Cities.
Sprawls of Cities.
Dark alleyways, decrepit pits of trash.... People without homes or cares.
She, too, was without a home. And this city was nothing like the glorious arching gates of her homeland. It was a tragedy.... not a place of hope and destiny. At least, it wasn't to her. Her bare feet padded against the streets of New York, the chill coming down from the overhead countries brushing right past her more heat and cold resistant skin. She still wore her slaves clothing, a long leather slit skirt slid down from her hips and a shirt made from the same material, sleeveless, stretching down only to cover her body until it hit between the rib cage, where it slanted into a V shape and ended. Her back was left exposed, where a stylized 'S' was burned into her shoulder blade.
She was one of the lucky ones.
Being a maiden of the ship was better than being a scully-scruber, the lowest of the slaves. They wore nothing but rags and spent all day in the darkness. She had barely kept her beloved circlet hidden, but was able to hold onto it and still had it within her possession despite her pod's crash landing. Those without homes eyed her curiously as she passed by them silently, stepping lightly as to avoid drawing attention to her steps. They usually 'clanked' when she walked normally, giving presence to her already strange air--what with her lack of pigments and grey eyes. She had taken refuge among these shadows and they hadn't seemed to mind. Some reacted with paranoia and left their sleeping stations, but others did not seem to give her the time of day. She had spent long enough in the shadows, however. Karmina was still out there. Somehow, she would need to find her and bring her home.
The pale young woman kept her pace until the streets became somewhat less of a ghetto, shops were actually open and people still walked around at this time of day. However, no one seemed to pay her mind. Instead, all of their eyes were turned to a storefront, where many televisions played an emergency news broadcast. Jump City was under attack. From the distance she was at, she could not make out what was on the small screens. She made her way closer only to see what was there, her empty stomach dropping like it had fallen into a pit. The screen also flickered, the broadcaster, who was recording live, also capturing footage of people with strange abilities forming a counter attack.
Spaceships. Images flashed before her eyes. Taalunia under siege. Red. Fire. Her bloodletters.... Her teeth clenched and so did her fists as she thought of the people without homes who had been kind to her on this planet. Would it too, fall under the whims of the next 'master race?'
"Move." Her voice seemed to boom despite her small size. People began turning their heads in her direction and reacted simply out of shock when they formed a path for her. She stepped forward, crowding the view of the TV's as people stared, and put her hands on the glass. She stared at the screens of the TV's behind them, and waited until an image of a spaceship came up. There.
She pushed her hands through the storefront's glass, a warbling sound emitting from it. A collective gasp formed behind her, but she continued pushing until she was through the glass entirely.
New York would not see the likes of Marilyn again.
Name: Marilyn (True name unpronounceable with the human tongue)
Alias: Echo
Age:
Taalunia Age: 74 Mercuron Passes
Earth Age: 17
Personality: While initially very stoic, Marilyn has a tendency to 'Reflect' the personalities of others around her on instinct. This is a given trait with her race and has allowed for their survival when unbidden circumstance came to greet them. She is very observant, settling for listening rather than talking, and not holding back on her customs of honesty when provoked for advice. A quick learner, Marilyn is known for her durability and fast thinking when times get rough--a perk when your head is usually clear of most human distraction. As time goes on, she has the potential to warm up to or to become bitter about her situations, and will find time to express it where others might find it uncharacteristic of previous actions. She is obsessed with the color red.
Powers: Hyalokinesis, or put simply, glass control... to an extent. Marilyn is able to transverse/teleport to different areas on Earth using mirrors or large glass windows and to date has yet to show a limit of distance, also able to see through smaller 'windows' (i.e. looking through a compact mirror will result in the possibility of spying on master plans. On the offense, the only 'glass' Marilyn can control is her own organic material--her blood. By making decent sized lacerations on her skin, she can create glass weapons or projectiles to be used to attack those who would strike her. She can also use it free form.
Weakness: Due to Marilyn's body literally working with liquid glass pumping all out through her body, she is incredibly heavy for her petite size. Her weight is similar to that of a fully stocked vending machine. Considering she also uses her blood to attack, it's also an issue of fatigue coming in fast and thus weakening her greatly. (On the upside of this fatigue however, her body is lightened by the removal of the heavy blood and her speed is greatly augmented)
Appearance:
(crappy sketch I did of her in her superhero outfit like ages ago)
Marilyn is colorless, her blood gives her no pigment aside from the metallic sheen in her eyes. Most of the clothing she wears has sensible floral patterns and she wears a single chain-circlet with a crimson metal flower upon it. Note the open spots on her forearms on her costume, where she could provide her skin lacerations to create her weapons without being obstructed. The back is more open as well to provide quick defense from an ambush.
