You do in fact! It's not something you very suddenly gain. In order to perform Realmatic transformations, you must learn and understand them. The transformations may be complicated but must be performed quickly in order to be useful. That is why so much research is done and so much effort is put into things like the training nexuses--in order to streamline the process as much as possible.

Very roughly, philotes are particles which express will and connection. Philotic connections help do things like creating emotions, establishing consciousness, and so on. The Sevenfold Covenant stems from a certain type of philotic connection dubbed "Realmatic", which consists mostly of connections directly between consciousness and the System, which basically runs Existence. Realmatic capabilities are philotic connections that produce an understanding of reality.
