I'd like to claim Republica, if that is OK.
First time on the forum, but I love Diplomacy. Sorry I am late!

Kewl. Send thine unit positions via PM. We can start as soon you do so.
Akai and Yamimori Kurokawa (Polaris North)
David Alexander Robin (TheHangedMan)

Worry filled Elizabeth when Akai suddenly collapsed. Yamimori carried his unconscious sister away from the field and explained the connection between the elemental siblings. "I see." Ant Girl was still worried. There was no way she can let a guest spend her vulnerable, unconscious time outside in a field of battle.

"Mister Yamimori, would you please follow me to the infirmary. This is no place for your sister to rest, even if she is freezing the area she is resting on." If Yamimori agreed, Ant Girl would lead the siblings away from the field and leaving David, Casper and Keith to their own.

The demonstration fight was still going on though.

Casper Warrick (KaelRavenheart)

"Oh? What was that? 'Bawk, bawk, bawk'? Sorry man but I don't speak chicken." Keith taunted as he sheathed one of his katanas, now wielding only one blade that was pointed at you.

The mercenary slowly circled and closed the distance between you and him. He made no sudden action and the katana was still pointed at you, waiting for your move. "Pssst, the girls in this joint are pretty hot ain't they?" Keith whispered to you once he was close enough. "I wouldn't go for Lizzie though. She looks like she can break your Sergent Johnson with her Paris Hilton."

"The safest one is the Chinese one though it'll be over before you know it." He added. "But hey at least you're not hurt."
I think t would be unfair to allow Republica to be free land. that gives an unfair bonus to the UF, Antegria, and Impor. I know this isn't about playing fair, but nonetheless, GM decree in my opinion shouldn't aid one side or the other. I would recommend making it a wasteland passage, devoid of supply centers but simply providing a path of attack.

Naaaaah. It ain't my fault no one claimed Republia. You'll just have to outmaneuver your bigger foes politically.

If you want, you can switch countries.
Before Yuri could exit the alleyway, Lee loudly declared to Ethan that Yuri come with them. Her hands ripped upward, lifting the Russian into a ball water. Its hold was gentle and it kept Yuri's face free. "Wha--?" The revolutionary had seen and experienced plenty of stuff but never being carried via water and he doubted it was an experience shared by many.

The Cyborgel ran at Ethan and leapt onto his bike as the sirens came closer. She commanded the mechanic to hit it and drive he did, the situation getting to him.

After the fleeing bike dodged some traffic and lost container of scrap metal, Yuri heard Ethan demand that Lee let go of him since he did not want to get in further trouble. "You are running from the police, boy! Not to mention repaired a Cyborgel! You might as well join the Revolution!" The Russian told Ethan.

"Like I said, there are abandoned streets and buildings near here. We can hide there or in your place." Yuri gave hints to the driver.
Even if it was fine either way, Walter was a bit happy that the girls decided to stick with him.

Leading them through the gymnasium, like the classrooms Walter pointed the landmarks that lead to the place. Though the fact that someone sensed his power remained. He wondered if the two girls he was with were also harboring special abilities of their own. Of course he cannot flat out ask them directly as that would likely make the average person lie. He needed a question that would give him the true answer but also not hurt the girls' feelings.

He thought of one but it may cost him his reputation but reputation was of little importance to Walter. "Hey girls, if... if I told you I had been alive since the Middle Ages, what would you say about that?" He asked the girls.
I'm new to this but I'm interested in Antegria if you'll let me, to bad that the only two open countries are bordered on all sides

Of course I'll let you. Don't forget to PM me your armies.
If no one grabs Republia or Antegria in... one day, I'll start the RP with the unclaimed countries as free land.
The blonde g-- boy said that dresses were more comfortable to wear. "Oh. Very well." It was unusual but nonetheless logical. Walter could get behind it.

The new male with pale skin then called Walter, telling the janitor to leave since the immortal was acting up his allergies because of Walter's disconnection to death. As the male sneezed, Walter made a big inhale before giving his response. "I see. Okay then." There was now evidence for Walter that Orean Cause is not an average school.

With the janitor cart, the immortal took his leave but not before telling the blonde g-- boy. "My presence is unwanted here but if you would like to continue the tour, you can come with me."

It looked like Ethan identified Yuri as a revolutionary much to the Russian's chagrin. The mechanic immediately tried to sever contact from Yuri by saying he is merely a worker and want nothing to do with the conflict between the Revolution and the Desium Corp and New Society.

"Ah but by repairing the Cyborgel to functioning condition, you already have something to do with the conflict. It may be small but it is clearly an act against Desium Corp., yes?" Yuri said, his tone polite and not at all hostile despite the words themselves. "Great job, by the way."

The mechanic, still wary of the revolutionary, began walking towards his hoverbike. Yuri wondered if he was going to report the Russian. It was doubtful since Yuri could report him back and they would be both in trouble. But all that did not seem to matter for Lee the Cyborgel stopped the mechanic.

Lee told Ethan that Yuri knew something about her and demanded that he come along. Both Lee and Yuri turned to the mechanic for the answer. A few moments of silence passed before Ethan gave his answer in the form of alerting the police through his holopanel.

The action startled and disappointed Yuri. "What are you doing?! They will destroy us both and scrap the Cyborgel once more!" The Russian yelled at the mechanic. "We need to vacate the area. There are abandoned buildings near here but if you want, you can head back to your shop to hide."

Should he be uninterrupted, Yuri will take off his raincoat, revealing a set of fine clothes fitting for a citizen of New Society. Pulling out an umbrella, he will tell Ethan. "Be careful, okay? You are not a bad man, maybe a bit close-minded but not bad. Keep her safe, she is part of our salvation."

With his leather-gloved hands, the Russian would pick up his raincoat and throw it in the garbage along with his weapon. "Tsk. That was vintage." Yuri would quickly exit the alleyway with the open umbrella, looking like another New Society citizen.

If you go onto those red lines without a valid Transit of Group Visa (will post later), then it is an act of war. Yes, I will make people fill this out. I also have treaty texts, declarations of war, and pardons.

Everyone's objective is to take over the world (unless everyone decides a draw), you ARE going to war and your borders WILL be crossed.

I was looking at some tutorials, and had a question: can airborne convoy over land (since there is practically no sea sea territories), and if so, can I get some specifics on what that would look like? Also, if there is a round two, can we do either Europe or a custom map with some seas?

There is no convoying in this game. There might be when we switch maps but that's in the far future.

Question: For ay negotiation, anything goes, right? So long as you are not giving yourself armies and magically gaining territory?

Indeed.

How are tiebreakers resolved?

With the most effective tiebreaker: COIN TOSS!

ADDITIONAL INFO:

1. Surprise attacks - Say (you knew) Arstotzka has two armies in City A and two armies and City B that is going to attack (your) Kolechia's City C. City C only has two armies and will lose the engagement. However, the nearby City D, which has two armies, can attack City A. Kolechia can issue a 'surprise attack' on City A with City D. The City D armies will intercept the City A armies. If they win, they take City A but if they don't, they simply retreat. Either way, the City A army will NOT attack City C.

If you forgot to put 'surprise' in the attack, armies of City A and B will take City C and the army of City D will take the ungarrisoned City A. The two units that must exit City C can go to City E (they cannot attack City A 'cause units can only fight once). Of course, if City A was their only way out, those two units will be destroyed/disbanded.

You can also use surprise attacks to prevent enemies from attacking your allies... or prevent your 'allies' from attacking your 'enemies'.
