Karen rolled her eyes. and entered. She stopped for a moment to watch Edith frantically run around in search of something, though what that something was, Karen had no clue on. Eventually, the girl frantically waved her over, to which Karen just raised an eyebrow at. She sighed, rubber her eyes again, then started making her way towards Edith. She took the corner-most seat, and planted her bag on the table. Another sigh of discontent later, and she had her feet up on the table as well, already uncaring of what Jeromy had talked to her about on the previous day. She didn't bother glancing at anybody, just stared at the ceiling as she leaned back munching on cereal. It was a mystery where the cereal kept on coming from. One second she wasn't holding anything, then the moment someone blinked, she would have the box in her hands. Another mystery to put under Karen's name.

Again, Karen rolled her eyes at the both of them. The entire concept was foreign to her, once again, and their displays of happiness confused the absolute fuck out of her, but despite that, she just rubbed her eyes with her forefinger and thumb, then sighed deeply.
"Yes. It means we're... friends. Walk faster." Even the word 'friends' sounded odd to Karen, and again, her warning klaxons were blaring in her mind. God, even saying it left a sour taste in Karen's mouth. She turned back around, then continued towards the classroom with a bit of haste. She didn't care if she was late, to be honest, she just wanted to escape the... pleasantries. It was too different to actually get enjoyment out of, that was certain. She felt differently than the other two, one was energetic, and seemed to hide very little, save a bit of embarrassment. The other looked and spoke like she was insane. She was obviously hiding something, be it her true personality, or her past, Karen didn't know, nor did she care at the moment. They were both leagues different to Karen. They had different ideals, and much different ways of passing the time... and yet Karen just accepted them as 'friends'. If only she knew what friendship actually entailed. Poor, poor Karen, going to have to spend time with people now. Woe to her.

Karen simply rolled her eyes at both of the girls, before jolting her head in the direction of the classroom, which was still a fair bit away. She sighed, and with some disdain, spoke. The reasoning behind her tone was due to her tsundere-ness, but she wouldn't tell anyone that. She was 100% tsun, 0% dere, so any attempt at proper conversation would go nowhere.
"I waited for both of you. Let's go." she simply stated, not caring about what the other students thought of her tone, or even her reasoning behind waiting for them. To be honest, even she didn't know why she waited. She rolled her shoulders, then stuck her thumbs into her pants, because the school, UA or not, had NO chance of getting her to wear a skirt. She would rather die than wear anything like that, but anyway, she stuck her thumbs into her pants, turned on her heels, then started making her way back towards the classroom, looking back to see whether or not the two girls followed her or not, if the former, then she'd continue walking, albeit slightly slower, but if the latter, she wouldn't care, make a 'tisk' noise under her breath, then continue walking towards the classroom without looking back again. Something really bugged Karen about her behaviours. Something both sinister and foreign to her. Was the prospect of possibly making friends that different to her that she felt danger from it? Probably. But she masked all of her emotions perfectly, hiding them down in the deep recesses of her mind, then covered them in the void that is the rest of her mind. Whatever it was she was feeling, she made sure she was the only one that could see it.

Karen followed without a word, nor did she pay attention to the odd smile on the bloodied girls' face. Once at the showers, she simply stripped, not caring what the other girl saw, and stepped in. She let the water run through her hair, which now had lost the flames, but remained a dark red, her natural hair colour. She felt every drop on her, and each one left a tang of pain resonating through her body, but she neither cared nor did she react to them. Eventually, she stopped, and stepped out of the shower, drying herself with a towel, again, without caring what of her was seen and what wasn't. She changed into the spare change of clothes she brought with her, turned her hair alight, and made her way out of the showers munching cereal. She nodded to Koharu and Edith, then started making her way to class. Social interaction was a bother, but... something about it was different to what she normally felt, so she stopped after a while, and leaned against some lockers, waiting for the other two, arms crossed, and another plain look plastered on her face. What the fuck are you doing, Karen?, she thought to herself. Something about this just screamed danger, but she didn't know what.

@LemonZest1337
Karen caught where Koharu's eyes drifted for but a moment, but to the outside, whether or not she noticed would be up in the air. She knew her shirt was getting more showy, though she honestly couldn't care. She 'hmph'd, and straightened up.
"Thanks." she said, again in a voice devoid of all emotion, save maybe an impatient undertone, before she turned on her heels and took a couple of steps away from Koharu. She sighed, and stopped, after hearing a girl ask how to clean herself. Her parents wanted her to fit in, and she didn't get off on the best fokt yesterday, so she might as well try now.

@TheMushroomLord
"Upstairs. Third floor. Follow me, or don't, I don't really care." She shrugged as she spoke, again actually indifferent about everything. She then moved her mind to thinking where the showers were. She assumed they were different to the ones in the chsnging rooms, so she hadn't visited them yet. After another mental sigh, she slightly turned her head to have Koharu in her peripheral, then subtly motioned her head towards the door. What a bloody bother this was. First she asked if someone wanted to go with her, and now she asked someone else to guide her there. God she hoped she didn't have to be more social today. She already had her fill.

