I'm honestly sick of updating this. This will probably be ny status for the next four months.

So apparently I have an ear infection as well as some other kind of nasty virus. Fantastic.

Okay.. maybe I panic a little when nobody's posted for 10 hours. I have no life outside the internet.

I don't know how much caffeine I've just injested and I'm pretty sure it was all a mistake.

I'm also gonna say this to, even if the bleeding is stopped Raymond is still at very high risk of some form of infection slipping in. Now i'm not in the medical field. Since there is a major lack of sterile equipment Tiffany used Ray's machete on him to remove the leg and that had been used to fight off walkers so the potential of infection would most likely kill him without antibiotics.

And if he does survive Ray would have to deal with life bound in either a wheelchair or crutches, unless they find a prosthetic floating around somewhere. So Ray wont be running at all anytime soon at all, anyway I said what I needed and gonna drop it at that again not in the medical field but that's about as far as I know. So far the rolls have been in Ray's favor so he could survive or not just have to wait for the rolls ect.

All good points. Again, I was mostly thinking in terms of pain and recovery speed. A broken leg actually hurts more than a severed leg because of the nerve damage and shock involved in amputation. If you look up pictures on the internet of people who've lost limbs due to explosions or animal attacks or whatever, there's a reason they usually look pretty stoic. 1, they're probably about to pass out, and 2, they're not in that much pain.
And thanks for bringing up infection. I totally blanked on the fact that we're in an apocalyptic environment and we don't have sterile tools.

And... we're rolling dice? Since when? Is there a link to where?
@Oliver Okay, real quick - Glad you are taking bio class, it helps but there are people in the rp in the medical profession here IRL. But honestly that doesn't matter. It all depends on the rolls. LLA decides if a character gets better or worse, not the RPer or even myself as the GM. It is left up to the how the dice fall.

Now, as far as Nal's post goes - to Nal's character Ray, she posted correctly considering from the naked eye a broken leg and a thin child are going to look in a lot better condition than someone who just had their leg severed.

OOC - she made the correct call for this situation. Each one has been through something, each are battling different circumstances. Long term, Ray is currently in the worse shape out of all three. Ciel currently is the only one looking at a long term fully recovery in the shortest amount of time.

(Again, it will all depend on the rolls made for LLA, but that is the current standings.)

True, true. I meant in terms of recovery, recovering fully from starvation can take a few weeks (2 at the shortest. Considering that Ciel's only been in full-on starvation for about 2 weeks, he'll probably be fine in about 1-3 weeks realistically), and a broken leg averages about 6 weeks to heal. An amputated leg can be sealed and secured within an hour.

EDIT: While you can "recover" from starvation quite quickly, one's body will still be in starvation mode for up to 3 months. At least that's what my teacher, Google and my Bio textbook are telling me.

EDIT THE 2ND: Though, in retrospect, you're right. Ray is the only one out of the three who cannot be expected to recover fully. Unless he's an axolotl and can regrow severed limbs...
he looked over at the young boy on the bed next to him as the kid laid there and then the other kid that had broken his leg. They were in way better condition then he was,

Really? You sure about that? XD
Having a leg chopped off is terrible, no doubt.
But, while a severed limb is more "deadly" (as in it needs to be treated very quickly or else it's almost certain to cause death from blood loss), it's WAY easier to treat than advanced malnutrition or even a broken leg.
Broken leg kid's probably on a longer road to recovery than Ray, and is actually probably in more pain because Ray's nerves have been cut and he's probably at least in a small amount of shock and can't feel that much.

Not trying to rag on you, though. I'm just at the top of my Biology class and I know how this stuff works.
Accepted~
Thanks!

Everyone's voices sounded very far away and seemed to echo in Ciel's head. The medicine Sana gave him prevented him from continuing to vomit, though at this point there was nothing left to bring up but acid and bile. He felt himself get gently pushed down onto the bed, and heard another bed get wheeled closer to his. He couldn't parse most of what was going on in the room, but it sounded like a few more people had entered, one of them saying something about bleeding....

Dark spots started to appear in his already blurred vision, and every breath he took required effort. Knowing he was very close to blacking out, the eleven year old started to feel panic set in. He'd only fainted on a few other occasions, most of which being asthma related. He'd never actually felt himself grow too weak to stay conscious, and it was frankly terrifying. The last thing he registered was a blurry figure saying "Don't worry little mate, Lyon will--" Then the boy went limp, his eyelids falling shut.
Okay, my parents were like "you were really fucking sick so let's get you to live 5 different tests" so a whole day got flushed down the metaphorical toilet.
I dunno if I can really catch up at this point. I still have no clue what the hell to write because I only have a vague idea of what's happening, and I don't really know when I'm going to be back to my usual level of overactivity on the forums due to medical reasons.
@Oliver do you want to have Will accidentally signed up for the program? I think everyone liked that best haha

Yeah, I think that's best. (o v o)
Okay, I'm basically in half-decent shape now. I had to quickly bang out a post for an RP with a time limit on posts, and I'm writing one for this one now. It should be done no later than tomorrow morning.

Ciel's pain tolerance was usually far from impressive, but he was far too preoccupied with watching the room swirl around to notice the syringe prick through the skin of his arm. He only flinched slightly, breathing quickly and willing himself not to develop any new symptoms. Particularly, at this moment, trying not to pass out. Given that he was tired and sick and starving, it was very likely that he would, but fainting could be indicative of a lot of things and he definitely didn't want to send Sana into more of a panic than she was already in.

If he were any younger and any less experienced in being gravely ill, he probably would have been panicking himself by now. But as it stood, he had a lot worse things to worry about than just feeling like crap. Namely getting abandoned by these people for not getting better fast enough. He had no idea what their limits were. They seemed to have a lot of people, at least for times like these, and he was pretty sure they didn't keep everyone. Before his vision had gone so out of focus, he'd seen another boy in the infirmary who looked possibly even younger than he was. So clearly, they weren't entirely in the habit of eating all the young and useless children who came in. But then again, maybe the kid was a prodigy sharpshooter or just a really great scavenger.

Ciel, still halfway between consciousness and unconsciousness and held upright only by Sana's hand, tried to steady his breathing and seem as calm as possible. No use in making the situation seem worse than it was.
