Giichi Uzumaki

He had been but a few minutes early to the gathering. His trademark orange jacket catching the wind and easily swaying at the slightest touch. He liked to think that in the two days since his mission with Yamato and Rei, that he had grown stronger. The knowledge … or the reminder that he should think ahead had etched itself in his mind. To precede cautiously in a unknown situation wasn't usually his thing but he'd try harder to contain himself next time.

The others showed themselves soon enough and after making a point of greeting Yamato with a casual hey, he returned to his spot near his teammates and captain; a Special Jonin who went by the moniker: Pixie. He hadn't taken much notice of her before this so he was curious about her. She didn't appear particularly strong but he wouldn't judge.

His laxed posture soon grew cheerful and warm. Our mission will be easy,” he started off, crossing his arms over his chest and glancing between Megumi-sensei, Rin-chan, and the unknown. As long as we all work together. Like Ayame-sensei said, if we screw up … the whole operation is placed in jeopardy. Let's try not to stick out like a sore thumb.”

He grabbed the straps of his pack mindlessly, adjusting them tightly around his shoulders before following his captains lead. Guess its off to the Village hidden in Swords. I hope its not too pointy.

Daiki Naito

Bounding across the branches towards Kannabi Bridge, a recently built bond between Iwagakure and Konhagakure, Daiki felt a twitch of annoyance at Ayame. She had glanced at him earlier, insinuating that he may recklessly disrupt the operation by “Searching for Glory” or something-nother. He stepped off a sturdy branch and floated through the air for a moment.

Hai,” he answered above the wind, his voice flawlessly hiding his irritation.

As she continued on, Daiki glanced over at Haruka and Sentou. Both of them were known around the village but not so much that he actively paid attention to them. Even on their mission together, Haruka and himself hadn't spoken too much. He'd have to try harder to get along with them, especially considering Ayame was leading their small group.

Sighing, he rubbed his head lightly, the future throbs of a headache already showing itself. I have but a few. Why do we want acknowledgment from the Samurai? And what happens if you miss? What's plan B?” His golden eyes waited on her back for an answer. I'm sure she hadn't considered that her aim would falter or his skills would be exceptional.

Giichi Uzumaki

It was almost certain that death would take him and in that moment, he realized only one thing. That he was too tired to dodge it. His recklessness with the Rasengan had costed him his life. It was not enough for him to have made the battle easier. He was a idiot for not thinking ahead.

When Yamato crashed into his gut to drag him out the way, the pain that raced out to his sides and chest was suffer-able. He coughed once or twice before standing to his feet on the branch and gazing out towards the sunset drenched field. Hues of orange and purple flooded the sky and gave the cratered grassland a mysterious atmosphere.

Giichi looked on with a fearful amazement, his mouth parted slightly and his body still tense. The intensity was soon chased away by Yamato's command. He wanted to argue that he could handle it, that at the time he had no other choice … But he knew it had been a mistake to use it back to back. Even now, he could barely catch his breath to respond.

I- I know.” Was all he said, though his blue eyes were stony, boarding defiant. If not for Yamato's actions, he would be dead. That meant there was cause to heed his words, even if they came out a bit harsh.

Just as he believed that Yamato would condemn them to failure, four, utterly spectacular, words left his mouth. Words that, though they didn't fall out proudly, spoke volumes. Giichi, with his hand in his pocket and a smirk on lips, looked towards Rei to see her reaction. As he thought, she beamed with appreciation. Playfully, he shook his head before looking, more or less, at the two Minamoru before him.

I've got some hurdles to overcome if I want to be Hokage one day. These two … they're amazing.

As they trailed back to the village, Rei and Yamato spoke on private matters. One that he didn't feel inclined to speak or ask about. In fact, he knew it all too well. While his parents weren't so keen on the idea, other prominent members of the clan had been pushing for an arranged marriage. He shivered at the thought of them having their way.

Closing the distance even further, he let his voice reach the two Minamorus. Quick question, what do you think that “Bravery” greeting was all about? It was pretty eerie and I'm a bit worried about it,” he mentioned thoughtfully.

Daiki Naito

He gritted his teeth furiously as Aoi planted her kunai into the man's heart. The elderly released a dying breath before falling, his legs toppling against the floor with lifeless thumps. Tsk! was all that slid between his teeth.

