Oli felt slow, which was almost a nostalgic feeling at this point, which might have been nice if not for literally everything else about the situation they were in. Looking down at the head, Oli was so confused. Initially, he thought this might be some kind of hallucination, but everything felt so real. He rubbed his eyes for a moment, almost thinking what he was seeing had to be some kind of trick, an LMD, or anything, but it was too real. What was in front of him was a screaming severed head, and by everything he knew about the world, that was impossible.

He turned to look at Niah, wanting to say something to her, before it was too late, and she was deaf to the world. He was almost jealous of her, not having to hear that anymore. He was perfectly fine, however, with the fact that she was the one who got to play with the severed head instead. Keeping a close eye on the situation around them, Oli tried to hear anything that wasn't the screams, and a look of confusion crossed his face. He could hear under it the sound of ocean waves crashing. Oliver was just confused at this point, nothing was making a lick of sense.

If Elizabeth was being totally honest with herself, she probably would want to be with Mister Stark; she felt like she owed him for the arm, but apparently he wanted to stop her from being an x-man, and that wasn't going to happen. If she was gonna be stuck with these godforsaken mutant powers, she would at least get to punch evil things in the face, or more accurately, shoot them with her Starktech Gun Arm. This wasn't gonna be pretty but hopefully there would be a resolution that didn't end with her having to stop doing this or go on some registry.

That all being said, Captain America was a god damn inspiration to be around. Something about the Star Spangled Man With A Plan just hit Elizabeth different. She wasn't much for role models or leaders, but even she had to admit that it was easy to just kind of fall in line for him, or at least, mostly. She already had a couple of ideas for how to be useful in this fight, especially if they were aiming for non-lethality. She wasn't about to start transmuting chemical bombs, but turning Iron Man into Lead Man sounded like a perfectly good option. Considering her options, Elizabeth crossed her arms, waiting for Team Iron Man to show themselves.

Arthur nodded at Kiera, "I know, I didn't mean to cut you out Ki." He said. He wasn't used to being this outwardly empathetic, but things were changing, and he had to in kind. Kindness was something everybody needed right now, and he didn't want to be the person to withhold that. He needed that returned to him, and the best way to get it, would be to give it. That seemed to be accurate as well, as the table turned to an outpouring of support for Dem. It was so hopeful to see, that even though things were terrible right now, everyone was trying to be there for one another.

As he was pulled in and nuggied, Arthur made a strange yelp, before laughing. He was glad to see that he helped him. It looked like he was feeling significantly better than before, and that made Arthur happy. It felt good to know that he was having a positive impact among all the shit that was going on. Listening to Leda continue to speak, he was a bit surprised at the power for demigods to prophesize, but his well for surprise was also pretty much bottomed out. All he could really muster in response was, "That's um... neat." with a bit of a deadpan.

Following after the group, Elizabeth chuckled a bit at the question, "Well, if you fall and survive, Good ol' Nidhogg lives at the bottom." She explained. "He's a big snake... dragon thing. I wouldn't recommend visiting him." She darkly joked, before slowly making her way down the flight of stairs. For a place that was essentially a home for combat veterans, it wasn't very accessible. It wasn't impossible, of course, for a blind girl to make it down a set of stairs, but if they could have elevators to the exit, that'd be nice. Taking careful steps, she eventually safely got to the bottom.

Taking the last step, she continued to say, "I wouldn't worry about it though, if I can do it, you can too." Elizabeth wasn't wrong, in all honesty. She'd take being inexperienced to being unable to see any day. She had her blindfold, so she wasn't fucked, but climbing would be challenging. She wasn't too worried about it though, this wasn't her first time doing this, and she handled herself well enough in otherwise dangerous activity just fine, so she really didn't think there was any real risk for her.

Elizabeth tried to roll with the punches the monkeys threw at her, that was about all she could do at this point. Mostly, she was glad nobody made fun of her for her stupidity, but as they continued a question crossed Elizabeth's mind; harm was nebulous, was it not? She didn't pay attention much in school, but she knew cells died in her body regularly, would this stop that? Were they about to be immune to emotional trauma as well? Could they be made sad after? Reality warping seemed like it should be handled delicately, and this kind of haphazard word play felt akin to dancing madly on the lip of a volcano.

