Bio

Hello,

I'm 32 years old and I was lured into this forum because of our sick hobby. I come from a background of poetry and roleplaying starting in high school. I was a much better painter than I ever was writing, much less writing other than poetry. Today nothing has changed. I would love to become better and I welcome any critique.

I can handle something like 2 RPs at a time. I can guarantee at least 2 posts a week, typing 300-1500 words between dialogue and detail-oriented posts when the going is good. I can't function without some of that sweet OOC chat.

If you're looking to start a RP, my only restrictions are based on site rules — of which I frequently forget — and I think that a 2 paragraph bottom-line is reasonable. I prefer original characters and original stories.

I'm good for medieval, fantasy, horror, sci-fi, space-faring, western, or especially military/war roleplays. I always have a tiny itch for traditional pirate RPs; however, I've accepted long ago that I can't do it and no longer pursue them. I like gritty settings, tragedy, fast paced scenes, crawling tense scenes and a drop of natural romance. Also, nonsense is always fun.

If you would like to know more or have roleplay questions don't hesitate for a second, send them over.

If you're interested in roleplays with a bit of gunslinging, check out my guide below for some tips and ideas to create a foundation of firearms knowledge.

Oh I know about the intro but wanted to pitch who our character was prior to starting.

You mean where the body came from? The original voice?
Oh I know about the intro but wanted to pitch who our character was prior to starting.

I didn't have a character in mind, just an empty canvas of bones. Inspired by a lot of undead soldier stuff I've seen lately and also, there's some annoying app comic advertisement about a dungeon minion who keeps getting resurrected. Which I'm kind of digging the idea but won't fork up the cash to read it.

I did plan at some point introducing flesh to the character (based on OOC votes) if someone didn't do it IC already. As far as the heart and mind of the character, that's up to each participant to create their own interpretation. Since it's just one shared risen corpse they all share, each post could tell a different story. That's the idea anyway.

At the moment I'm discussing with someone about increasing the time limit and removing post length so people can get involved as they want without the hijinks of restrictions to short fast posts.

Edit: Yeah You could start posting- But actually hold up while I talk out some deets with DraconiWarlord. fyi, I don't have anything IC because I thought the Intro/Welcome post above was IC.

It's almost like I've done this in a different forum.

I was getting confused because I didn't realize the threads are split into IC/OOC. That's cool.

I'd say this likely exists elsewhere. There is no original thought, right? I've seen a few roleplays where you cast votes on the actions of the character and the GM plays it out. I originally wanted to do that but decided I wanted to try something little more surprising, varied and involved for others.

Welcome to One For All

A collaborative pass-the-pipe fantasy role-play where we, the role-players, decide the fate of our character and what they find in this mysterious world. Notice how character is singular. This involves one character that everyone will control, no voting, no obligations. Try it! The rules are simple. I promise. If you have questions or ideas, please discuss it since this RP is subject to evolve!

Synopsis
This adventure involves a troupe of countless souls bound to one body, a blank canvas of bones. Not one of them knows why they are alive again or even how they died. They might have been apothecaries, nobles, soldiers, sorcerers, cobblers, even children in their former lives. One thing for certain is they share a consciousness and they are all connected. The adventure is up to the decisions of the many voices that may come into control of the body at any one time. They all experience what happens. This is an open source fantasy world. Feel free to introduce npcs, creatures, weapons, towns, or other features. Feel free to interact in any way you choose.

Our now nameless character will have no special abilities or magic at first. Basic skeleton soldier. Along the way you will encounter many challenges. Some you may create individually, others the world(gm) might assign. Upon facing them you will be rewarded with a snippets of lore that reveals your host bodies origins layer by layer. These may provide hints for facing later challenges, finding artifacts, or even revealing forgotten anecdotes from your lost soul's connected past. The latter will allow for some new skill, knowledge or ability to be accessed by you and your host.

To address any concerns about the skellybones intro, the body doesn't have to stay that way!

Getting involved does not hold you to an obligation to post, only follow the rules if you do post. No one is relying on your response so no pressure, just enjoy. This is one for all.

