You cannot undo the past.

Twelve years ago, Cassie Gage took her own life after becoming the victim of a cruel high school prank. Over a decade later, those responsible for her death have since moved on with their lives. The town of Timber Valley, Massachusetts has moved on. But someone, one sole person, has not.
And now vengeance comes in the form of the scorned as, one by one, those responsible are brutally murdered. As the clock ticks, the fates of the few are sealed by one badly considered action over a decade ago.

So, as you can see, this is a Slasher-Survival RP based around a story of vengeance. Our setting is the small fictional town of Timber Valley Massachusetts. Twelve years prior, a sixteen year-old girl named Cassie Gage committed suicide at Timber Valley High School when she was humiliated in front of the entire school. The five teens responsible escaped criminal charges, though as you can imagine have always had a bad reputation since.

Four of them have more or less stayed in Timber Valley, “never leaving small town America” as the saying goes. The fifth (my partner’s character), did however. I will of course leave it up to them on why. School? A big career bounce? Marrying someone out of town? It’s your choice.

The five have more or less remained as friends and stayed in contact over the years, so when one of them is brutally killed, my partners’ character as you can imagine returns home for the funeral. (And maybe answers.?) It soon becomes clear that the first death was just one in a string of violent deaths for recompense.

This so far is all of the story that I have “concreted”. The rest will be discussed and written together by my partner and I together. I will say this; while I am aiming for originality, I do have several “horror cliches” that I intend to incorporate into the RP. Such as threatening phone calls, cryptic messages, and a masked killer. (Who doesn’t love these particular cliches’??)

-On average I post anywhere from 1-3 times a day, it just depends on the circumstances and phase of the RP.

She spoke aloud to Alice, her back still turned,”Two questions for you. Firstly, how would you feel about spaghetti and meatballs for our dinner? I’ll season it thoroughly if you’d like and of course mix a packet or two of blood into the sauce.”

She aloud Alice a chance to answer, and then asked her second question,”How about coming with me to work tonight? It’ll probably be pretty slow, and you can hangout at the bar with Conner again. Remember him?”

(I have pushed this idea for so long now and still haven’t found a partner to see it through with me. Which surprises me a little regarding the franchise and lore we are working with here. But I don’t say this with bitterness. I truly hope that this last check will guide someone my way committed to seeing this through with me. If not, very well, on to the next idea. This statement is meant as a “last call”.)

Hello, Welcome, and thanks for your time!

For some time now I’ve been juggling around a concept about a Skyrim Roleplay specifically centered around the Dark Brotherhood. This Roleplay will tell the story of the Brotherhood after the assassination of Emperor Titus Mede the Second, post quest “Hail Sithis”. The Listener attempts to rebuild the Dark Brotherhood and return to a time when the Brotherhood was feared above all others.

My partner will role as a Dark Brotherhood noviatiate, recently recruited into the Brotherhood. You will be given contracts, special tasks, and encounter other objectives not related to the Brotherhood itself. You will embark upon an epic journey of murder, deceit, and chaos as the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim is born anew.

The RP itself will mostly be plotted along with original quests, characters, and locations, aside from the occasional canon material. The only canon quests that will be employed within this RP will be minor and Daedric quests, and they will be slightly spoofed to avoid redundancy from the game.

I’m hoping to make this RP very diverse in characters, quests, and overall direction. This is more of a concept-idea rather than a complete and finalized RP.

While I realize fandoms can be iffy here on RP Guild, I also realize Skyrim fans are abundant and wide, and the Dark Brotherhood is s very popular element of The Elder Scrolls.
Hopefully I can find a reliable partner who’s willing to see this RP through to the end with me, and that we may all deeply enjoy this experience (obviously).

Below you will find a brief summary and backstory of Aleera Veruni, the current Listener for the Dark Brotherhood, as well as a listing of current Brotherhood members.

ALEERA VERUNI, THE LISTENER OF THE DARK BROTHERHOOD

Aleera Veruni, age unknown, originally hailed from Morrowind. Much of Aleera’s past remains secluded, unknown. She spent most of her life as a lowlife in Morrowind. Begging, pickpocketing, robbery, and theft were her trades of life back home. Aleera was an acclompished sneak thief and cut-purse, and knew her way around weapons, fancying a pair of sleek daggers, which slit more than a few throats. She was also a skilled archer, and was in prime physical shape as well.

