@thewizardguy Straightup just grabbed the first bit of technobabble off the top of my head. Now that I think about it, it doesn't make much sense, I'll change it.

With regards to the Ashtar as a faction, a few galaxies is a drop in the ocean of an omniverse. Their scale isn't really very important though, so it could just as easily be 5 galaxies.

Llyena

Name(s): Llyena Verath, Grand High Admiral of the Sacred Armadas (ret’d), Betrayer of Hope, Dawnseeker, Mortal Ascendiant, Kingslayer, The Way Made Clear

Appearance: Irrelevant. The Ashtar are reptilian humanoids, but they make a point of concealing themselves in flowing robes and obscuring mists. Beneath that, Llyena has the characteristic smooth reptilian skin and angular features of an Ashtar. Her hair is medium length and dark; her nose is thin and pointed; her eyes are a piercing glowing blue.

Faction: Ashtar

Abilities: Llyena is an accomplished psintegrat. She is fully capable of basic and higher level telekinetic manipulation; anything from throwing objects to molecular manipulation. Her preferred attacks are simpler warps that generate blasts of psionic energy.

Equipment: Powered battle armour; built in energy pulse weaponry, limited flight capabilities, cybernetic interfaces, wrist mounted psi-blades, shielding systems

Personality: Among a generally sober and reflective people, Llyena’s compassion and quick temper stand out. She’s slow to trust, but quick to defend her friends and allies. In any group setting, Llyena is outspoken and assertive. She wears the concealing facade of calm dignity common to her people, but she is much quicker to discard it than others, particularly if her temper gets the best of her.

Short Bio: Llyena has an extremely long and storied past, ranging back a few hundred thousand years and crossing multiple lives and types of life. Diplomat, Admiral, Wife, Mother, Empress, Ascendiant, Exile; countless memories dance around her mind, frustratingly incomplete. Most recently, Llyena has retired from commanding the Ashtar fleets, and instead been entrusted to act as a sort of multi-universal diplomat. Operating a small corvette with inter-universal capabilities, Llyena has been poking her nose into the Omniverse conflict, trying to figure out the Ashtar’s place in it all.

Name: The Ashtar Domains

Scale: Multi-galactic

Capabilities: While relatively new to the multiverse scene, the Ashtar are quick studies. They have the resources of the entire Dantalion galactic cluster (~50 galaxies) available to power their vast war machine, and individually their psionic abilities make them formidable soldiers. Huge capital ships thousands of kilometers long, armies of trillions, and planetary destruction weapons mean the Ashtar are a formidable force, despite their relatively small size. They have had interdimensional capability for some time, but have only recently managed to adapt that tech for inter-universal travel.

The mainstay of Ashtar technology is currently based around exotic particle manipulation, providing ample power sources and heavy energy weapons. Since their introduction to the multiverse, the Ashtar have rapidly begun developing new technologies based on the huge influx of information from the many other universes they have since visited. All-forces-nullification weapons are being mounted on the next generation of warships; quantum vacuum singularities will provide near infinite power; pocket dimension shields will render ships nigh invulnerable, while temporal stasis construction yards will build new war machines almost instantly.

Individually, the Ashtar are highly psychic, and share a unified conscious they simply call the Union. Through the Union, they share all thoughts, feelings, and knowledge. Even the least skilled Ashtar can lift and move objects via telekinesis, while the most capable can generate blasts of fire and lightning by applying telekinesis on a molecular level. The Ashtar also have a large number of ‘warps’ in their arsenal; simplified psionic patterns that can produce more complex results, making elaborate telekinesis more widely available. Most importantly, the Union allows an Ashtar’s mind to survive the death of its body, to be placed in a newly cloned body later, granting the Ashtar a form of immortality.

Cass has...mellowed out considerably after centuries of low activity, not to mention the influence of an Archangel in his head. He’s still somewhat hot headed and quick to lose his temper, and he has a tendency to be a little grouchy. However, shielded of the dark influences of inferno, Cass has become almost likeable, for a grouch. Oddly enough, he works as a paramedic in the city. Cass enjoys the hectic pace of the work, and it often brings him into close proximity with death and destruction. The irony of actually saving lives is also highly amusing to him. He generally arrives on scene with an amused smile and a gung ho attitude.

Cass doesn’t really have any close friends; even the EMTs he rides with are no more than pleasant coworkers. But he does have dogs. Cass developed a habit of taking in stray dogs over the years, usually off the streets, sometimes from shelters. He especially likes the vicious ones; something about taking them in and shaping their personalities is deeply satisfying to him. He instills them with iron discipline and trains them to attack on command. He’s had as many as nine, but currently has six: A pitbull, two german shepherd-esque mutts, some kind of doberman/labrador mix, a mutt without any clear traits at all, and a beautiful purebred rottweiler. Though Cass wouldn’t admit it, he absolutely loves his dogs; they’re the only family he’s ever had.

History:

Cass is an older demon, and a very famous one among his kind. Previously one of Inferno’s greatest warriors, he spent centuries happily fighting in the Empyrean War across multiple planes of existence.

Humans may not recognize his name, but they know of his handiwork. Babylon, Troy, Carthage, the Sacking of Rome; all his doing. Cass is quite proud of the work; he delights in the excesses of hatred and slaughter, and he loves spurring humans to do the same. Carthage remains to this day his favorite memory: running with red-eyed legionaires through the streets, raping, murdering, burning, butchering, and then, to top it all off, salting the earth so nothing would ever grow there again. Destruction is his goal, chaos his modus operandi.

It all changed at Constantinople. Cass was among the Ottoman armies as they took the city, but it was a trap. The walls of the city had crumbled, and Cass was just hitting his stride, burning his way to the Palace, hoping to encounter Empress Theodozia, who was reputed to be the most beautiful woman of her era. When he finally butchered his way into the palace, he discovered that Theodozia was indeed beautiful...too beautiful to be human. She was the Archangel Mariel. The two of them fought bitterly, but ultimately Castornus gained the upper hand. As he struck the killing blow, Mariel did...something. She died by his hands, her head caved in by his bare fists, but something had changed. Cass left the palace, intent on getting to the business of properly destroying the city, but as he began to exert his powers, burning light exploded in his mind and Mariel’s wondrous face appeared before his eyes. Cass was driven from the city, screaming in agony, and haunted by the dead Archangel. Constantinople gained new rulers and a new name, but remained quite intact, and relatively few civilians died.

What exactly Mariel did remains a mystery, but it quickly became clear she’d crippled Cass. Every time he tried to use his powers properly, he was filled with agonizing pain, and Mariel’s haunting image would sternly glare at him, lovely and terrifying at the same time. Cass became a laughing stock amongst the denizens of Inferno; a lame old warhorse, good for nothing, a relic of another time. Occasionally, he’d try to get back out there, limiting the use of his powers, but Mariel had indeed crippled him.

Desperate to escape her curse and return to his old ways, Cass fled to Fall Hollow, hoping the mortal plain would shield him from her influence, but to no avail. He’s since settled down in the city, hoping that someday he can find a way to lift the curse.

He’s had no luck in the last 60 years or so, and Cass has more or less resigned himself to his fate. He has a modest apartment downtown; itt’s not a perfect existence, but it’s good enough.