Rules

  • Follow general Site rules
    ^
  • When you would like to post, first refresh to ensure there is not a placeholder post. This is a post letting everyone know someone is typing up a new scene. If there isn't one, submit a place-holder post saying "A voice prevails..." Then, edit your placeholder and submit your final post.
    ^
  • Respect the placeholder post. If you see this please wait patiently, someone is typing. If a placeholder is active for more than 24 hours you may post.
    ^
  • Please refrain from elapsing more than 24 hours IC in a single post.
    ^
  • Please post within 24 hrs of your Placeholder. If you create a place holder you should already have anidea of the story you want to tell. There is no post length limit.
    ^
  • Copy/quote the latest post's item/equipment/companion list. Update if needed and include it in your post in a hider. Anything can be killed, broken, lost at your discretion with the exception of those marked (permanent). Permanent items cannot be destroyed or discarded without GM approval or cue. If you have a simple plot arc or wish to add lore via a permanent item, PM a GM.
    ^
  • Refer to the character sheet for abilities and spells. Don't use abilities or magic considered special without discussing with a GM. Pitch your idea and we'll find a way to do whatever it is you imagine by connecting it to the lore first. It's all about discovery and learning from each isolated soul in our character. Eventually the character will have many abilities, but its up to you to unlock them. The descriptions will be loose so you can take your own spin on them.
    ^
  • Godmodding. This should not be a problem here. All I can say is don't do something that will ruin players freedom to immerse into their role or the story world. PM me with questions about content you want to post if you're worried. Otherwise, your post can be as serious, humorous, tragic, lighthearted, or scary as you want.
    ^
  • (Not mandatory) On your first post, choose a unique color for your thought's and "dialogue" other than violet. Also, choose a two word descriptor for your character. Consisting of an adjective and noun like, "anxious teacher" or, "limping axeman." This designation is not for IC atm. Post your color and descriptor in color in OOC chat. This will be used to develop lore in the Vessel's character sheet which connects the characters.

Compendium Of Discoveries and Events

Almost anything can happen in this classic fantasy world. Reading the experiences before you is highly encouraged but not mandatory. Big details will be listed here. This is to more effectively equip you to immerse into your role in this shared experience.

Our story begins...

The rattling of your bones awakens something like consciousness. You lie in the earth about an open slab sarcophagus. Your skull is covered in a layer of dirt and decaying leaves. The knowledge of your life before and your demise fails to manifest, even your name is an empty echo. You claw a stained bony arm free from the soil and cry out, but there is only the clacking of old bones.

You see, eyeless, a glade untouched by civilization around you. The sound of autumn winds trapped beneath the trees brushes through your mind. You feel nothing; immense hunger and the empty cold of undeath. Fallen bodies surround the mound. They lay still and dead as you were, intertwined with tattered cloaks and rusted daggers.

Some unnatural force awakened you, but it sits on the edge of your reason. You feel it is connected to what's on your left wrist. There is a tinged silver bangle, fastened with some energy that feels part of your skeleton. Irremovable. When you look at the bangle the cacophony of a hundred voices fight to dominate your mind. One prevails and hoists your stripped bones from the tomb...

Gunslinger's Bible

Welcome to my guide on the arts of gun-fighting. Here I will introduce you to all the concepts in firearms and tactics that I believe will help pave your way to becoming the hotshot bounty hunter/ soldier/ assassin/ armorer/ fantasyweapondesigner you've always dreamed. This primarily details modern gunfighting techniques and firearms used between the late 19th century and now. I'm sure you'll find something useful here no matter your familiarization with firearms or roleplay genre. So, take and bake!

This is organized into 4 main categories. In experience I will give examples of what someone would experience slinging lead. This should help your sensory-based descriptions. Then I will break down the most common parts and mechanics of firearms and their many accessories. This will give you more insight on the purpose of different components. Also, it gives you a starting point for brewing up your own weapons. Next, the ballistics section will talk about the physics involved in all stages of the bullets life; from the time it is birthed by fire in the chamber, until it unifies with its target. This should demonstrate what you can expect squirting lead every which way. Lastly, the meat and potatoes, I will give an overview of some weapons, tactics and techniques that you might understand being as badass as yourself. This will provide a foundation with which to build your character's style as it pertains to expertly (or ineptly) handling their weapon of choice.

Here's some listenin' for your 45+min journey towards enlightenment.

Disclaimer: This is not an all inclusive list of mechanics, accessories, techniques, etc.

Thanks for reading. Please shoot me a PM if you have comments, questions, requests or suggestions. This will be updated as needed. I hope this information inspires you to create some bonkers-rad gunfighting stories.

Now that you've been smacked upside the head with some tasty deets,
