"Huh, we do? Now that I think about it, I might remember you guys." Vane made a note of all four of them sharing the same class while resting the back of his head on his hands. He walked in that carefree position all the way to class with everyone around him. All he could think about was pushing through the classes and then getting some training in, possibly sparring with others.
Since he already knew a bit about Nuru... "You two shorties," he began, obviously referring to Cynthia and Pablo. "Who are you guys? I know the big dude, but you guys are a mystery to me. Entertain me with some small talk while we head to class won't you?"
It was then that the bell rang. Vane clicked his teeth in disappointment and picked up his pace. He's gonna make Virgil his sparring partner for sapping the rest of his free time away. He just has to sit through all the slow-paced classes until he gets to the blood-pumping good stuff.
Personality; As a gentle and spirited soul who's always smiling, Shouyou is always cheerfully helping whoever needs him. He is a curious and slightly altruistic person who has the tendency to butt into other people's issues whenever possible. Whenever there's a conflict, he prefers to take the pacifistic route of talking things out. All in all, he's a kind person that likes to take on the role of a teacher. His guilt and regret pushes him to help others even at his own expense.

Backstory: Shouyou Tenma used to work for the government. More specifically, he was a special individual who was used to carry out killings of anyone who became too unruly for the government to handle. From a young age, he naturally gained powers that were put to good use once he was recognized as an adult. Being raised and indoctrinated by a government program, he was loyal to them and carried out their every word. With his powers, he was truly a dreadful person who never failed a murder mission. The perfect killer.
Of course, the years of these missions began to take a toll on Shouyou's apathetic mind. He grew weary and tired of all the bloodshed and decided to request a permanent leave. It was to his relief, that the government acquiesced to his request. Whether it was because of their respect for him or something else, they let him go with the condition that he would have a tracker on him because of how sensitive the information he possessed was.
The peaceful world changed Shouyou's cold disposition into the kind person he is today. There was life in his steps, dreams on his mind, and hope in his heart. He felt like a complete human being after gaining independence. It is a freedom he cherishes from the bottom of his soul.
After gaining a teaching license, he decided to impart philosophy lessons to young students. He tutored, acted as a substitute teacher for schools, and even took the position of a permanent teacher at one point. He achieved a peaceful life that he thought impossible while he was a mage working for the government.
Unfortunately, that peaceful life of his was disturbed at the behest of the same government he left. They "recommended" him to join the Isamu Family for some reason. The only reason he did accept their request was because of his former ties to them and the fact that the Isamu Family, from what he's heard, is a family full of good people.
So, here he is, helping out anyone in the Isamu family who needs it.
Magic
High/Adept/Capable
Shouyou's magic is something that strictly affects the self. Activating it boosts his nigh-superhuman physical capabilities to something that can't even be described with just the word superhuman. He gains the ability to move faster than the speed of sound, punch through steel, and can block bullets with his body. The downside to this magic is that it's extremely limited in variety in the fact that it can only boost the user and nothing else.

Torys's response to Luke was comforting, for it meant she would allow him to go on the mission. He'll need to find some people to go with him though. Who should he ask? Gwendolyn and Astoria are already going on missions...
He thought to himself for a moment. He wasn't paying attention to his surroundings, which was why he was mildly surprised when someone stepped up to him, grabbed the assignment from his hands and curiously looked at it. It was one of the newer members who joined, Gerard. The only thing Luke had in common with him was the hair color and nothing else.
"Do you want to join me?" Luke bluntly asked. Gerard showed the front of the assignment to Luke and pointed straight at the dark guild part.
He smiled as he spoke loosely. "What a pointless question. Why else would I come over to you if I didn't want to join you on this job. There's a dark guild involved after all." He shrugged his shoulders as if speaking to Luke was a bother in itself to which Luke only tilted his head in confusion.
"I don't really know you that well. Was it wrong for me to ask?" Gerard's otherwise impeccable smile twitched just a tad.
"Yeah it was. It's fine though. I realize you're one of the slow types. Anyways we probably need one or two more members for this before leader gives us the okay. So...who would want to go on an A-rank mission with us?" Gerard wondered to himself.
Name: Gerard Ignius Age: 18 Guild Mark Location: Left Hand: Amber Colored Magic Type: Fire Magic: A form of Magic that revolves around the use of fire, allowing the caster to conjure, manipulate, and control the element for various purposes. Gerard only has three months worth of experience in this type of magic, so he's not all that experienced with it.
Flame Domain: A spell that instantly surrounds the opponent in a dome of fire. The necessary air to breathe gets consumed to keep the flame burning, leaving those trapped in the flames on a timer until they pass out. There are times Gerard captures himself in this spells he got used to the strenuous nature of this spell and can last longer than most people without air.
