Current Today I reached the conclusion that, if presented with an exact duplicate of herself, one of my characters would DEFINITELY hit that.

They're not LONG chapters; but the fact I've managed to right 2 meh and 4 half decent ones in 4 days makes me very happy with myself.

I take RWBY very seriously, and I take the weapons religiously.
Alright, Promessa:
What you're describing isn't actually a rail-gun. not even close. A rail-gun uses a sliding cradle on magnetized rails to fire a solid slug. while your weapon is more akin to the covenant focus rifle, that
fires a concentrated stream of plasma. still a good weapon, just not a rail-gun.

folding up and using an energy blade is fine, but the image you used (an energy sword) would require a complete reconfiguration of the weapon, which would take a few seconds. During that time he would be basically defenseless.

We've got no confirmation that aura can be stored in any way, so you're better off using dust canisters as an energy source, which would also allow you to vary the beam/blade with elemental effects.

Not sure if I should need to explain why grabbing an energy weapon by the blade is a bad idea, even if it is energy projected over a frame, the frame would be pretty damned hot, so grabbing it by that when changing the power cell is a recipe for severe burn. better off having the power cell for the sword mode go in the center hump on the grip (assuming a covenant energy sword shape, which is what you linked for an example image.)

the sword fighting styles you selected (Iaido and Kendo) would not really work with a covenant design energy sword. Iaido is based on drawing the blade, striking, and then sheathing it again, which is nigh impossible with Promessa's blade form, while Kendo is a two-handed style that requires a blade vertically aligned with the handle

Sorry if I'm being rude, but I have trouble being nice when pointing out flaws in weapon designs
all.
Just so you know, shadow, I really do specialize in helping people improve and refine their characters, weapons are my favorite area which is why i took one look at Pax's and figured out ways that it could be refined.
@Phantomlink959oh I get ya, ummm, I dunno actually, I thought making my semblance too diverse would kind of overpower my character a little

A semblance is described as being a unique manifestation of aura, with Pyrrha it has magnetic properties, Weiss can generate glyphs, and Ruby is capable of moving at supersonic speed at the drop of a pin. having the aura generate electricity is only truly overpowered if the character is a pure mage type who specializes in aura manipulation.
electrogenesis, generates electricity. the more common name is electrokinesis.
Technically speaking, wouldn't his semblance just be electrogenesis that can be concentrated into an energy beam? that would allow for a more diverse usage.
Must. resist. urge to deconstruct weapon....
Seriously, I'm a bit psychotically obsessive when it comes to weapon design, and I see more ways than I can count to improve that thing without actually upgrading it.
Yup! Kanika is sufficiently badass without being shown as a brutal killing machine, so character interaction will probably be more interesting with her than combat.
Don't worry, I'll make sure everyone survives initiation over in my RP.
might require a deus ex machina, but I'll make sure it happens.
This one is going to be less combat oriented, yeah?
Aye, that would be best.
I believe Shadow said Honey would likely be partnered with Fox's character, right? which would leave me with.... Turner, who hasn't been finalized yet.
