Current I think I'm starting to hone in on what my particular illness is: either long COVID or ME/CFS. If it's the former, it might be curable. If it's the latter, I don't know how much more I can endure.

@Passable Writer

As Jordan listened to the myriad voices in her head, she could feel her vision swim, shifting the space around her as it became consumed in an all-encompassing fog. As it dissipated, Jordan found herself standing on a dirt road. The area around her was pitch-black, save for the sky above, glittering lights of the stars doing nothing to brighten the space. Here, Jordan could feel a great heaviness and an even greater dread. Somewhere in the dark, somewhere on this road, someone was breathing raggedly.

"Listen, child. On this road, a contract was forged between Man and the first of our fallen brethren. The one whose soul is bound to the dissipating sands of timeโ€”they are your charge. They made a foolish mistake for the sake of revenge."

Jordan hears the breathing getting closer, becoming gravelly and bestial. A newfound gravity begins to sink her shoulders.

"Salvation awaits them, but only you can deliver unto them its glory. What I ask of you is no small matter; you face..."

Jordan watches as a silhouette grows in size, standing at nearly double her height. Antlers, crooked and thorned, threaten to pierce the very night sky, and two hollow white orbs where its eyes might be assumed to exist dare to invade the Divine's very being with simply its gaze.

"...Hell itself."

Beneath the head of the hulking silhouette, Jordan notices a glint in the dark. A pair of coiled serpents, made of silver, devouring themselves as they submerge into the black. She hears a growl as the silhouette lunges toward her, claws outstretched.

Before she can react, the scene has changed, revealing the southern road to Stone's Throw. She has returned to the present, the last frame of the vision burned into her mind: a decaying skull, rotting meat sloughing off the discolored bone in chunks. The jaw of the creature, unhinged and wide, threatening to swallow her whole. The skin, rippling with muscle and scars and abscesses, weeping a sickly fluid. The thirst for blood. The creature, in her newly awakened reliquary of knowledge, seems oddly familiar. The name is dredged from a memory she didn't know she had until now, until it's sifted from the deep and made clear to her.

There's a wendigo in Stone's Throw.

The place was silent for several moments, the signs of someone inside only made apparent through the toppling of some glass object from within. For a time, there was no answer to the knock at the door, but then, it swung open with the width of a hand, the grizzled face of a hungover man peering through the crack as a familiar of cigarettes and faint alcohol wafted out. He sighed, thinking the woman at the door was someone else, but then he heard her speak.

โ€œGood morning. If you have a moment, Iโ€™d like to ask you a few questions about the Clara Mathews situation.โ€

The man stared at Iustina, casually failing to rub the graying stubble on his chin. His eyes shifted in various directions almost imperceptibly, as if the world decided not to stay in one spot. With a gruff clear of this throat, he repositioned his body, standing just a little bit firmer, the sparse light of the sunrise illuminating his lack of a shirt.

"You a cop?" he asks.
Haven't played Arkham Horror. I'll have to give that a try. Same with Horrified. I think it plays along the same lines as Arkham Horror, but deals more with cryptids than cosmic horror.
I will try to catch up soon.

Is there anything about Arbor I should know?

If I'm honest, I may be a little confused as to why Julie was dropped off at this spot particularly.

Arbor's part of the BPA, and he's been practically everywhere you've been when you've investigated your cases with CASS. He doesn't share many details about himself, and he doesn't think highly of what he considers small-time agencies attempting to do big-time work. He takes his cases seriously, but he doesn't take you seriously. He's not exactly full of himself, but he is very prideful.

No reason why you were dropped here. Just wanted to start everyone in different spots that were somewhat sensitive to the plot.
Sorry. Been busy. Responses will be delayed.
Accidentally created a post before it was finished. Would like it deleted, please.
All good. I'll have a post up to address relevant characters tomorrow.
How much PvP is intended, if any? Just curious, cause it doesn't seem intended for PCs to be allies, but not sure if they're meant to be enemies either.

I want to preface this by saying that I don't know exactly where I stand on the PvP front, but if I do decide on including PvP within the actual campaign, how much of it is dependent on the choices of the player characters within. I have a storyline in mind if I decide PvP isn't the play, but alternatively, this campaign could function like a pseudo-sandbox, where Iโ€”as the DMโ€”introduce and progress story elements when they're called for, but I would ultimately let the players develop their own stories in the wake of searching for the Eternal Throne.

To reiterate and answer your question more concisely: there's a non-zero chance that I decide to remove PvP for the most part, that all PCs are meant to be allies (or maybe even enemies should the desire for power become too great, such is the way of the Throne). There's also a chance that PvP is intended after all, with a VERY CLEAR WARNING that your character can (and might) die, and that you should be 100% fine with it happening.

Right now, I'm currently unsure.
Iโ€™m interested to see this get fleshed out more.

Currently in progress. The actual interest check will have more information about the Gods, the world of Makyos and its regions, the magic system of the world (admittedly vague and bare-boned as of right now), and more information on the various antagonists who all have some vested interest in the finding the Throne; there are several. There's probably more info I'm blanking on right nowโ€”and info I can't share until the actual campaign.
Consider this a simple interest gauge. Nothing is currently concrete.

Long ago, the Gods gave to Man a seat of power. They who claimed the Throne were given two things: the blessing of the divine and dominion over Man. For a while, peace and prosperity reigned, but there were those influenced by higher beings to seek the power of the Throne for themselves. This resulted in a terrible war, in which the Godsโ€”once hands-off in their governance of mortalkindโ€”were forced to intervene. Their sheer presence upon the soil resulted in cataclysmic destruction, and so they were made to flee from their creations. However, one refused to leave, forcing themselves into the minds of Man. The other Gods, fearing the obliteration of their children, returned to dispose of their wayward sibling, and this one battle would result in the Divine Banishment, an event that would see the death of the Gods' eldest member.

The Throne, eternal in its existence, was consumed by the land and, eventually, forgotten. History trudged on, and civilizations rose and fell upon its slumbering form, burying it deeper still. Mortalkind has continued living despite the absence of their holy parentage, unaware of the legacy that was left behind.

But, there are those who have learned of the Throne's history, of its strength, and so they wander the land in search of its location, all for the chance to reign over mankind and receive even a modicum of divine power, for even a tiny amount would make a mortal stronger than all the greatest warriors to ever live, combined.

Eternal Throne is a fantasy RP with semi-grimdark elements. Explore the lands of the world of Makyos and encounter friend and foe alike as you search for the titular seat of power. Aim to thwart and deter those who seek its infinite influence, or take the Throne for yourself and claim dominion over all of Man. Bewareโ€”with the Gods having vanished, power is fleeting. Only with their returnโ€”or their rebirthโ€”will you gain the blessing of the divine and, perhaps, reign forever.

This interest check is not official. It is something made as a way to gauge interest for the actual check in the future. What you see here is not detailed, and not final, but the general gist of the RP is the same.