Burning Chains: A spell that creates fiery chains in the users hands. It has a variety of usable options, such as using it to whip something or using it to hook onto something. Since it possesses the quality of flames, it's not really perfect for using it to navigate your way up certain objects because they will burn. For attacking, the spell only deals a moderate amount of damage.
Pure Flaming Sword: The one true offensive spell in Gerard's arsenal. The spell takes the form of a blade that looks more like a lace than a sword that contains a large amount of magic power contained into it. It takes about 10 seconds to charge up, but it's destructive enough to easily tear through multiple buildings.
Magic Type: Shadow Magic: Shadow Magic allows the user to bend their own shadow for various purposes, such as offense and defense, allowing the user a great deal of flexibility. Gerard took it a step further and learned how to manipulate the shadows of nonliving objects. This is the first type of magic Gerard learned, which he's a pro at.
Shadow Control: User can take control of a person's shadow, freezing them in place if the opponent is weaker than the user. Depending on how strong the opponent is, the magic cost for the spell varies.
Once the user fully takes control of the person's shadow, they are able to manipulate the targets shadow and even cause it to rise and attack the person.
Shadow Form: User can turn into an ephemeral form like a shadow and move through physical objects. Physical attacks do nothing to the user in this state; only magic can rip them out of it. They are still capable of casting spells in this state.
Deluge: The user turns the ground as dark as shadows. If there are shadows present, Gerard can use those to spread the ground black. The ground is now usable to boost the potency of Gerard's shadow spells. Tendrils burst out of the ground and swings at the target of the user. This spell is somewhat costly depending on how many shadows are already present.
Slothful Hands: Dark-purple shadows burst from the user's own shadow and takes the form of hands. They can extend several meters at base, and it costs more magic to increase that length. The strength of the hands can break rock and bend metal. The true ability of these hands are to sap the stamina of whoever it touches.
Magic Rank: A Equipment: A reinforced knife as long as a short sword. Strengths:
Second Origin Unlocked: Gerard already had his second origin unlocked; therefore, he possesses a large amount of magical power and stamina.
Indomitable Willpower: The words "give up" don't exist in Gerard's dictionary. He can't be deterred by fear or struggle. Not even pain can shake his mind.
Researcher: Gerard has a heavy interest in books that contain droves information, so he knows about many myths and legends about Earth Land. He also has a great knowledge of many different fields of magic.
Nigh-Perfect Memory: Gerard has the trait of remembering everything he's read and almost everything he's seen. It's an almost perfect memory that allows him to take in many things and store it forever. There are minute things like the number of leaves on a tree he passed an hour ago, which are things he won't remember.
Weaknesses:
Self-Absorbed: Gerard has a nature that renders him annoying when working with others. He's much more focused and efficient alone in his mind, so he tends to disregard others.
Vengeful: He absolutely hates all dark guilds and dark mages, and would stop at nothing to see them receive proper justice. Those who get in his way would receive themselves on the end of an extremely scathing glare filled with malice.
Partial-Blindness: An accident rendered Gerard unable to see out of his left eye. He also has no desire getting a new eye, nor does he desired it healed.
Prideful: From his experiences, Gerard feels that he's just naturally better than others. This trait of his is the biggest reason why he's basically friendless.
Personality: Possessing a slightly arrogant personality, Gerard is an oddly cheerful type of person who talks to others in a somewhat condescending tone. He always has his eyes wide open and a smile on his face with people interact with him, but his words are at odds with his expression. This contradicting person is a naturally reserved type until someone breaks the ice with him. With people he knows, he'll be pretty talkative.
His pride gets in the way of getting along with others. He feels that the things he's gone through puts him at a higher level than anyone else. He's the type of person to compare suffering with others and feels like it's a mark of pride that he's suffered more than others. Positive on the outside, negative on the inside.
History/Bio: Gerard Ignius was born to a normal family that weren't mages. For a normal family to have a son of just 9 years of age playing around with magic was an anomaly, but they still accepted him. It was a modern time where magic is very commonplace and ignorant towns are almost nonexistent. Things weren't always all peaceful in his house, but it was a time he wouldn't trade for anything.
At one point, Gerard became a little famous in his town for having a great memory. He loved to read and it was fun for him to try and recall the parts of a book he read. Somehow, his memorable trait reached the ears of a low-ranking dark guild that wasn't all that famous. All it took was one little positive quirk of Gerard to turn his positive life to a negative one. They murdered his parents and stole him into their guild, Knowledge Chasm. The reason they forcibly took him was to use his talent to steal information from forbidden libraries.
Gerard was filled with despair and hate in equal measure. His parents were murdered and he was forced to work for the very same group that did the evil deed. How could he ever feel any positive emotion again after that?
