Cool beans! I like it, I thought there would be a friendship/rivalry there that would be fun to explore. I want to get the a-okay for the quidditch stuff before I really delve into it. If it's not okay (not a biggy considering his youth) I would see Troy as a big fan of yours, despite the house difference.

I will look more at doing a relationship tab in a bit. I don't really know how far along into the year/how much time our characters would have to meet each other but going off of @Undine's It seems like we have plenty of both.

Considering @Joshua Tamashii's character and mine are in the same grade that seems like a pretty good starting point! Considering the challenges both of them face it would make sense to have them be pretty good friends, to me.

His unfaltering optimism and belief in people is the corner-stone of his entire personality. He draws on this natural charisma often to make friends as he is forced to move quite often.

Perhaps because of his unchanging ego and the overwhelming confidence of one so young, Troy often draws a lot of attention wherever he goes. Despite this common popularity, he doesn't seek the attention he draws nor does he really think of it at all. This natural charisma have brought a lot of friendship to his life, though it has also brought him the ire of those either envious of him or those that were cruel to others. This popularity has begun to waver as his contemporaries have begun to enter puberty, and their views on who they find cool shift away.

Another facet of his personality is how outgoing he is, often excited to try new things and meet new people. His exuberance shines through the most in group settings where he is the first to volunteer for any situation. Though not many know it besides his parents, this is mostly out of a feeling of being left out because his medical condition a lot of the time. Even though people often attempt to baby him and keep him safe, he rebukes their concern by putting on a brave face and striving to do everything he can.

Troy has a strange habit of becoming distant whenever either certain topics are brought up, or certain things come to his mind. This difficulty is further compounded by a wall he manages to maintain between himself and his friends. The cause of both these things can be traced back to a home life that, though full of love, was rather complicated and full of hardships. Though often surrounded by friends, if asked most of them wouldn't have called Troy their closest friend for this exact reason, he often is more lonely than he appears.

Some of his more negative qualities often come out when he is told he can't do something. This doesn't actually stem from a problem with authority, but more an underlying complex about his medical condition and his actual inability to do many things. Furthermore, he has a highly competitive streak when it comes to people who challenge him. It could be something as simple as getting the best grade on an exam, or something like holding his ground in an argument. This side of him often comes to the fore when playing quidditch, one of his two major loves.

Troy is also plagued by a fear of animals, this was a result of a traumatic experience in his childhood and hasn't been addressed at all. This has begun to cause him problems at the Salem Witches' Institute as the abundance of critters isn't something he can just outright avoid anymore.

Troy was born as the only child to Richard Franklin and Lorraine Witmer. Their meeting and subsequent marriage was one rife with fighting from the very moment the met, Lorraine being a highly respected Auror in the Republic of Magic while Richard Franklin was one of her cases. Lorraine was sent from her home in New York along with a group of Auror's to handle a sudden and very dangerous outbreak of Lycanthropy in a small town in Texas far to the south, once there it was a grueling task getting the many newly transformed creatures under control. Richard Franklin was a muggle through and through only having been exposed to the world of magic by a bad twist of fate that got him bitten, he was quickly rescued by the team of Auror's that were sent to clean up the mess and had his wound healed with a mixture of silver and dittany saving him from certain death.

Lorraine was later assigned to watch over Richard and help him understand the real nature of the world around him. It was during this time that the unlikely couple began to bond and fell in love with each other. They were married a few years later before moving back to Richard's home town when it became apparent that Lorraine had become pregnant. Wishing to raise her son without the danger present in being an Auror she retired and took up a mundane job.

After Troy was born many surgeries were performed on his highly deformed leg, both magical and not, in an attempt to cure him of his condition. All attempts proved unsuccessful, as the limb itself was too deformed to be cured without drastic changes to his physiology. The best the wizards could offer was to transmogrify it into a different leg, redoing the magic as the boy grew. This came with it's own set of dangers, including the risk of the leg never truly being his, a unsettling 'off-ness' so it was decided that they would leave it be.