As she waited the results of Runa's reality warping to take effect, she tried to grab for one of the monkeys going at her, and had a terrible idea. Blood was liquidy, and so was water, and she knew she could change things that were like other things into those things so she decided to have an experiment. This was mostly fueled by the idea that, whatever these monkeys are, they probably weren't real in the same way that other creatures were, only products of the game's magic and nothing more. Grabbing one by that arm, she tried to transmute the blood of the monkey, but she didn't see any immediate changes. Disappointed, she crossed her arms in defense, hoping that they'd be invulnerable soon.

Oliver glared at this evil, older version of himself. The way he was talking, it made it seem like he was actually him from the future. But that had to be impossible; time travel aside, going back and interacting with yourself like this? The paradoxes seemed almost unresolvable with any kind of linear time model. If he was him from the future, he wasn't really Oliver, he couldn't be. It would have to be some kind of alternate timeline, or more complicated system Oli couldn't parse at the moment. Either way, he'd rather this Oli not die, in case his instincts were wrong. He didn't want to seal his own fate.

Watching Niah run off towards the scream, he was left with him and his evil twin alone. Oli didn't like having to deal this this himself; he wasn't a fighter, but that did actually balance out here, if this person was the same as him. Closing the distance between him and Evil Oli, he grabbed him by the shoulders, and phased both of them to the floor below. Sure, he had already done that earlier today against the skrulls, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Taking advantage of the shock of having the floor knocked out from under them, Oliver pulled his fist back, and clocked the doppelganger right in his stupid scar, knocking him out cold.

Pulling his fist back and shaking it, he looked down, a little disappointed at himself on the floor. "Honestly, I'm glad you're down, but come on, I'm embarrassed for us." Oliver said, a sneer of derision in his voice. Not taking a spare moment, Oliver ripped the shirt off the unconscious body, and tied it around his waist. When they got out of this, he'd want Niah to be able to get them answers, and he wasn't about to count on this asshole not waking up and disappearing. Oliver walked over to the door, only to find it locked. Not deterred by simple things like physical obstacles, Oli phased through, only to find the hallway absolutely freezing cold. Thoroughly confused, Oliver muttered under his breath, "What the shit is going on...", before heading off to look for the source of the scream.

Arthur sat himself next to Andy quietly, setting his food down, he knew something was wrong with Dem too. In a way, it felt good to not be alone in his suffering. Not that he wanted other people to hurt or anything, he wasn't that kind of person, but it's comforting to know he wasn't crazy for being as scared and upset as he was. This was all a lot, and he just needed to not be alone right now. This all was starting to confirm it. The older demigods were able to take it on with such ease, it made it feel like there was something they were fundamentally missing as new campers.

As Demetri spoke, Arthur nodded. He took a slow sip from his orange juice, before saying, "I'm not gonna make fun of you Dem, and I'm not gonna be okay with anybody who does." He was struggling just the same as Arthur was, and it made him feel closer. "I'm scared of all this. I don't know what's happening, and I understand how you're feeling." He didn't know what else to say, but he wanted Dem to know he wasn't alone. He looked over at Andy, hoping she would say something similar.

Entering the room, Oliver was immediately put off guard. Hearing one's own voice talking to them and seeing their own face just isn't something people have to deal with. He didn't realize that this person, this thing was somehow himself before things were too late. He should have prepared for this, he thought. At some point the Skrulls would make a copy of him, it only made sense, given how he was preparing for them, but as he drew breath, time slowed down, and he watched himself commit the horrible act. As he witnessed everything unfold before him however, he noticed something, something that kept his rage from spilling over and destroying all his self control.

As the act was finished, his mind raced. Whatever Evil Oli had just killed was not him mom. Best guess at the moment was some kind of LMD, but as he parsed this, he'd already started charging at his doppleganger, only for the creature to have skirted to the other side of the room by the time he had crossed it. Seething, he wanted to cry out, to demand answers to the situation, but before he did, his thoughts caught up with him. He had to choose his next actions carefully; if he was right, the life of his mother may hang in the balance. He'd felt, for a fleeting moment, what it was to lose her, and he would not do that again.