What was the feeling that grasped him now. Was it regret for not reacting quick enough? Resentment towards Aoi's hasty actions? Or … no, he knew what it was. It was the sour taste of being cheated. She had gotten her way. Though her words flittered between her natural goofiness, in the end, all her meanings had led to a quick death for the despaired man. The easy way out was not always the best.

But who am I to talk. A Naito who leaves behind comrades in order to ensure a mission's success? His golden eyes dulled that moment, his mouth straightened out. An Uchiha … He fitted a cold look onto his face as he answered Aoi's request.

Right.” he answered and waited for the others to leave.

Once gone, he bent down to the dead man and sympathetically fixed him onto the mat. No longer was he in the crumpled position that he died in. Now he laid straight with his arms at his side, eyes closed and face oddly peaceful. He smiled while dying. Crazy old fool.

The silence in the room was broken by his intake of air. His chest puffed before he spewed out the flames of his jutsu. With a small turn of his head, he lit aflame the entire room and ceased the flow. His lips singed with heat as he bowed ever so slightly to the poor man's corpse. Sullen, he stepped out with the roar of the house-fire behind him. It'd burn nicely for awhile, even with the downpour.

He passed by Aoi with only two words. It's done.” And continued on towards the beaten path towards Konoha.

Daiki Naito

He was never that good at speaking to people, though lately, he'd been finding the right words for the right situation. A small smirk played on his lips before twisting into a gritted snarl of pain. He clasped the foot of his extended leg before snapping his wide—golden—eyes onto Aoi. They screamed many curses that his pain wouldn't allow out his mouth.

Groaning, Daiki stood up, raising to his full height. The hell … i-is your problem, Aoooi?” He confronted her instinctively, so was the way of the Naito.

The question was answer by Aoi's own views. His pain began to fade over time and Daiki's face dulled into disbelief. A soft tsk left him as he rubbed his still throbbing foot, his eyes peering into Aoi's with a calm that rivaled her own ire. You know just as I do that they don't need to do this … This situation is special. He's not a enemy.” He looked to the man's back. The cards he was dealt was rigged, that's all he's truly guilty of. If they kill this man … he'd burden them for a very long time. We're use to it, me especially. One more innocent makes no difference on my shoulders.”

“... But can you imagine what that weight would be like on Doto or Rin? It wouldn't be good.” he assured her.

Daiki Naito

On the opposite side of Aoi, Daiki listened intently to the man's request. It was a sad one and a reason worth dying for. To end the possible devastation of countless others was enough. Silently, he climbed through the window and took a few steps towards the man; stopping only when three feet laid between them.

Doto was the only person that seemed merciful. The rest were apprehensively ready to end this man. Rin especially. She's a cold one. She must be hurting inside.

It had to be difficult for a fresh ninja to consider the idea of killing an innocent. This situation, one tied with moral wrongs and rights, a grey area that was indistinguishable from outright murder, was even worse. While he had never been quite like Doto, a kind soul without a stain, he had always wondered what it was like to actually spare a life. To not be the monster that left his comrades to die.

With a soft sigh, Daiki sat down and spoke out, eyes heavy, but voice firm and stoic. No,” was his reply to Rin's statement. We're going to wait for Haruka and Doto to return. This is a team mission, Rin. Stand down. Besides ... you're too inexperienced to deal this kind of death. No ... I will be the one to kill him if its agreed upon."

His next words were much lower. "Is there no other way for this man? can his kekkai genkai be sealed?”

A coldness rested in his heavy-lids.

Giichi Uzumaki

Charging head on, Giichi leapt through the hole Yamato made. He was lucky to have such a fast Chunin attending the mission with him. Even if the two of their families weren't close, he couldn't imagine himself seeing Yamato in any other light than admirable. He was quick, destructive, and brutally honest. One could tell how he was feeling by just observing his movements.

He landed with a thud and attempted to charge forwards, but was pull and hindered. Looking down he saw the vine sticking out from the grass and with a few useless tugs knew he was caught. Shit!” he barked, twisting the tanto in his hand and preparing to cut himself loose.

Just as he got ready to do so, he heard Rei blazing by. The gentle roar of her flames drew his attention just in time to watch her smash her fist into the man's face. Giichi was stuck for a moment, honestly surprised by how powerful the Minamoru's technique was. It made him want to become that much stronger.

