Slowly, Futility rises from the ashes. Very soon, I hope, we'll be able to wrap up this next round of scenes, but that's like 3-4 posts out at least. The hustle does not stop.

"Hmph." Ryder let out a half scoff half moan as she realized she was noticed by a young farmhand boy. She averted her eyes, trying to cover herself with her dusty and fading red cloak. She didn't carry much with her when she left her home village, but if she had to pick the most important thing she brought, it would be her cloak. A gift from her father... Her fallen father. At least, that is what she had known. He had ran off to join the fight against the Risen and never returned. Ever since then, Ryder had wanted to travel to Ylisstol to help just like her father, and now she was trying to achieve that goal.

Ryder couldn't help but turn away from the young farmhand, who was now seemingly wrestling away from some animals that he had gotten entangled with. She was good with animals and knew she could probably help him, but her shyness got the better of her. She tried to fade into the crowd, her small size helping her achieve her goal. She had also noticed the nearby tactician man. Ryder tried to slip by him away from the crowd. She soon escaped and sat down on the side of the barn. Besides, she was here to eat, look for a pegasus then leave. She needed to get to Ylisstol after all.

Ryder looked inside the pockets of her cloak, counting her gold pieces. It didn't take her very long to count such a small amount. She really didn't have much with her did she? A pout spread across her face. Maybe enough money for one or two more meals. After that, she would be broke, and she still only had her 'Sword' of a branch. She let out another groan, dusting herself off. She had decided to wait until the crowd has dispersed, after which she would go look for food and supplies, or do what people like her do best, borrow some supplies.
Alyn giggled as Jude, Teo, and R went through their troubles fixing the door. She wondered how she ended up in such a guild as this one. Just a small cottage in the forest wasn't very pretty to the outside eye, but it was a home to her. She looked back at Amn with a sad look on her face, I mean, she was on a roll talking to people today. She almost wished she didn't have to go to the tournament with Majikku and leave Amn here with his cat. "Are you sure you don't want to come?" That was all Alyn had managed to say. She wanted to say more, as to invite him to find a spot on her team but she didn't have the courage to.

She slowly started her walk towards the carriage after rolling up the mat and placing it neatly against the wall. She smiled at her tidy little spot. She liked the little corner she basically lived in. Some days she even slept on her mat, but for now, she would have to go some place new. It would be a whole new experience, which didn't entirely appeal to her. She liked her basic and typical life of playing with her bird friends in her corner. With that, she looked up at the carriage, glancing back inside one last time before looking towards the others, already inside.
Redone in another location.

Sora noticed the falcons nearing. He didn't want to protest as Midori talked to Mayura, so he got very antsy. Pacing back and forth, Sora kept glancing at the sky. He knew they needed to move, yet he wasn't the conversationalist of the two. He just couldn't force it out. Midori just held her conversation with Mayura until she too noticed the screeches getting closer and closer. It was then that the falcons breached the treeline. Sora jumped into a battle stance in front of Midori and Mayura. Midori soon joined his side ready to fight.

As the falcons landed, Sora turned his eyes to Mayura, who seemed to be chanting some spell as if taunting the enemy. Sora held his wing back as if to guard Midori from the illumination from Mayura's feathers. Midori gasped as Ranthar burst ablaze. Sora on the other hand, saw an opportunity. He hopped into a glide as everyone was focused on Ranthar, landing near one of the minions and slashing at him with his talons. Blood spilled in the air and Sora didn't simply stop after one slash. He soon finished the minion off soon enough and nodded to Midori as if to notify her about something. Midori then knew that what to do and also attacked the other falcon with her talons only. They both seemed very adept at fighting his only their talons.
Alyn still sitting upon her mat, was peering up at the sky, hoping her bird friends would come back. They had flew off when she had been approached by Majikku. A whimper almost escaped her lips as the bird left. She looked up surprised as another man approached her, but it was just Amn. He came to sit by her occasionally. At first she thought that he just felt sorry for her, but he seemed to enjoy her silence.

Alyn tilted her head to the side every so slightly and smiled as Amn sat in his usual spot. She noticed that he didn't seem to participate in making a team. Alyn was surprised he wished to pass up such a big reward. She would have bit her tongue and not questioned it, but she felt as though she knew him. "H-have you gotten a team? Don't you want to participate?"
Alyn smiles at the idea of a carriage. She wasn't seen moving around often. Plus, she didn't want to slow down her new team. Since someone had finally accepted her into a team, she was ready to try her best to do anything to not be a hindrance. "I also like the idea of hiring some transportation. I will help pay with my share if we win." He contribution was very quiet. It was hard for those to hear her if they weren't close like Majikku.

Sora looked down at himself for a moment as if avoiding to glare at Mayura. He didn't feel such a bird would be much of a help in this sort of situation. After all, the peacock wasn't a bird recognized for its aggression. Midori on the other hand seemed very open to the peacock. "Okay! If you are going to help then..." Midori quickly paused, glancing at Sora, who just tilted his head slightly signaling to do as she wished. Smiling, Midori turned her head back towards Mayura, "Those birds sort of owned us like slaves. Sora was nice enough to help me escape with him!" There was a small hop in her step as she talked about her benefactor, Sora. "We need to avoid them at all costs at the moment..." Sora said, averting his eyes again. He wasn't the most conversational of birds.

"Oh me?" Midori asked as Mayura speaks as if she has never met an owl. Midori did not find this quite strange as she was originally nocturnal and the only owl in their tribe. At least, the last living owl. "I am a Barn Owl, Tyto Albus." She tilts her head to the side in excitement to teach someone else. Midori was used to a life of learning and being the underdog, so she jumped at the chance to be an educator.

Sora and Midori both noticably heard the screeches of the falcons. Sora gave a quick glance at Midori, as if to ask her what to do. Midori just tilted her head and smiled to him. Sora sighed, trying to relax. "Yes Mayura, we know them, but not in a good way. I don't know if you should worry about it. We simply just need to stay away from them." He said, furtively glancing around. He seemed very on edge, especially now that he knew those damned falcons were on the hunt. Midori, still having a smile plastered across her face, was glancing around admiring the new forest. It wasn't too much different than their home, but the species around were very different. "So umm... What are you mister?" She tried not to sound rude but ended up sounding naive. Midori's happiness wasn't a fascade but she was very scared of the falcons.
Alyn let out a quiet gasp as Majikku approached her. She turned her head towards the man as he sat down near her, but was unable to hold a gaze for very long. She averted her eyes as he talked, in a shy manner. Majikku then asked what she hoped someone would. She had a surprised look on her face, for she didn't know anyone would want her in a fighting tournament. No one had even seen if she could use magic other than picking up pens and utensils with her telekinesis. When she spoke, she spoke very quietly in a hushed tone.

"Are you sure you would want someone like me? I would bring your team down when we have to fight." Alyn quietly touched her knives under her robe, unseen by Majikku. She had never shown anyone that trick she learned, and she wasn't sure if she wanted to. Not to mention her more fancy trick. She wanted to keep that to herself forever. "I mean you could have a team with Jude and the others. That way you have a chance at winning."