Three clues, all which led to one possible answer, or at least, one class of answers. One: This hospital was totally empty, a sight that was rare, or otherwise totally unheard of. Two, his father was nowhere to be found, and three, his mother was no longer here, but she could be alive. These all pointed to one obvious conclusion. Somebody very much wanted Oliver to believe his mother was dead. They couldn't have witnesses, and for some reason, they weren't going to the trouble of actually killing her. If he wanted his mom to live, he had to act as if he believed she was dead, anything less would give whoever was behind this a reason to actually kill her.

"Why?" Oliver choked out, his eyes brimming with rage, still wet from the tears he has started to shed when he entered the room, "Who the hell are you, and why-" he gestured at the facsimile of his mother's corpse, "do you care so much about me? If you're skrull, you could have just put me down, you didn't need to involve her." He said through gritted teeth, "You from Thanos? Is this your way of making me suffer for escaping you on the moon? What goddamn cosmic forces give such a fuck about me, that my mom can't die in peace?" His words, though chosen, and not representative of his complete understanding of the situation, did reflect very real feelings he had right now. Why was the universe conspiring to make his life a living hell?

Elizabeth turned her head at Arnora , and just nodded, "I'm ready to headout whenever." She said, stretching a bit, as the group congregated and got prepared to leave. She didn't have much to say on the matters involved, knowing that, anything she might say would probably be met with spite. She wasn't going to try to engage with people if she knew that her advice was likely to be ignored for no other reason than it being her advice. Not now, at least. Hopefully, people would cool down in a bit, and be ready to hear her out when she has something to say.

Elizabeth gathered there was a cat who shared her namesake, and was apparently not one to fuck with. Nodding at the knowledge, she resolved to keep her distance. She liked pets, but she also liked not being eaten, and the latter greatly outweighed the former. The more the merrier, especially when they were going up against a goddess of death and their undead army. Their chances, best she could tell, weren't amazing, and she still wasn't sure how they would clinch this. She may consult the runes on the way for something in the way of ideas, but that would be once they were closer to their goal.

As monkeys overran them, Elizabeth almost felt embarrassed. Take down scary robots? Silver Men? Gods the size of planets? No problem, but throw a group of angry monkeys at them and they floundered. Two of their team members had stab wounds, and they were blaring terrible music. This was hell. Looking at the battlefield around them, Elizabeth thought for a moment; as long as Edus was injured he wouldn't be able to help Runa, or at least, that was what she had to assume. It was at that point, that she got an interesting idea, as long as she understood Runa correctly.

"No you don't!" She called over to Runa, "You can end the spell all on your own!" She hoped that that would work, but also it felt like a risky gambit to try to alter the fabric of reality with a few quickly conceived words. It was like performing surgery with a machete, she considered, but that was essentially what the monkeys were trying to do to them, so turnabout was fairplay. Shortly afterwards though, she facepalmed. She was actually pretty certain that that wasn't how Runa's powers worked, and now she looked like an idiot. Runa's statement would become truth, not the contradiction, so that attempt was pointless.

The ride over, Oliver was quiet. There wasn't much to say, and he was worried that if he tried to get any words out of his mouth, nothing but tears and sobbing would come instead. Somber and quiet, he looked out to the city before him, memories of growing up and having a life here before the world got so complicated. In what would shortly be following, he knew it would be the final sentences of his story here, leading to the start of a new story that began when he found out about his pedigree. Wherever S.H.I.E.L.D was taking him, he knew that he's be going at it without his roots. This was his unearthing.

As they entered the Hospital, Oliver sighed. This place was sterile; life wasn't meant to take place here, it was meant to end here. The smells, the walls, even the music, there was nothing real here, just attempts for comfort in the most uncomfortable place a person could be in. "If you could wait outside the door, I'd... no." He said, shaking his head. He wanted somebody with him, he didn't fully understand why, but being in that room alone, it didn't sit right. He needed somebody who wasn't in pain, and that would be Niah. "I... please join me." He finished, looking at her, holding back tears, as he lightly knocked on the door.