Giichi clawed at the ground as he sprinted towards the delirious ninja. He had watched this ninja toy around wit his comrades. Well now the tables were turned! With a spin, his foot crashed into the man's hasty guard. Giichi was quick to follow through. He guessed that the man would expect another physical blow, but inside of his hands—hidden from view by his side—was a swirling mass that whistled in his palm and towards the guarding ninja. The remaining bits of his energy drained but he just had to land this finisher.

RASENGAN!

Giichi Uzumaki

She's a tough one, he admitted, eyes glancing over his shoulder at Rei .

She wanted cover but just how much could he give her alone. With Yamato captured and his opponent baring down on him, it seemed like the most he could do now was hope for the best, all while putting up one hell've a fight. He re-fixed his grip on the tanto and calmly nodded, his voice oddly calm and reassuring.

Lightening Release: NERVETake your time, Rei-chan. I won't let a single person harm you.” Penny-sized orbs raised five-feet around them, they werefirelight that shined like lanterns before fading away. His enemy's face was hidden beneath the straw hat but he could see caution inching his feet forwards.

Then the grass-ninja vanished again, sending Giichi on edge as he waited. His blue eyes fidgeted all over the field … that was until he felt movement to his left. He's trying to blind-side me! Not too keen on waiting on Rei's jutsu it seems! He reacted the exact moment he felt the intrusion, with a quick-slide to the left, he swiped at the man with his tanto. He missed rather easily this time. Had he seen it coming?

No, he assumed. He's just too fast. Even with my upped reaction speed, all I can do is defend.

By the time Yamato had neared them, Giichi was covered in small bruises and scratches. His custom jutsu was impressive, it made him quicker, but he had a long way to go before he could combat Chunins and Jonins with them. Haggard, Giichi smiled behind Yamato's back.

Hell yea, been waiting to use it. Haven't seen a opening yet.” His eyes staid on the ninjas around them. His mind concerned for Rei's jutsu. If she didn't hurry it up, she might not get the chance to complete it again. Giichi smirked, hearing Yamato speak of the Hokage. Hehe, you Minamorus are interesting. I can see why the village acknowledges you.”

Yamato burst into action again, the blow that rocked the ninja's jaw was loud. Heat flared into the air with it. Giichi felt it and heard it but focused on his own palm as he twisted his chakra, contained it, and formed it into a swirling strength. Wind twisted violently as chakra gathered at the center of his hand, a mystic blue sphere eventually came to life. Once it was done, Giichi had to focus beyond the tossed bangs of his hair to see his target.

Like a bomb, Yamato burst into flames and obscured the area in a sweltering light. Giichi knew this was his chance, this was the time! Starting forwards, Giichi curved around tightly until he was faced with the man. RASENGANNNN! He could feel the jutsu grinding against the man's back, saw the man's grass-armor ripped to shreds before it continued to twist skin, muscles, and fracture bones. Arrrrghhhhhhhhh!!!” Giichi wailed as he pushed it even further and sent the man's spinning into Yamato's attack.

Rolling with the momentum, Giichi skidded until he landed onto the sides of his feet and grinned. The exhilaration of using it rushed through his veins; the power that came with it, vigorously reassured him of his potential. He clenched his fist and brought it to his side. “Yea! We can do this,” he thought full-heartily.

Long tails of dust and dirt was stranded in the air now but Giichi made his way to the others well enough. Now that's some good teamwork! Do you think we can handle the rest-” He was interrupted by Rei's jutsu finally being completely. Like Yamato, her fist were aflame. He looked between the both of them, feeling hopeful now.

Before Yamato could even give him the go-ahead, Giichi had already charged in tow of the girl. This battle would have to end quickly. He wasn't sure how much longer, Yamato and Rei could keep this up. And he was sure he couldn't survive the ninjas alone.

Daiki Naito

Daiki glanced at Doto and Rin. They would be safe with Haruka but was he really authoritative enough to keep them in check? He seriously doubted it, those two would drag him around like a pet and he'd follow without considering reeling them in. Rubbing his head, he reluctantly followed Aoi deeper into the store.