Despite his parents worries, Troy grew into a very happy young boy full of talent. He took very closely after his dad in appearance, but his ability in magic and personality seemed to flow straight from his mother. This manifested in him following very closely behind her, becoming interested in the things she loved specifically singing. Once her son had shown such a crystal clear voice at such a young age, along with a wish to pursue the talent, his mother was more than happy to teach him all she knew and after that paid for a tutor.

Though his father was vehemently against it, fearful for his child, Lorraine took it upon herself to begin teaching Troy how to fly upon a broom before he had even turned five. In spite of his father's fears, Troy took to the broom like a fish takes to water. Unable to play tag and other games with the local kids Troy put all his effort into flying. In the air he was able to leave his disability behind him, allowing him to command his motion unlike anything he could have dreamed of before.

This love for flying only grew as he learned of Quidditch. He became obsessed with the game, watching as much as he could and in all of his free time he would practice the game. It wasn't until he had turned nine years old that he was able to go to his first professional game; the experience was one that would stick with him for the rest of his life. Once more his mother was highly supportive of his dream, spending whatever time she could spare giving him pointers on flying or practicing Quaffle handling.

His father would become a finicky subject for Troy, the distance between them only grew as he got older. Richard attempted to keep his Lycanthropy a secret from his son out of fear for hurting him and that had seeped over into their relationship with each other. His father went to great lengths and precautions to keep his son safe, often going many towns over to deal with his shifts, leaving the boy with a babysitter. Overhearing a conversation between his mother and father arguing about the condition and whether they should keep it from their son, Troy was left with a very incomplete and hazy picture of what illness was befalling his father. This event left Troy uncertain to what his father even was, out of fear for what he would found out Troy would keep this incident to himself and grow even further apart from his father.

Though quite nervous to leave his home in Texas and venture all the way to Massachusetts to attend school, he was at the same time excited to pursue his dreams and learn more about the wizarding world outside his family.

The leg is highly disfigured, explanations for why magic wouldn't suffice are provided.

The whole scene with his father was redone to be a child overhearing a conversation they weren't supposed too, which not only is more plausible but also more interesting considering Troy wouldn't know nearly as well what is wrong with his father.

I'm a bit iffy about his disability appearing healthy. It seems kind of like taking the emotions and sad background of it without the "ugliness" of the disability. Also, I don't think that Troy's father would safely be able to transform in his study. He would have to be in a completely different house, or a chained, locked basement.

As for the disability, I was having the opposite problem with it in the sense that I had a hard time justifying such a crippling disability when magic exists that can restore bones (Painfully) but rather quickly or human transfiguration capable of doing much greater things. The best I could come up with to hand wave it was that they could at least mask the severity of the deformity with magic, if not cure it entirely.

That being said, I actually like the idea of it being both very apparent and very unseemly much more. I don't mind going back to that idea in the least.

As for the second part, I agree that was a bit ham-fisted in retrospect give me a moment to give a bit more nuanced explanation for how Troy found out.

@Ruby Lyeelia Vahsi (if foreign dignitaries are invited to court for the coronation, which I assume they would be? Not sure.) would be there. Though originally sent as an ambassador for the green's she would take on the mantle of peacetime negotiation.

Also with no one playing the Martells themselves, if they are in attendance then Darios Vahsi likely would have been brought along, as they are looking for a sword-master for his education.

Posted up the Biography's for Thaario Vahsi (My 'House Head') and his Wife Elia Martell. Want to maybe tie in the two children a bit more before going into their Biography. Sorry for their length before you jump into it, both are getting up there in age so they have been through quite a bit.

If anyone is interested in talking about perhaps taking the boy as a Squire perhaps? Not really sure.

Same with the young woman as perhaps a suitor or a close friendship with another woman.

Just brainstorming ways to tie them a bit closer to King's Landing since no one has picked up another Free city. If you guys have any suggestions I am open ears!

On that topic @McHaggis If you want to do some Dorne-ish things that might be neat.