Karen was awake by 6am. Her body clock being practically programmed that way, no matter what time she went to sleep. Her eyes were still slightly red from all the crying she did, but she quickly changed that by stripping, standing in the middle of her room, then turning on her quirk. Her body became coated in flames, her skin literally getting lost underneath them. The turn-on completely dried her eyes, and when she turned it off, her eyes were back to normal. She burned the tears from existence, and nodded to herself. She wasted her time simply by working out, only getting herself up to a sweat, but not pushing hard enough for her to be exhausted during class. The moment the alarms went off, she mearly sighed to herself, then pulled on some underwear and a shirt, before picking up a spare change of clothes, and her cereal. She made her way towards the showers, but took a small detour towards the alarm. Already, her shirt was sticking to her skin from all the sweat, but she didn't seem to mind, and not many boys could stare at her without being stared back at, only more intense and much more threatening. As she reached the alarm, she looked down at Koharu, then, surprisingly, gently pushed the alarm button to stop. She was holding her spare change of clothes under one of her arms, and used her other to pour some cereal into her mouth, straight from the box. Without registering emotion once more, she looked down at Koharu, and although she looked menacing, dangerous and completely batshit crazy, she didn't seem threatening.
"Where're the showers?"

She looked the small girl over, which was easy considering how small she was, and decided to be slightly less scary. She leaned down to be (almost) face to face with her, but maintained her blank expression. With every passing moment, her shirt clung to her skin a little bit more as it slowly became drenched with sweat. Also if Koharu could smell it, she had the faintest smell of smoke since she had a cigarette before she left her room.

Karen eventually reached her room after the confrontation she had with the arrogant boy. She wasn't happy, but god was she tired. She entered, and after some period of time unpacking whatever few items of clothing she had, she pulled out a decently long pole with claws on either end, and leaned it against the wall while she continued searching her bag. Eventually, she finished unpacking everything else. She sat on the foot of her bed, and stared at the wall, taking in the silence, and enjoying it. Minutes passed, then an hour, and she was still staring at the wall, her mind off in another place, before she jolted back to her senses. She saw the time, and almost swore at herself. Instead, she stood back up, picked up the metal bar that seemed adjustable, and opened her door. She reached up, and adjusted the bar so that both of its 'claws' touched either side of the doorframe, then she adjusted the claws so that they were firmly attached, and made sure they wouldn't come loose. After all that was done, she jumped up and grabbed onto the bar with a grunt, then started pulling herself up to the bar, making sure she got her chin above it every time, and then back down, then repeated that for almost thirty minutes. She eventually dropped down, and, while panting from the exertion, removed the bar, and threw it back into her room.

She closed her door quietly, and leaned back against it, trying to gather her breath, before dropping to the ground after under a minute of rest time, and started doing pushups until her arms could no longer hold her weight. And there she lay, anger brewing inside her for unknown reasons.
She had to beat herself up. She needed to be the best. She had to be strong. She would show everybody who doubted her just how wrong they were. With another grunt, she pushed herself up and bounced to her feet, feeling the pain ebb across the muscles in her arms, before she wiped the already boiling sweat off of her brow, and easing herself onto her bed. She sighed, then reached over and grabbed her phone. Without thinking, she dialed a number, and within three rings, it was answered.
"Karen? Karen oh my god! How was your first day sweety? Did you make any friends? How was your teacher? What did you have to do? Were there any cute boys there? Have you eate-!"
"Mum! God, one question at a time please... It was fine, I made plenty of friends, my teacher seems very laid back, my class tested our quirks, yes there were some cute boys, and yes I have eaten. Is that all? I can't be on for much, I need to rest."
Of course sweety, your dad just wants to congratulate you, then we'll leave you be. God you're growing up so fast!"
The sound of her mother slowly grew quieter as the phone handover was underway, then another gruff voice, somewhat similar to Karen's, although a lot deeper, responded.
"How's my little soldier going?"
Karen couldn't help but smile, something that looked absolutely alien on her normally hard and angry looking face, and she mentally saluted her father.
Good, sir. I trust the fort's been quiet with me gone?"
Aye, it has. And- yes, yes, sorry, we won't keep you. Your mother is biting my head off because I'm talking too long. Anyway Karen, you're going to be double the hero your mother or I ever were and you'll just keep on getting better, I can tell. We both love you. Have a good sleep, we'll always be rooting for you. Oh, and Karen... we're both so proud of you."
Karen couldn't help it. Her voice cracked for the slightest moment before she cleared it, then bit her tongue for but a moment.
"Love you too... Dad, mum. Signin' off."
And with that, she hung up. She couldn't bare to let her father hear her cry, and cry she did. It was the first time her father was proud of her, and to her, that meant the world. She sniffled, after some time, then wiped her eyes with the back of her hand, her tears already steaming. She leaned over and grabbed a fire-proof blanket, and lay it over her pillow before resting her head on it. She reached over, and turned her bedside light off, then closed her teary eyes, and entered the realm of dreamless sleep.