He had thoughts like that, which were proven unfortunately wrong. He was taught magic by them, his grudge gradually disappeared, and he eventually seemed to enjoy working with the guild. He felt it was like Stockholm syndrome, yet he didn't really mind anymore. He felt it was fine to use his talents for a dark guild like this because it wasn't like they were killing anyone. Just taking forbidden knowledge for themselves.
He thought he could live like that. Even with the hate that left, the despair still remained. It ate at him and started rotting him from the inside. All he could hold on to was his love of books. Days became months, which passed onto years where he stayed with Knowledge Chasm.
When he turned 18, the Guild Master gave him a certain mission. He was never filled in on the exact details, but he was told to meet with some of his allies in a certain city. He was a bit late because he was distracted by the library in the city, so they went on ahead without him. When he tracked down his allies, he found a repetition of his own origin being carried out. A child being taken from their own murdered parents.
The despair that lingered on in his body ignited the hatred that turned cold and he slaughtered the two dark mages. He left the child crying around corpses and returned to his guild where he carried out a mass murder. His guild mates didn't go without a fight and neither did the master, but he took them all out.
The master hit him with a vicious type of magic that took away all the color from his hair, leaving it a washed out pale gray, and took away his left eye's ability to take in light. The person who he used to be was ruined, so he buried his magic away and decided to take on a new magic. A burning magic that represents the passion he has for his ambition.
He has to atone for what he did. He got complacent and let his hatred and disdain for people cool just because they were nice to him and he got along with them. He can never let that happen again. He was stripped away from the light and wandered into the darkness for a while. Now he's walking in a gray zone.
He wants to destroy every single dark guild and dark mage in the world. His journey took him to Fenixtear where he assumed they would be getting a lot more missions because of how famous they are. Missions that involved the likes of dark guilds.
Extra: Using shadow magic is an absolute last resort to him. He'll only use it if his back is up against the wall.
Vane's response to Virgil's disappointing attitude was a small sigh. Only after feeling the urge to speak up to him, the man and his friends already left the area. He then turned towards the two who initially ran into him, the blonde girl's hair gaining his attention. There was also a very toned boy coming towards them as well. His identity was clearly obvious.
The shade of the now named girl's hair, Cynthia, reminded him of his friend. With that thought putting a smile on his face that washed away even the tiredness he felt in the morning, he spoke up with some cheer in his tone.
"Virgil ain't that bad. I'm sure he's got some good qualities in him." And he truly believed that. Vane can smell some insecurity from him, so he would prefer if he had a nice heart-to-heart chat with him to see what's really up with the boy.
"Ah, my name is Vane Wilson by the way. Don't call me talented though. You'll make me get carried away just a bit." A laugh was what he ended it with to let everyone know not to take him all that seriously.
"Well, if that's all, I'll be heading off now. If there's anything you need me for then..." He paused himself for a bit and then placed his hand on his chin in thought. He then snapped his fingers, concluding his momentary thoughts. "...Spar with me. That's the only way I'll do any favors for you guys. See ya."
Since some time has passed, he decided to head to class early.
The past three weeks for Luke was a monotonous repetition of the days before he went dragon hunting with his friends. The guild expanding didn't deter or discourage Luke from gathering up the fragments of his everyday and putting it together like a stairway he came up and down each day. He woke up from wherever he was sleeping around and rounded at the guild each day for any free job, then left to go rest.
Today was supposed to be a normal day just like any other. It was supposed to be one, yet there was a small, critical difference that irrevocably threw off Luke from the comfortable path he found himself on. Probably because it wasn't the proper route.
He woke up with a cold feeling in his gut. "Ouroboros... it's—" His mind was slow due to being disturbed from his sleep. He was still groggy, but he forced himself to stand up. For the first time ever, the snake ceased gorging itself on whatever it was consuming.
There was an urge inside of him that incited a feeling of revulsion from two sides.
So, he ran into an alleyway and vomited out his guts. There was no green bile typically seen in vomit, nor was there blood showcasing an illness of any sort. What was revealed from his stomach was something horrifying.
Luke rubbed off the vestiges of a black, inky liquid that was slipping from his lips. More than anything, the action of wiping off that liquid put a primal fear in him. All he could do was hopelessly smile while building up an even stronger self-identity.
"This is no good..." Luke muttered to himself with that same smile that didn't belong on his face. "This really is no good at all." He shook his sleeve and wiped off any remaining trace of his little morning issue before walking to the guild with the same placid look on his face.
The snake started eating once more. The guild was becoming even more lively with more requests flowing in and new members joining. Luke slightly nodded his head in recognition of those new faces and grabbed a delicious meal from Zenith, which was finished in record speed. He then lazily took to the board with his eyes trailing all over the mission requests.
