-Apocalypse Roleplay, really.)
  • 'A Song of Ice and Fire' Series
  • House of Night Series
  • True Blood
  • Deus Ex
  • Blood Ties
  • The Vampire Diaries (I admittedly abandoned the show and books when the plot got too boring, but I still like the Universe. I'd join a roleplay based in it, if it had original characters, that is.)
  • Pacific Rim

Aaannndd I'll stop the list here before I go on forever. Basically there's a lot, particularly in the realm of fantasy. Hit me up if you want me in your roleplay, of if you'd like to do a 1x1 based around any of those areas, or even some additional ones if you think I'd be interested. I love original plots and Universes too, especially if they're done well.

Current Active Roleplays:

The Elder Scrolls: Fruits of Contention
The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion - Crimson Skies (GM)

Haha, that would be awesome! Would certainly make for some interesting interactions when language barriers come up.
@babbysama

Yeah, online sources can be confusing haha. And I thought he'd know Sindarin because of his father - he can be as fluent as you'd like though, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for him to be well-versed in it. I would assume this anyway, but does he also know Westron? I would imagine most of the people in Rohan would learn it, what with being the most popular language of men, but it doesn't hurt to check first. :)
@babbysama

Sindarin. It was easier to translate from the resources I found online, simply because it's a more developed language. In the lore, however, Quenya wasn't really used much in day-to-day conversation, as it was so old. It was reserved for ceremonies, old songs and tales of elvish history. Someone who wasn't an Elf or of the Dúnedain likely wouldn't know Quenya, barring words that had transferred between it and the Sindar tongue.
@babbysama

Those edits are perfect! The continued feud between the line of Éothain and Eorl would certainly put off others from being true friends with the former. And servant is fine - chances are some of her coin would go towards paying off the debt her son incurred, so that works wonderfully. Húldas is accepted; you can move him into the character tab, and post at your own pleasure!
@babbysama

Awesome character! Glad to have our first Rohirric character! I'll just need you to make a few changes.

Firstly, you've mentioned Mirkwood and Dôr-min-Taur as being in Beleriand, which will need editing.

Secondly, it's more to do with your character's backstory. The people of Eorl were described as "...true-hearted, generous in thought and deed; bold but not cruel...". This to me makes me think they wouldn't hold a grudge against an entire line for what one of their ancestors may have done; and they certainly wouldn't have been involved with slavery, even keeping in line with weregild. If you've found a source that says contrary to what I believe, then fair enough - but otherwise, you'll have to change it. Perhaps turn the contempt of everyone into two specific family's that hate one another? Constantly battling, in competition, etc. This seems to be a more likely occurrence than everyone disliking the family because of a falling out with a dead King long ago. The slavery however, can't stay.

Other than that, he's wonderful! Once you make your changes, I'll be looking forward to seeing him in the IC. :)
@babbysama

We definitely have spots open, and especially to Tolkien enthusiasts! A member of the rohirrim will fit in nicely (and yes, they win in aesthetics alone. Tall horse lords beat Gondorians and Elves anyday, haha).
@FernStone

Not at all, you can add him in. Feel free to describe their journey and whatnot, I'll just go with whatever you write when I post. :)
@FernStone

Oh yes, definitely! His CS will be pretty much the same as before, but he'll have joined the other Hobbits to help track down their missing friend. I'll be posting his CS before his IC post. :)
@Mae

Okay, I've fixed up her powers, and I've tweaked the wording of Cataclysm so it's less end-of-the-worldy. Hope that's okay! If not, I'll just swap it out for her Boil and Toil power. :)
Feri's heart seemed to jump slightly as Rannon finally walked through the door, relief washing over her like a great wave.

"There you are! I was beginning to think you weren't going to show up!" She blurted out before she even thought about answering his question. "And you're hurt." Feri's own minor injuries of scuffed palms and bruised bottom were completely forgotten at the sight of the cut on his cheek. Swiftly reminding herself after a moment that it was rather normal for one to sustain an injury in a tourney - and he was lucky to come away with just a small cut - Feri's cheeks flushed at her over-protectiveness. "Um... yes. We picked up a few interesting stories from around town." Waving the serving girl over, some food and more drinks were ordered before Feri could launch into her and Gideon's adventures of the day.

"First of all, I can say without doubt that the townspeople and visiting merchants are absolutely bloody clueless as to what's going on." She began in a hushed tone, glad she had picked the quietest, darkest corner of the inn for their conversation. "Asking about Ostagar is pointless - everyone seems to still be under the impression that King Cailan is some knight in shining armour, ready to vanquish a handful of Darkspawn and be home in time for tea. And as for Lothering? I came far too close to losing my temper and telling the truth just to shut those bastards up about speculating. Innocent people have been slaughtered, it isn't right for some jumped-up Orlesian merchant to spread rumours about rogue mages or wild Qunari going doolally in the village." Her voice began to rise a little in anger in the middle of the rant, and she swiftly had to tone it down before people started looking over. Quietly simmering, Feri took a small break, finishing off the rest of her pint, and remaining silent as the serving girl returned with more food and drinks.

Taking another enthusiastic gulp of her fresh pint, Feri wiped her mouth with an increasingly dirty-looking sleeve, watching the girl leave with narrowed eyes before deciding she was again out of earshot. "Anyway... I hope you haven't been shouting your mouth off about Ostagar either." Eyes darting back to Rannon, they now looked more concerned than angry. "After a little snooping and a good climb, I was able to find the esteemed Guard-Captain and listen in on a little conversation he was having with a pair of his recruits. What I heard was interesting, to say the least." At that, Feri recounted everything she had heard and seen in the Guard-Captain's office as she and Rannon ate. Recalling the brutal way the man had acted brought back the shivers down Feri's spine, and she dreaded what would happen if he found out about herself and her companions. Especially Rannon... one of the few survivors of Ostagar? Maker only knows what that sick son of a bitch would do to him.

"This guy is bad news, Rannon. By the looks of his clothing and office, he's definitely being paid off by someone to keep this charade up. This Bann... Flower, or whatever he's called, most likely. It would explain why his guards know nothing, and why he seems intent on going ahead with this tourney. Didn't turn up anything about his wife's death though, other than a few fishwives saying how awful it was." Feri paused, suddenly grasping Rannon's hand from across the table, eyes wide with concern. "You must be careful. Fair enough, they might turf me out of the place for asking too many questions, but if they find out you were there? They could kill you! And I can't let that happen." Their current situation - and the daunting threat of the Guard-Captain - ensured that Feri wasn't going to feel embarrassed at this sudden rush of caring for someone she barely knew. This young warrior had already been through enough shit, and he went through even more just to save her life out in the wilds. Maker knows she'd return the favour... but then, Feri had an inkling that she would be willing to risk her own life to save his regardless of settling any debts between them. Whether they'd bonded over near-death encounters, the Blight, surviving the Wilds, or even just forced companionship for about a week... there was a bond there, and it was strong enough that Feri would feel hurt at it's breaking.