Karen's eye twitched at once again being disturbed. This was fourth time today, possibly fifth if she counted what happened in the classroom. That was five too many for her. With barely a moments thought, Karen moved herself closer to Navarre, and took hold of his collar with her hands. She stared him in the eyes, hers only displaying animosity and hatred, then slowly both her uniform and Navarre's started smoking as she started turning up the heat inside her, marginally increasing how hot she felt. She was like an open flame, but without the burns afterwards, and slowly she worked her way up towards feeling like a furnace. Even others from some metres away would possibly start sweating. She continued staring at him for a few more moments to let it sink in. She wanted him to know that she was to be feared. Talking to her, like that at least, was a death wish. She never enjoyed arrogance, and this boy stunk of it. Reeked off of him like a pungent cologne. She ground her teeth together, and pushed him back with slight force, satisfied that her point had gone across. Navarre's shirt would feel like it was just ironed, and would somewhat stick to his skin for at least a minute or two. She inhaled slowly, then went to move past Navarre, her temperature returning to normal, as did the temperature around her.
"Consider yourself forgiven. I wouldn't talk to me again."

And with that, she walked away, back towards the dorms. She had enough of today. The next time somebody bothered her, they would NOT come out of it unscathed like the others did.

Karen's head tilted to the side slightly at the winged girls exclamation, and watched her run out, quickly followed by the teacher. She inwardly laughed at her, then stood up, not caring about how far back her chair slid back, then picked up her bag, and started walking out of the class, only briefly slowing down to look at Navarre, giving him a stare of anger and another emotion, one that nobody could identify, and that was the look of slight guilt. Her look didn't last long, and she soon resumed her previous speed, and walked out barely a second after giving him the look. It took her some time to pinpoint the location of the dorm in which she would be staying, but she took a detour up a fire escape, heading towards the roof, doing her best to go unnoticed. Once there, she sat in the centre of the open space roof, lay back, and reached into her bag. After some moments of scrounging around, she eventually pulled her hand out with a small packet of cigarettes. She pulled one out, and lit it up with her hair. She inspected it for a moment, before putting the end that wasn't on fire in her mouth, and taking a long and calming puff. It was technically illegal for someone her age to be smoking, but she didn't care, and she could dispose of the evidence in under a second.

She just lay there, inhaling the smoke, then exhaling. It didn't affect her like it did a normal person, the smoke in her lungs just calmed her, but put her at no risk of cancer. The day went by swimmingly, in her eyes. She already made a couple enemies, and that'll just spice up the rest of the year. As uncaring as she seemed, however, Karen payed attention to the entire class. The students that came in late, the reactions of the other students at the results of the exams, and how they all reacted to the drama that occurred. She too, was practically stunned by the results, though she didn't really care. Her teacher definitely blind-sided the entire class, and she did not like that. Pulling the wool over Karen's eyes was very dangerous, and a very, very stupid move. The students were also puzzling. First there was the white haired boy, someone she didn't like from the start, and now only cemented her dislike of him. Not to mention he was a psychic. She had dealt with some before, so she knew how to keep them out of the dark places of her head, but this one seemed strong, and very emotional, so she'd have to very heavily monitor what she thought in front of him, lest he call her out on things. Now, the winged girl. She was much more confusing. She spoke when nobody spoke to her, then followed that up by screaming at nobody. Either she was insane, which Karen would place her bets on, or she was more more complicated than first impressions would imply. And finally, the last person she payed slightly more attention was the boy that bumped into her. She wouldn't have looked at him, had she not felt slight guilt at almost knocking him out. If she was a fairer person, she would have apologised for it, but as far as she was concerned, her apology was not scolding him for bumping into him. Fair, in her mind. She took one last puff of her cigarette, before she closed her palm around it, not at all bothered by the ashes. She ground her fingers against it for a while, before unravelling her hands and blowing the ash into the wind, scattering all evidence of her illegal activity. She walked back down, and went back to walking towards the dormitory.
Karen didn't flinch one bit. She wasn't being insulted, per say, but some unknown classmember of hers called her out, and she was going to strike back, hard. She didn't move from her seated position at the table, but the air around her cooled back to normal temperature. Ironic, how she was about to roast him.
"Because, idiot, just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should. The tests weren't to test our limitations, they were to test our reliance on them. Obviously a sickly cripple like you needs your quirk to live, but the rest of us don't. And for all you know, I could have used my quirk and it could have done something to alter my score, but I didn't. Now sit your frail arse down before you have a heart attack."
And with that, she dismissed him more or less with a flick of her head towards him, followed with a piercing stare that could freeze a person. Again, ironic. She then made a 'Tsk' sound, and looked away, eyeing Raven, since she was still somewhat angry at her for speaking. Her arms remained crossed as she dropped her eyes to the table, then closed them. This day just got a little bit more interesting.
