Wew he hasn't existed for a week yet and Gremju already has a follower. On a side note I'm half tempted to start spelling Grumji's name different each post because there are a lot of weird ways I've misspelled Grimji.
Gremju shifted awkwardly as the rather dramatic situation unfolded and Larwen left the group to do..something, probably involving his 'perfecting' of life, he winced for a moment as stars light up across the sky before taking another to admire them. That was enough time wasted for the imp. The fungus of life was what had grabbed his attention now, they would create mortals and all that mortality implied but they were still so..dull. They would still all be so very similar, they would live, breed and then die with whatever slight differences they may have. He would stop that right now and save this planet from such a boring fate. Purple energy glowed violently in his claws for a moment before darkening and solidifying into a powder. This was his gift to mortals. Madness. True, it would simply break some of them but for many it could create a new outlook, a new angle to approach things. Some would even be born with his gift and they would never be bound by the restraints of mortal comprehension! A few would hear his whispers in their mind and would be drawn to his home on this planet where..well he wasn't sure yet. There were so many possibilities he wasn't sure which he would commit to first! He had to calm himself, he had plenty of time before mortals begin hearing his call.
After drifting off momentarily with the ideas in his mind, Gremju cast the powdered madness onto the fungus of creation at the door. As it made contact with the it , both glowed a purple hue briefly before the powder was absorbed into the fungus. Little else physically changed in the fungus although any Gods paying attention to any future creations would notice the mark of madness the challenger had placed on all mortals. Some mortals would live their entire lives unaware of the mark, others would know it from birth. Others would find it's affect on them strengthening during their lifetime due to their mind weakening. Gremju giggled in excitement before proudly announcing to the others "I have bestowed my own little gift to all your future living creations! No longer are they limited to one dull way of thinking, some will create wonderful things with my gift I am sure!" After announcing his addition, he collected a small handful of the spores for himself, he had a few ideas of how to make his new home more alive.
0 Might 1 might spent-the mark of madness-'gifted' all mortals created/born after this point with a chance of developing or being born with a damaged mind. While this can lead to violence and other forms of anti-social behavior it can also serve as inspiration for creators and generally a different view of existence. There is also a lower chance mortals will hear the whispers of Gremju beckoning them to the Plains of Madness. 3 Miracles Level 2 1.25/4
I don't mind it myself. What does the madness involve, though? Bipolar stuff, multiple personality thingies, OCD, depression? All that jazz? Does it include phobias?
Mostly I was imagining bipolar , schizophrenia and generally mental illnesse yeah. Also an additional more magical (and rare) affliction which compels the person with the illness to travel to the plains of madness. I imagine though that would affect about 2-3% of anyone with a mental illness which is already not a absolutely huge population. This will be important for Gremju to make his own little civilisation in the future.
Not phobias as that seems far more like a personality trait to me.
Gremju lay in the swampy water for several seconds, mildly confused at what had just occurred. After understanding he was probably teleported or something he hopped to his feet and wandered towards the location where the other God's had gathered, noting the swampy area and considering what fun little things he could design for such a place.
Shortly before arriving, he noticed the creatures that had began filling the nearby body of water. It seemed reasonable to add his own little fish to the fun. Taking the original design created by Orfai, he changed the fish to blacken and shrink slightly, he elongated the creatures teeth and gave them the capability to lengthen even further. Lastly he instilled a new instinct in his creation, a swarm mentality which would cause his new little creatures to form groups of up to one hundred. However he only created a handful and trusted they would reproduce in their own time, the eels would serve as a sufficient food source and the larger fish would hopefully ignore them while they rested in the darkness of the ocean until they struck upwards. Having contributed to this new 'life' thing, Gremju smugly made his way over to the other gathered Gods.
As the imp God approached he waved to the others and took a bow as he arrived "Greetings! For those who were not here early, I am Gremju! I trust everyone has been having as much fun as I have creating things on this fresh world. I see the forest has taken a very interesting turn. He announced looking from each of the God's with a wide grin on his face, adding the last sentence as he noticed the 'perfection' the forest from earlier had undergone. There was quite a group here, plenty of different looking beings. He hoped that meant his playmates would all have many wonderful ideas he could design equally wonderful challenges for. The imp giggled at the thought.
Gremju introduced himself again now most of the God's were present, completely disregarding the tension between them and commenting on how the corrupted forest looks pretty neato. 1 Might 1 miracle (0.25 might spent)- Created the Sastuk- piranha like creatures that work in swarms and will attack from below, using their black top half as camouflage before returning lower in the water to rest and become relatively passive until they grow hungry again, at which point they grow erratic and aggressive 3 Miracles Level 2 0.25/4
@Antarctic Termite aye I wasn't planning to develop the area much outside of that now for a time. Probably just use my remaining night to make some animals or something.