Once out of earshot, Anemone in hand, Daiki spoke. Aoi, are you sure about this? You're leaving them with Haruka after all. He's capable but he's far from a leader.” he explained to her. He lowered his head and sighed, his face thoughtful. It was possible he was being to judgmental but considering the recent turn of events. He had the right to be.
@chukklehed I hate to say this but I'll be denying the idea for now. We can make an exception for you and Nicholas. Perhaps some special case in which said characters are forced to team-up.

If you want, you can suggest ways we can get you and Nicholas teamed up for a round.

EDIT: Who wants to bump into Sable once he arrives into Crocus. See Reign and his--very, very fake personality.

Daiki Naito

Daiki walked on without another word. As long as the two of them continued to listen to him, then they shouldn't have a problem. Considering the situation, it seemed Rijin had run into a problem they couldn't handle. One that may have purposely brought itself to Konoha.

Is it possible that the enemy requested the mission? He considered the idea before storing it away to bring up to the others; Aoi and Haruka, perhaps Rin and Doto if they showed competence.

He stepped into the shoe store and immediately felt uneasy. The store was quiet, no different than the rest of the village, but he saw signs of a struggle there. The puppet … it had been the puppet that told them to come here. Now the question that floated around was why? He walked over silently, expecting an attack but wondered from where it would come from the entire time. Staid, his eyes glanced from left to right. He stood guard over the kids with Anemone in his hands.

By the time Doto had broken his sentence, Daiki had already covered his blade in chakra and was ready to deflect the senbons. It was only instinct that had kept him from running into Doto's earth-style jutsu. With a clench of his teeth, Daiki had to remind himself that they were Genin. That he could not depend on them to be especially self-sufficient on a mission that no longer seemed like a D-rank. He tried to slyly unclench his teeth and with a firm word, ready them.

Be ready you two. Don't let yourself get surrounded and don't be careless.” He glanced over his shoulder at Doto.

As soon as the slabs fell, Daiki sliced a puppet's head off mercilessly and continued on to do that with every enemy that approached. His movements were fluid compared to his underclassmen. Rin let loose a powerful Breakthrough jutsu that scattered the puppets forwards. All that came his way was laid to rest in a matter of seconds, their heads rolling with horrendous thumps. Normally he would have been far more destructive in taking care of the puppets, for the puppet master would surely close by.

But in this case, it was probably best to regroup with the others. Doto, Rin. We better make this quick. Whoever is utilizing this jutsu is capable of manipulating a great number at once,” He waited to see if they understood but decided to explain anyway. “Which means two things. One, these corpses could be the bodies of the villagers and two, this puppeteer is strong. You're lucky I'm here. ”

Giichi Uzumaki

He flickered through the shadows before landing a bit behind Yamato and right next to Rei. Taking a quick look towards the truckers, Giichi felt a quick anger rise and fall. Those two had nothing to do with the conflict, they shouldn't have been hurt. Those two criminals were worst than he thought, slaves to their own actions and hate-filled motives. He could feel his nails biting his hands as he tried to steady himself from leaping into the fray.

The grassy clearing neared his calves and the wind took hold of his jacket and shirt as men raised from the emerald beneath them. With a harsh tsk he turned to face a good portion of the ones behind him. He tensed his core, holding the tanto firmly but obviously amateurish. His brows furrowed as he stared fiercely at the grass-covered ninja.

Giichi wasn't sure if he agreed with everything that Yamato said but he had to admit it was badass. As he readied himself for the jutsu they were performing, Giichi stepped just a bit closer to Rei, mindlessly thinking she would follow her brother's orders. When she hadn't, Giichi failed to take notice.

He focused on his own problems as one of the balls rolled towards him. With a small jump, he pulled a kunai out his hand, and along with the tanto, came down onto ninja with a vicious, edge-sharp, spin. His blades were only met with streaks and screeches as they grounded against the needles. Once he realized he was going no where, he took a chance, and slammed his feet against the ball, sending it backwards, and himself flipping through the air.

Once he landed, he felt a stinging pain in his foot and noticed five needles had pierced his sandals. One had found itself going through his foot, leaving a quickly filling, warm, pool. The others had scratched the surface, the last had simply broken off. Shit!”

