It's incredible how if you give someone just the tiniest bit of power over others they'll turn into the most self-righteous, selfish, impatient fuckers you will ever meet.

How are some writers on this site still incapable of knowing how a comma works?! It's like the second easy piece of punctuation you learn about as a kid!!!

It'll always be confusing to me when some people regard two or three sentences in an IC post as putting in effort with the writing, yet they consider themselves at a casual/advanced level.

Will get my post up some time today! @Raijinslayer, how about Topaz pops up near Reggie? It could make for an interesting interaction!
@LunarBriarRose

Yes, I know none of it happened in Disney - hence my inquiry as to why Hera was depicted as a villain in the other person's backstory.
@LunarBriarRose

Yes, I'm aware of all that. Turning Heracles insane and making him murder his wife and children, and then making him go through the Twelve Labours to atone for it. Then he get's poisoned with Centaur blood by his second wife. Poor guy got a crappy hand in life, but I guess that's what happens when Hera is your Step-Mom and your Dad is the biggest whore of the heavens.

Anyway, I digress. All of the Olympian Gods did villainous things (Ironically enough, Hades was probably the one of the least villainous of them all, to some extent - at least out the Big 3.), so he'll still be in the Underworld. At least I can make him go from outright evil to morally gray; you'd think Hera would be on the Isle of the Lost too, after what she did.
Pleasure to be writing with you all! :D
@The1Rolling1Boy

I am good, looking forward for this to begin - as well as looking for a few new roleplays to join. I'm not in many at the moment.

Also, I was wondering something: Is there going to be a hierarchy made up for all of the news gems introduced? Like we know some have been listed as warriors or scientists, but where would they be in the hierarchical structure of the Gem homeworld? Would a Clinohumite be on the same level as a Jasper, or below, or above? Just some food for thought I had. :)
"I think this must be the worst day of my life. Well... more than a day actually. Or is it?" Ayya's internal monologue paused, exhausted and on-edge brain trying to work out how long it had been since leaving "The Star-Searcher". Had it been more than a day? Her body was exhausted, from lack of sleep, to bursts of adrenaline coming and going, to pure mental and emotional tiredness. It felt like it had been weeks since she'd slept in a comfortable hammock. In fact, she was so tired right now she'd settle for a hard piece of floor to curl up on and black out for the next couple of hours.

But now was not the time.

On a strange ship that had broken down near the poor, destroyed Alderaan, Ayya was surrounded by enemies. She had no idea of their numbers or how dangerous they truly were, but she knew they had no qualms in harming her. From dragging her out of her escape pod without so much as a word, brandishing guns at her and confiscating her items before throwing her roughly into a cell, it was clear they were not friendly. In those few hours (Had they been hours? Minutes? With no planet left for the ship to orbit around, Ayya couldn't even gauge her time from peering out of the measly window in her cell). she had pressed herself against the wall; tired, but with too much fear and apprehension about her current situation to sleep. After a while, her mouth grew dry and her stomach began to grumble. Her wrists and throat from where she had been grasped back on the ship she had considered home were beginning to bruise up; thoughts were the only things keeping her company, and Ayya had no want to think about the events of the past just yet. She wasn't ready.

And then, the power left the ship sharply all of a sudden; plunging her cell into darkness before the eerie red emergency lights blinked on.

But her door had not re-locked itself.

She was free.

Since then, Ayya had scoured the ship; sticking to the shadows and avoiding places where she heard voices or footsteps - wanting to find her precious belongings, and hopefully some kind of ship in a hanger that could take her far away from here. Coruscant was the first place to come to mind, but after what had happened... what she did... she felt fear at being so close to the seat of the Empire. Although still in denial about what she had done, Ayya knew the penalty of being caught with powers like that. It was not worth satisfying the homesickness in her heart.

Her stealth only lasted so long; an engineer was the first to discover her; pressed against a shadowed wall in the hopes he would pass by her, unnoticed. But his head turned, and although she could not see his eyes past those blank, black slates of his helmet, she could sense his surprise. Even moreso when she jumped upon him, pressing all of her weight against the weak spot of his armour in the neck as the pair fell. A sickening crack and the man's arms suddenly contorting, then falling limp to his side showed that her tactic had worked well enough. Taking the only weapon he had - a small laser, used to cut holes in metal panels for emergency repairs. Not exactly a weapon, but it would do the job.

And so it did, with the next foes she ran into; two stormtroopers. One was injured, clutching a bloodied arm to himself and slumped against the wall while the other attempted to contact others on his comm link. The uninjured one didn't see her coming - didn't notice until she'd launched herself on his back, jabbing the laser at whatever flesh she could find. The laser burnt through the armour with a sickening smell of burning plastic, and the Stormtroopers garbled screams of pain were cut short as it passed through his voicebox. Leaving him choking on his own blood - a fair bit of it on herself - Ayya killed the injured one with a single shot to the head; gun courtesy of the one who life she had just ended. For these men, she felt no sympathy or sickness in killing them. She had killed before, and for what they had done, what they were responsible for... Ayya had never been to Alderaan, nor known anyone from there. But to destroy an entire planet and it's people was unforgivable.