In 201 4E, not long after Alduin the World Eater destroyed Helgen, Aleera found herself at the gates of Riften in Skyrim, and was soon after recruited by the Riften Thieves Guild. She performed beyond expected, never failing a job and earning the Guild a fair sum of coin. Aleera was with the guild for several months, until an internal struggle broke loose, and Aleera left Riften behind to start anew.

Aleera spent several weeks pulling jobs on her own. At one point, she found herself in Whiterun, where she met Jenassa, a headstrong and bloodthirsty fellow Dunmer. Aleera saw potential in Jenassa and recruited her as a partner. The two pulled numerous jobs together over the course of months. The robbery of the Markarth treasury, the grand string of larceny in Falkreath, and the heist of the Blue Palace in Solitude were all their work, and soon they had amassed a massive sum of loot in their hideaway.

When word got out that someone was looking for the Dark Brotherhood in Windhelm, Aleera went to investigate, having already arrived in the city with Jenassa. When met by a young boy seeking to have the abusive head of the orphanage in Riften murdered, Aleera initially laughed this off metaphorically. She took the job however, killing Grelod the Kind of Honorhall orphanage. Despite the shoddy payment by the boy, Aleera was satisfied by the killing.
She had always had a bloodlust deep within, like her counterpart Jenassa. She had killed several people specifically in her recent months of thievery in fact.

Soon after, the Dark Brotherhood came calling, and Aleera found herself offered a position within their family.
Aleera took the offer without a hesitation, parting ways with Jenassa and joining the murderous cult of Sithis.

DARK BROTHERHOOD FOREVER

After the death of Emperor Titus Mede the Second, Aleera took it upon herself to rebuild the Dark Brotherhood and reconstruct the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary in Dawnstar.
Not long after the sanctuaries’ refurbishing, Aleera came across her old partner, Jenassa, and invited her to join the Dark Brotherhood. Jenassa agreed without hesitation.

Aleera now resides in the Sanctuary predominantly, remaining vigil and ever-attentive to the voice of the Night Mother.
She guides the Brotherhood and voices the commands of Sithis and the Night Mother, while wielding the Blade of Woe as her symbol of authority and power. She has taken up the study of magic. At one point, not long after the assasination of Titus Mede II, it was revealed that Aleera was also a Vampire, a secret she had kept from even the Brotherhood until recent.
Despite this, she is still revered as The Listener and commands the respect of such a title.

I’m just going to go ahead and declare my character type; an Argonian rogue who dual wields an Iron War Axe and a Steel Dagger. I assume that, even though he’s not an alchemist, he’ll have access to poisons and toxins?

I listed a max strength of adept level spells. I feel that that is good grounds. @Ollumhammersong@ArenaSnow

I’m thinking that only Mage characters can have initial Adept level powers.
Warriors, Rogues, Rangers, and Alchemists could start at Apprentice level, and Barbarians would be planted at Novice level spells IF ANY.

Ya I was thinking about those, honestly... i'd tread carefully around those. Leave the main story line and anyone related to it untouched and as the outcomes as ambiguous as you can.

I assume your leaving the grand quest line and the imperial/stormcloak thing? If so there can be some fun to be had eliminating certain officers from either sides. Just not any of the really higher up or story critical ones. Or taking out a few nosey Thalmer (or the Thalmer are a client)

The story of rebuilding the brotherhood itself is compelling enough and can require more than just shiving people in the dark. Contacts need to be made, bribes collected and given and maybe a bit of travel to the other provinces.

Hmm, I see and agree to your point.
I’ll avoid major and “moderate” canon characters. We won’t be meddling in the Civil War arc really. (Maybe one assassination of a minor officer.)
The Dragonborn Quest will be rendered as “finished” in this RP.
The Last Dragonborn, Deimos Balénson, lives with his wife Camilla in Whiterun, leaving only when called upon or to adventure out for some time.

I like your angle of majorly objectifying the rebuilding process itself. That will be a fine arc in itself.