Yamato's voice sped across the field and reached him. He looked over towards Rei, only to see flames eating away at the field around her. For a moment, he found the excitement of it all amusing. Meeting up with her, Giichi stepped between her and the rest of the ninja, a grin on his face, though worry gnawed on his heart. Cover you?” he asked. “ I thought all Minamoru's were powerhouses,” he joked.

With a powerful start, he ceased his dash as one of the man appeared before him. He gritted his teeth and slashed down his tanto, only to miss and watch him send Rei flying into a tree. Rei!” he yelled out of worry. A second later, Yamato's plea echoed through the field. It was emotional, but not the kind that a weak-hearten mother would speak. Instead, it filled Giichi with a similar anger, one that amplified his own urgency.

But now he was left with a dilemma. Was he too rush over to Rei and leave Yamato open to attack? Or let Yamato deal with the two restraining him and take care of the bastard himself. Normally he would have listened to his leader. But if he could defeat this man, than Yamato could take care of the rest and Rei would never be in any danger. All he had to do was take care of the ninja in front of him.

Skipping any hesitation, Giichi dashed forwards, leapt into the air, and crashed his elbow into the man's shoulder. His tanto came down next, with a flourish and spin, towards the man's head. If he could take out this one … if he could take him down! Than he'd be that much closer to returning home with his comrades in tow. The man felt the full brunt of Giichi's elbow but rolled with the blow and dodged his tanto. Giichi only raised to his full height and turned his fierce gaze onto the ninja.

Clenched teeth was bared towards him. Dammit!” he cursed, fighting a familiar but all too malicious desire to beat his opponent to a pulp. Reluctantly he leapt over to Rei and gripping his wrist, raised his tanto in defense.

I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happened to her.
@chukklehed, what caused you to present this idea? Just wondering?
Giichi Uzumaki, The Heir to Orange

Giichi's smile had slowly closed as Yamato rebuffed the small bit of praise he had given Rei. The Prodigy's words seemed blunt, if not harsh. It made him turn to check on Rei's expression, he wondered if she would be hurt? Or if she had grown use too it. It wouldn't had bothered him personally, but females were often better at hiding such things. Things like pain or disappointment … regret even.

Yea, I guess,” he muttered with trepidation. His heart wasn't particularly in agreement but he didn't want to offend Yamato's viewpoints. He glanced around at the scenery. The sun was still high in the sky, shining through the leaves and making them vibrant.

When he was brought back from his respite by Yamto, Giichi looked towards the girl on the cart. She was waving at them, possibly signaling for help. With a confirming nod, he grasped hold of the tanto and readied himself for Yamato's lead.

Gotcha!” he said, dashing towards the woman. He held the tanto close to himself as he did, just in case. When the woman had done nothing but scream and duck, Giichi stopped in front of her and with a nudge from his foot, sent her rocking onto her back. “Tsk, you're a kidnapper but you're not dangerous?” He tilted his head to the side in annoyance, his jaw tense. “Not that I was looking forwards to beating a woman or anything. Either way, I'm glad I didn't have to beat you to a pulp.”

He nudged his head, telling her to stand up before tying her wrist behind her. “This is disappointing. I thought it'd be harder with Yamato attending.” Giichi stood beside the constricted woman as he stared at Yamato fight. In his head, some of the words that had been used for his own fighting style had appeared: Reckless, straight-forwards, brutish, and dangerous.

Daiki Naito

Daiki looked towards Aoi with annoyance for her decision. As leader, and mostly because he was a Naito, he obeyed her. But that by no means meant he liked it. In fact, her decision was probably as wrong as they came. Depending on how bad the situation got, he might just leave the Genin to their deaths.

No. Aoi ordered me to follow them. I guess I could extend that to defending them too.

Leaping down effortlessly, he lchased after Doto and Rin, passing the small girl and catching up to Doto with greater strides. With a powerful hand, he gripped the boy's collar and yanked him back. It wasn't a weak pull but it wasn't overwhelming either, more of a forceful touch to assert his dominance. “You're rushing into unknown territory. Try to be careful.” he muttered under rain.

That'll get you killed, Doto-kun.”
Well the majority has voted no for the free for all. And the S-Ranks of the guilds battle normal members is just about as unfair as it gets.
Hmm? What how many S-Ranks do we have active? Perhaps we can fit them into their own little category, something akin to the strongest S-Rank in Fiore. Alongside the strongest guild award, we'll present the strongest S-rank.
