Kaylee, eager to get Draco’s attention, shoved Ashley aside with a huff. “Move! I want Draco to sit here!” she snapped, making space between herself and Miranda. The two girls shuffled to make room, leaving an open spot beside Kaylee. Miranda’s eyes sparkled with expectation, her smile wide as she subtly tilted her head in a way that seemed designed to catch his gaze. The other girls waited, practically vibrating with anticipation, hoping the dashing Draco would grace them with his presence.
“Stop it!” Shilpa muttered, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. She reluctantly lifted her head, only to find Draco standing above her, looming in the way that was far too imposing for someone her height. Even the sunlight that filtered through the window, casting a golden glow from the Black Lake outside, seemed to highlight just how good he looked. Why did it have to be him? Her voice came out sharp, though she was still flustered. “Don’t give these slithering prissy girls the satisfaction, Malfoy!” she hissed, standing up straighter in an attempt to hold her ground, only to realize that she was still a mere 4’11”. The sudden wave of self-consciousness hit her like a freight train. She crossed her arms tightly, feeling the weight of her height mock her. “Besides, don’t you have better things to do than let women swarm around you like this?” She shot a pointed glance toward the girls on the couch, who were now leaning forward in curiosity, clearly enjoying the scene. Meanwhile, Ashley and Kaylee continued to gaze expectantly at Draco, silently waiting for him to close the gap between them and Miranda, hoping for a hint of that expensive cologne.