His ears took in the loud conversations between everyone. He filtered them out to look over the interesting missions.
The two jobs that caught his attention the most were the two bodyguard missions. He reflexively turned away from the first one once he saw the mention of an orphanage with a raw dread filling him, so he looked towards the other one.
God Hand? He feels like he's heard of them before, but since he can't remember them, they can't be all that relevant. An A rank mission perfect for his rank, though he wonders if anyone else would want to come with him.
He gently pulled the request off the board and walked over to his guild master.
It was an early morning. A schedule that Vane still hasn't adjusted to even after a week has passed in the first semester. He just finished up the required daily rituals and was lazily taking a walk. A yawn slipped out of his mouth. He made no moves to cover it up.
He was slightly annoyed that he couldn't use the training facilities due to a certain Virgil; however, it wasn't all that bad. He can just train his body with push-ups, squats, and daily jogs. "Might as well go inside the building."
The sound of a fight made him curiously turn his head towards that direction. He was greeted by the impact of two people running into him. The surprise of it almost knocked him down, but he balanced himself to view the conflict.
"A two-on-five?" It seemed like a nice potential fight for him to get involved in. If he were to go all in on it, the best option would be to turn all of them on him. He thought for just a split second before acting like a busybody. He got in the way of those students running towards the other two that crashed into him.
"Come on now. You guys don't need to fight this early in the morning, right? You can just save it for sparring." He cheerfully smiled at everyone even though his heart wasn't in it this early in the day. His tired eyes were clearly visible to those who were even mildly perceptive.
Noble Arm Type: Melee | Elementless | Close-Ranged
Noble Arm Abilities: The weapon manifests as a pair of gauntlets that can switch between two modes. The gauntlets themselves extend up to the wrist and only covers the hands.
Fist Mode: Conveys a flat bonus to physical abilities and senses that push the user to the realm of superhuman. Speed is the aspect that is increased the most. User can break down walls, and take bullet fire with minimal injuries. Mental and Physical drain is low.
Claw Mode: The user gains an immense increase to their physical abilities and senses that passively increases in tandem with the amount of blood in the air. Whether it's the opponent's blood or the user's blood doesn't matter. With this mode, the drain on the body and mind increase exponentially. Additionally, the user loses any sense of pain and gains the ability to fight at full power no matter the injuries received.
Misc Abilities:
Experienced Street Fighter: Vane's street fighting skills are unparalleled with maybe only Keith being able to rival him. He can read the flow of battle quite well. He has a problem dealing with practiced, proper martial artists.
Stamina Freak: Even before gaining his Noble Arm, Vane had a lot of stamina. He could run marathons without getting all that worn down. Running all around his city granted him this quirk.
Personality: Vane is a cheerful sort that doesn't shy away from social interaction. He treat everyone the same with a sunny mood. He can be seen as open to the point of annoying as he likes messing around with people. Sometimes he would even goad someone into a duel because he possesses a masochistic quality. Due to him actually being somewhat introverted in the past, he possesses a keen understanding of people who wish to be left alone. He'd probably still go over to where they are and chat them up though.
Bio: The Vane as a child is very different from the Vane as of now. He was a very introverted and solitary person who only focused on himself. He willingly trapped himself in that solipsistic stagnation, which was destroyed before he could make it a habit by his best friend, Keith. That crazy blonde that he calls a friend was a wild person who was his opposite in every way. A truly amazing person that was a self-proclaimed hero that pulled off many suicidal stunts and came out positive. As a person who gracefully embraced normality, Vane recognized that friend of his as a toxic influence. On the other side, Keith was getting tired of his friend who kept chaining him down.
So, they duked it out. After years of a conflicting friendship that grated on the two, they brutally fought each other, for words couldn't convey the depths of how they felt. Vane envied his friend who could naturally be such an abnormal person. He loved his normality, but he had a secret passion for the abnormal as well.
Of course, with the very embodiment of chaos itself there, the match ended in a strange draw as the two activated their Noble Arms respectively. Keith laughed and suggested that they would finish their fight after they mastered their Noble Arms. Vane took him up on that option, so he needed to find a cheap school that would help him get stronger.
After training extensively by himself, he made a decision on which academy to pick. He rolled some dice, which led him to Trinidad Academy. The hardest part was convincing his parents to let him go. Showing the fact that he possessed a Noble Arm was the only reason why his parents endorsed this impulsive decision of his. It was then that he realized that in his fight with his best friend, some of his personality stuck with Vane. He wonders if the same thing happened with Keith.
*Current Goal: Become stronger than Keith and beat him up the next time they meet.