Bio: In brief, Marilyn comes from a planet known as Taalunia where the people are made up of a variety of metals, stones, and other elements. When her city is overrun by space pirates, she is made into a slave with her best friend Karmina. While she is subjected to a few humiliating tasks, her friend gets the worse end of it and changes completely. Cautiously following her friend's instructions, they are able to escape their situations via escape pod, but are forced into different containers when they are spotted, and thus are separated from one another. Marilyn lands in the middle of New York City's Central park, where she moves quickly to evade the eyes of strangers. Currently she wanders aimlessly, not knowing what to do and hoping to find her friend.
Arc Ideas:
-Karmina's return
Taalunians, specifically more so her species, adore the coveted color red. And what's more red than human blood?
-Space Pirates Homing Beacon
Marilyn has escaped her imprisonment, but at what cost?
Other: Titans Forever
Here is her original character sheet I made for her. It has more information about Taalunians and a better, more in depth description of Marilyn, at least I think so.
Name:
Real name is unpronounceable by Human Tongues, But goes but the name of...
Marilyn
Age:
Taalunia Age: 74 Mercuron Passes
Earth Age: 17
Gender:
Female [-]
Taalunians are Asexual beings that procreate through 'metal letting' but appears to be Female
Appearance:
Taalunia standards
All people on Taalunia, the planet Marilyn resides from, are deprived of color. Their world is a mix of nothing but white, grey, black, and the intense, rare and highly sought out, red. Thus, Marilyn is quite average for a Taalunian, white pure white skin and white hair with clothes just as pale as she. However, there is one single flower piece in her hair that her mother gave her for her birthpassing, in Marilyns favorite color, red.
Skills:
-Standard Taalunia Defensive training. Intermediate
-Standard Taalunia Minor Intergalactic Knowledge
-Increased Intelligence capacity than normal humans
-Standard Increased Flexibility to sometimes impossible seeming proportions (to Humans)
Powers:
-Reflective Travelling-
Marilyn can travel through mirrors, see what is on the other side, or walk between reflective surfaces. It was a common form of travel on Taalunia and she does it naturally here as well.
-Metal letting-
All Taalunians 'blood' is nothing but liquid metal. Upon slicing her arm she is able to form blades from this life substance and use it to attack foes, whether its forming blades, metal whips, armor, etc. Too much of this cause weakness from blood loss. Cannot control metal matter outside of what is organic to Taalunia. This is their end all to everything. To make life, they metal let with whom they most adore to create a new Taalunian, and to take life the attack each other with their life fluid.
-Eyes of the Otherworld-
The ability to see otherworldly beings on different planets is a given from Taalunians as well. When a Taalunian rusts (yes, that is how they grow old and die) their conscious mind has to be delivered to the Otherworld by a living escort. It's not uncommon for family members to escort their dead's consciousness by themselves. Allows for seeing spirits on the human world as well.
Personality:
Initially, Marilyn appears to be stoic and a complete stick in the mud. However, after time you'd grow to learn that Taalunian emotion is shown, just in a very stiff manner. Over time, she may relax and speak as humans do, but for now, she appears to be tightly wound. She has an obsession for the color red and is drawn to it like a fly is to honey. It's said that it's the only thing that can drive a Taalunian mad, with its fluorescent color and foreign vibrancy unseen to their world until recently. She deeply enjoys the quiet and finds herself being drawn to parks or city streets at night, away from the insanity of the world always buzzing with noise. Taalunians, after all, enjoy their peace and quiet.
Backstory:
Note: By earth standards she is pretty damn heavy with her veins full of liquid metal. Knocking her back is like trying to tip a soda vending machine.
<Snipped quote by ReaptheMusic>
Accepted, although cutting yourself open is and using your own blood as a power is a little weird.
But cha' haven't heard of it before though, have ya? vuv The same could be said about being able to crawl up walls because you got spider-hairs coming out of your skin but hey. Yay acceptance ouo
I hope you are still accepting. This is a character I made for Teen Titans quite a while back and I look forward to using her now, should circumstances permit.

