Ivan stayed where he was, struggling a bit to stay afloat. He was small and very skinny, so he wasn't naturally all that buoyant. He watched Raven floating downstream, and not wanting to be separated from the only companion he had he followed, letting the water pull him downstream. He was still a bit cross with the young man, but he realized in retrospect that doing this was probably the only thing they had left to try. Staying up in the tree and waiting for death wasn't any smarter.

Name: Olivier Henri Richard Ciel LeFebvre, better known as Blink
Age: Unknown, likely no younger than 8 and no older than 11.
Job: Acrobat, contortionist, juggler
Method: He can walk on his hands really fast and shoot small handguns with his mouth. In the dark. He's also just a pretty disturbing kid in general. He's very touchy-feely and promiscuous, and seems to know things he shouldn't at his age. If having a 10 or so year old kid sneak up behind you and feel you up isn't creepy, I don't know what is. He has a really high pain tolerance and will sometimes slice his arms up and laugh just to get people to recoil, but if someone physically attacks him he will cry and panic just like any other child.
Brief Bio - Olivier is a purebred Frenchman, as his name would suggest. Not much is known about his life and he won't talk much, but from what can be gathered from police and Child Protection Service records he was taken from his drug cartel-affiliated parents at the age of five and placed in foster care. He was frequently moved from home to home, many families giving him up with vague complaints of "disturbing behavior". None of them really wanted to specify what exactly it was that he did.
Around the age of seven he was finally placed with a family who decided to adopt him permanently. They wanted to give the child a good life, but had no idea what they were getting into, They noted his interest in acrobatics and impressive flexibility, but also his strange behavior and constant hunger for attention. They couldn't leave him alone for a single minute without the boy panicking and acting out. Every time they tried to discipline him, his behavior would only get more and more off color.
Over the next year or so, he started repeatedly coming to CPS with accusations of sexual abuse by his family, but after several investigations no evidence of such an incident could ever be proven. His parents insisted that he was just a "troubled" child, and vehemently denied all accusations of abusing the boy. He wound up spending a month in juvy later that year when he stabbed a classmate into a coma with a pair of "child-safe" scissors. After this, his family was told by police to keep a careful eye on him, because he was "clearly suffering from emotional trauma". The last anyone ever saw of him was when he checked out of the hospital at the age of eight with several severe cuts on his arms, which he claimed were inflicted by the classmate he stabbed, but police reports notate that they appeared to be self-inflicted. The next day, his foster parents called the police to report him missing. He has not been seen or heard from in France since, and is believed to be dead.

Ivan gritted his teeth to keep himself from shrieking like a little girl as he was plunged into the stream.
Swimming was not a common skill to have in his village, but thankfully Ivan's father had taught him. After a few moments of trying to recover from the sheer startle of being thrown into a rapidly moving bottle of water, he found himself being held up by the arm. "Th-thank you, Raven." He coughed out, taking in frantic gasps of air. "You vere right, this was... what is the word.... stupid. Very stupid. How do you think ve are going to get out!?" He tugged himself out of Raven's grip, slapping the young man across the face. "Mud is all around us! Ve cannot get out, nor can we swim forever! Within the hour, ve vill be out of energy..."

Are we expecting too much from newbs?

@Oliver Dude, I'm 12. Turning 13 in December the 30th. Nice to know another person around my age. ;)

On the matter of newbism, if you believe you're good enough for Casual or Advanced. Try it. I suggest low Advanced if you do really want to try Advanced. I mean, it can be sometimes too much to handle.

Dude, same. Watch out, though... if COPPA gets word that someone your age is using an internet forum, they're going to freak the fuck out and make the mods ban everyone under 15 or whatever the cutoff is.
