That's Mr. House from Fallout New Vegas. He basically kept his body in a perfectly sealed-away and sterile container and hooked himself up to a mainframe and continued to live for a couple of hundred years after the nuclear war, interacting with the outside world through robots. If his chamber ever opened up, just being exposed to the outside world guaranteed his death because his body was so fragile at that point.