Backstory:

Artemis clucked her tongue in disappointment, quite hoping to drag her friend along with her forced dance to get him back for putting wings on her key again. Instead, as he went back to his seat, she quickly took the key from the minister with a muttered apology and opened a small pouch connected to her hip. One by one, the playful chess-piece sized dragons around her zipped into the sack and snuggled up to each other for a small nap. The Hippogryph she coaxed down with a flick of the wrist, before leading him outside to his chain post.
It was a moment before the spunky red head jogged back into the main hall, her hair finally pinned up and looking fresh, though there was a slight twitch at the pouch on her hip. Thus hinting that she had refrained from putting her dragons in their rightful spot. Her wand was gone, in place a small flower was pinned to her hair which she had transfigured the wand into. She took her seat beside Julius and Terrence, Kurt's chair being on the other side of T. Dogg. She exhaled and put her hands behind her head, slinking her gaze over to Julius.
"You're not off the hook, Darthum," She hissed under her breath. "When this tedious ass ceremony is over, we duel. You are going _down_ Adalette." She made a show of looking to her Gryffindors. Half of which her gaze was met with eye rolls, the other half grins of wonder or excitement. The first years looked nervous though, those who didn't know her clearly showing their opposition. Ah, kids these days just don't know what it means to be a gryffindor. She looked at Terrence. "Reading again? Shouldn't you be paying attention?" Her expression turned into one of amusement as she fell into her routine of giving her pals a hard time.
Artemis' eyes widened as the charm was set in place by her _dear friend_ and her legs began moving of their own accord, dancing the tarantella as the spell he had put upon her decreed. Naturally she leapt away under the spells whims. She muttered something incoherent under her breath and flicked her sword, still holding it tightly. The shape shuddered and returned to being an average sized wand of rowan wood. Satisfied, the dancing red head smirked up at Julius.
"I'm afraid I don't care for the Tarantella," She admitted, raising her brows as she spun around, her legs still moving quickly but her arms folded over her chest with wand in hand. "But I just... _adore_ to Tango." Her smile dropped as she waved her wand where it was in the crook of her arm. "And you know, it takes two to tango. Accio, Julius."
There had been a mention between her friends that she had been late, though for the most part Artemis's friends and fellow teachers in training would be amongst themselves doing what they did best.
At that moment so was Artemis.
Not long into the sorting hats obnoxiously choicey decisions there was a gust of air as something zipped past the students tables and straight in front of Julius. With its pause, its shape became known. A bronze intricate key with humming bird wings on it, seemingly animated enough that it legitimately had to pause and pant in a tiny, tinny sounding voice. The next thing that happened no one expected.
"JUUUULLLIIIIUUUUSSSS!!!"
With the scream of utter anger ripping through the great hall, which already had great acoustics even for those with a soft voice, the large doors of the entryway burst open, earning a gasp from a myriad of the student populace. A hyppogryph reared its head before zipping on its feather clad wings straight for the chair Julius sat in. On its back, a wild eyed young woman with her unnaturally blood-toned hair trailing behind her. Around her flew several miniature sized dragons, babies she had to tend to with her messenger dragon experiments, and in her hand, her wand which she had transfigured into a silver blade. The hyppogryph careened upwards as it came near the back wall, changing its flight pattern as the woman rolled off of its back and onto the floor in front the long table separating the teachers from the students, her small dragons following. She ran up to Julius where he was wandering and would bowl him over, gripping the front of his shirt and pointing the tip of her blade to his throat, the silver only reflecting his smug-ass face.
"Miss Page, What is the meaning of this?!" One of the ministers shrieked as she stood, outraged, began to step toward the mess Artemis had created with her wand drawn. Proffessor Gallanfrey only sipped from a goblet with the utmost grace and raised a hand to the minister as though to say 'let them be.' The minister at this point knew only too well the mess of a relationship these teachers in training had. She only glanced at the tanglement of bodies with Artemis's sword at Julius' throat.
"Did he put wings on your key again?" She asked, an eye roll nearly present in her voice.
"YES and it's the LAST TIME he does it!!!" Artemis answered with her teeth grit, pressing the blade closer to Julius' throat in warning. Her hair wasn't up as it usually was and fell with a bit of frizz around her to midback and over her shoulders.
Interesting. I actually have characters meant for space (for a different fandom but i can always tailor it to this one) that would be perfect here. Room for three characters? (I have drawings i made of each so there would not be anime pics though)
