You can help by helping me, firstly. If you show an aptitude for science, for magic, you’d do great under my wing. There’s also the chance you could end up capable of fighting like ol’ Captain Haniel, in which case, you will eventually be capable of doing that as well. There are lots of ways.

Me? I fight in my own way. I don’t go to the battlefield and engage in mortal combat with anyone. I do work here to make and improve equipment everyone else uses so they come back okay.
