Falianth are an amphibian race of humanoids that stand between five and six feet in height. They have a smooth skin that always has the look of being damp and wet to the touch even though their skin drys fast after being in contact with water. A few of the leading external characteristics of the race is their range of skin color ranging from deep green to a purple color and every color in between, another characteristic would be their faces which do not have a nose but instead two slits above a thin flap of skin that covers their mouth. Their eyes are more reptilian in nature as their iris has a serpentine look to it and their also do not have eyelids which are replaces with a thin see-through membrane that can be pulled over the eye for protection and the prevent them from drying out. Underneath the flap of skin covering their mouths is a double row of pointed teeth that were used for tearing at their food rather than chewing. The final external characteristics that stand out would be the webbing that is on their feet that can be retracted for easier walking on land and finally two massive rows of gills on their chest taking up over half of their sides, that rest over where the lungs are located.
Their internal structure is not much different than humans in that they have one heart, two lungs and other similar organs. The differences come from how these organs can function, for example the lungs are only used on land and take a back seat to the large gills they use when they are underwater. The Falianth are a race affected by sexually dimorphism as the males show signs of developing more muscles and are broader while the females are more slim and show more curves though both sexes do not grow any facial hair and rather distinguish themselves by decorating their bodies with various tattooed and jewelry.
Description of government:
Description of military:
The epicenter of the United Falianth Collective technology is the use of gene manipulation to solve their problems. In the early history of the Falianth the only solutions to problems was through the few selected that were able to use magic to help those around them, but through specific breeding of certain genes they have spread the use of magic to around ninety percent of the population. This genetic breeding developed hand in hand with advances in technology allowing for easier identification of desired traits and manipulation.
It wasn't long before the Falianth were creating their own genetically modified creatures designed to preform specific tasks. They called this fusion of magic and technology Genemancy as they continued to perfect their craft until they felt comfortable to use this on themselves to cure their various illnesses. There is a variation of this technology that the Falianth use as a sort of individualism where they mark their bodies with a form of bio luminescent tattoos that look very similar to human tribal tattoos.
When it comes to starships and other space technology the Falianth actually grow their large warships and transportation ships. Starships and even terrestrial ships are a hybrid of both biological and technological design. Terrestrial ships and starfighters on the outside has a sleek exterior design with a long angled body, two wings and a single propulsion engine at the rear. Even though the outside looks like a modern ship by most races standards the inside looks like a living organism, there is a single seat for the pilot with two slots that look like mouths where the pilot places his hands to control the ship, this is completed by a tendril with a needle at the end at the back of the pilot's seat that is attached to a cluster of nerves in the pilot to control the ship with ease.

I guess I'll show what I have at the moment as well.
@Aristo nice it looks like we have somewhat the same idea with bio-ships.

Description of government: The Falianth Collective is a government built upon the backs of the nine clans. The nine clans are the ruling body with each holding considerable power that can normally never be overruled by the other clans. Each clan has power over an entire system with their home system of Fai being a neutral system that is open to all clans without consequence.
Each of the clans is lead by a Master Splicer who serves as their most recognized genius as well as most decorated scientist.

Cultural Overview: Falianth Culture is primarily built on the pursuit of perfection. Their extensive knowledge in gene manipulation has allowed them to eradicate most harmful diseases and to extend their lives significantly. This manipulation has also allowed the Falianth to express themselves from each other with small genetic alterations along with the differences shown by their various tattoos.
The Collective has mixed views on other races that fill the galaxy. Many see them as resources that can be exploited to farther their research into genetic manipulation and the ultimate goal of immortal perfection, while others see them as allies that can further their understanding of the universe and also help with their research. One thing that is understood by both factions is that state and trade secrets on the creation of their genemancy must not be leaked to other races under any circumstances.
Normal Falianth know mostly a life of luxury as all hard labor is done by grown workers that are something of a subspecies that is grown through genetic manipulation for the soul purpose of servitude. All life that is created by the Falianth is viewed as expendable as they are not actually seen as living creatures and are just as easily thrown away and sold between Falianth as pieces of equipment.
How do you feel about a race that uses gene manipulation race? They would have their own combination of magic and technology that would allow them to manipulate DNA structure and genes to an extent.
Think of the shields like Jackels in Halo. They were designed to be used in phalanx formation with overlapping edges so that they would present no weakness to the enemy. Rather effective tactics in close quarters like a ship's hull but not so much in open combat with species that use firearms.
The three Salesh had barely left the bridge when the ship was rocked by an explosion and the docking of the boarding ship. Seconds later the communication devices became flooded with people trying to talk over each other as a chain of command tried to stay established to no avail. Do'Rak decided to rely on his officers to maintain order to the rest of the personnel as he made his way to where the explosion had come from. Just as the three started to pick up their pace, five white uniformed soldiers rounded the corner to stand face to face against the three large reptilian Salesh and seemed taken a back at first at their sight.
Before the invaders had time to recover and react to their new enemies, two of them fell to the ground with massive spears sticking out of their chests courtesy of Savan'Rak and Na'Rak. Within seconds, the three Salesh were standing shoulder to shoulder with large swords drawn and hunkered behind round energy shields with a eight foot radius. This was a common tactic for the species as they preferred to fight as groups even though they could hold their own in solo combat against most races.
This entire first encounter took a span of thirty seconds before Do'Rak and his Brood fell upon the remaining enemy before they had a chance to raise their rifles in response. There wasn't much of a fight as this small vanguard force did not seem to be outfitted with much armor and ended up in a bloody heap upon the floor with just one human remaining out of the five. He was being held in place by Na'Rak's large jaws that were wrapped around his arm causing the man to pass out from the pain.
"Release him. This will be our informant for the Captain." Do'Rak told his kin who released the lesser being from her teeth who fell to the ground unconscious revealing that his arm was completely broken and might have actually had the bones in his arm pulverized from the force of the bit. That would have to be found out later as their were other matters to attend to first.
The Salesh reformed shoulder to shoulder reactivating their shields as they slowly made their way down the hallway that the enemy had come from with swords at the ready if they encountered anymore. This gave Do'Rak time to pull his communicator from his belt and turn on his translator. "Attention all units, converge on the invaders position and give priority to capturing officers for farther interrogation."
Do'Rak gave a low growl as he heard the radar officer mention that there was no way of finding out where the boarding ship would breach meaning that they were still at a disadvantage. That meant that their forces would be weakened as they were split up at the point of the attack and that would lead to losing some men. He turned to the captain and put his right fist to his chest as a salute followed by his two sisters that stood next to him. "Captain, you have my promise that these attackers will be repelled and that you will have your prisoners to interrogate. Now if you will excuse us. We have a job that needs to be done." With those parting words, he left the bridge as he grabbed the communicator at his belt.
"Attention all security personnel. Patrol all exterior all ways in groups of four in anticipation for a large scale attack from unknown forces. If you at the location of the breach report immediately and hold out until reinforcements arrive." Do'Rak issued these orders before shutting off his translator and continuing down the hallway with his brood sisters.
"We will eliminate the enemy as they board this ship regardless of what the Captain says. We will only take officers hostage as they would be the only ones to give useful information. Do what you do best." His fellow Salesh growled in approval as they agreed with his logical plan as battle was what they all lived for anyway. Technically all the Salesh of the same brood were of the same command level with none holding more power than the next but his sisters had given him command of this mission as only one could hold the post of Executive officer on the ship.