Following this, Ayya was lucky in running into nobody else. Finding the storage area, she retrieved her bag of personal belongings and other things taken from her, allowing herself a wan and nostalgic smile at the sight of a stuffed Tooka doll at the bottom of the bag. One of the only things from Ryloth, she'd kept it with her everywhere she went. As Ayya's thumb brushed over the soft toy's head, she nearly dropped her bag in shock as the doors to the storage bay opened. Light filtered through into the dark storage bay, flickering with shadows as the figure of a man stepped before it. Darting behind a large crate, Ayya hoped whoever it was hadn't seen her. While she had no qualms in killing stormtroopers when they wanted to kill her, she didn't particularly enjoy doing it.

@LunarBriarRose

Will I be able to alter to Hades as he was in the original myths then?
@LunarBriarRose

Oh, I'm glad you do! I was wondering if she was too over-powered, but I suppose a lot of the other kids have powerful magic too.
Also... I do hope I'm not over-stepping my bounds, but I couldn't help but notice that @Therealsoysauce's character backstory seems to have an accurate portrayal of Hera - but not in terms of Disney. In the Disney movie she was the biological mother of Hercules, and she was sweet, mild, and loved him very much. In this backstory, she seems to be more like the bitchy, hating-on-Hercules Hera we all know and love from the actual Greek myths. If this is the case, will I be able to change Hades to as he was in the original myths? Because he definitely wouldn't be a villain then.
@LunarBriarRose

Here she is, hope everything is okay!

Name:
Melinoƫ (Mel-E-no), or Mel for short.

Age:
18

Sex:
Female

Parents:
Hades, God of the Underworld and Riches; Unknown mortal mother.

Personality:
Despite the furiosity of Mel's anger, she is quite nice. Her Father see's this more as naivety than niceness, hence why he never let her get out much. What with dreaming of going out and saving the day like heroes of old, Mel has a great sense of bravado and selflessness most of the time - this also means she doesn't always think things through before launching in to save the day... what with having spent so little time in the real world, sometimes she has a hard time deciding when danger is afoot. On top of this, she's very generous. What with her Dad being the God of the treasures of the Earth, Mel has no shortage of sparkly jewels and gold coins to pay for things - she would be more than happy to share the wealth of the Underworld with anyone who needs it. This can sometimes be used too much, as Mel would like to make a good first impression, despite the stigma of who her father is and where she was born, so she can sometimes feel self-conscious as to what other people think of her. In the Underworld, she never heard insults. The spirits, beasts, and denizens that lived there scraped and bowed to her, following her every whim barring being allowed outside too many times. As such, Mel's feelings may be hurt quite easily... which is when one is to avoid her firey temper.

Backstory:
Mel spent most of her life lazing in the Underworld, bored out of her mind and constantly dreaming of escaping her boring life. For a Demi-God, she had a distinct lack of things to do. Rather than being allowed out to slay monsters and complete quests like a real Demi-God, her father was too worried to let her go. What with how fickle the Gods could be when it came to extended family - particularly half-mortals - he preferred to keep her in his realm as much as possible, teaching her of how to correctly use her powers and how the Underworld worked. Despite this, the pair had a decent enough relationship, when their temper's were kept in check. However, Mel's temper was flaring up more and more as she went through her teenage years, things only made worse when she saw other kids being allowed to visit Aurodon. After several temper tantrums and burnt-to-a-crisp rooms, Hades allowed Mel to leave and go to the prep school - it seemed a safe enough place anyway, and he'd finally realised she could use some time away from the darkness of his realm. Her only real friend down here was the family dog, and that was problematic to say the least.

Boyfriend/Girlfriend:
Not as of yet, she's a new arrival.

Powers:
Like any Demi-God, she has enhanced strength, speed, and durability. When losing her temper, her hair flares up into flames just like her Dad's... when it get's really bad, it would be wise to vacate the premises and have a fire extinguisher ready. However, she is hoping to keep it in check, along with dealing with her other powers. When the dead and spirits realise that she can see and hear them, they never stop pestering her for favours. Would it creep the others out if they knew she could converse with the dead? But zombies always bring a party to life!

Other:
She's pretty sure Pain and Panic keep popping up to keep an eye on her; which is extremely annoying. A shame their disguises are so good.

Additionally, her father let her take Cerberus with her, albeit a much smaller version of Cerberus. Using some complicated magic, Hades shrunk the family dog down to a more manageable size so he could journey with Mel; she was over the moon, considering how many of her favourite heroes in the story books had animal companions. Cerberus was less amused at his new form, what with being the size of a labrador now. However, he's retained most of his otherwordly powers; he may have lost his size, but he can still pack a punch. Also, 3 heads means 3 sets of teeth to worry about.
