Yeah, I assume you are referring to Grim. I'm okay with that, even if he manages to beat me, as a step towards the final Fury vs Skallagrim showdown.
I'm still in the mental planning stages, but I think I have the proper direction.

Bold = Fightable characters.
Why was he here?

He had told himself he wouldn't come back to a place like this, a place that reminded him of that man.

The last time he was here, he thought he had found solace, he allowed a man to decapitate him so he would be free of the Way of the Warrior tournament. Yet, here he was, sitting in another Lobby, a participant in another deadly game with stakes higher than the Way of the Warrior tournament could ever hope to achieve.

A part of some cosmic being's team, aiming to gain points for some silly game those in power were known to play.

Oh, Alphonse knew that he could turn away and ignore this - but there was a mission that continued to draw him forward.

He now stood within the cafe of the Lobby, an ornate room with foods that spanned multiverses and times. A man across the room was busy filling his table repeatedly with food, which vanished down his gullet almost as soon as it arrived. Many fighters were fascinated by the sight, and truth be told, Alphonse wondered where it went.

Since he had been here, he had met a Combustion Maven, a Psiconic, three Members of the Resistance, and finally, someone who had stored themselves away when a strange power flowed into existence here just moments ago. A Forgotten. They identified themselves as members of his team, all employed by the same cosmic being. Were there truly no limits to how many members a team could field?

Letting his chi flow freely around him, Alphonse was able to detect people and things within the Lobby. The light blue power saturated everything, before sucking back and returning back to him.

---

The Members of the Resistance stood on the other side of the cafe, silently talking among themselves, when Worren spoke out, motioning towards a hooded figure walking through the door.

"I've faced him before, nasty bugger."
---

The Forgotten appeared quietly in his room, sliding his scythe across the air before him. Dust-like particles formed and the cafeteria was shown, particularly the amethyst exuding man that was clearly kin - a Dreamer - Enemy.
I'll probably be using Alphonse for it, and maybe some of the random character participants.

Or maybe Grim, himself.

Definitely Alphonse..
Raeym Corporation.

They were his biggest sponsors, in fact, they were one of the biggest corporations in the gigaverse they were living in. They started in minor cybernetic upgrades to people, evolved into the same for mythological creatures, and then even further into various other dealings. The Corporation, while not an official shareholder of the Universal Fighting Championship, may as well have been - they sponsored someone in every fight. In the last two, it had been Tre'Yan.

In the last two. Tre'Yan had lost.

He supposed he shouldn't have been surprised that they were coming for his head, they were a business and were looking to cut their losses. Tre'Yan was a loss, and judging by that wicked looking Ka-Bar knife, they were looking to cut this particular loss.

His opponent was fairly close, and had dropped his combat vest. Behind him, the rest of his walking armory... arms, had been placed down. Raeym Corporation must have had a lot of faith in this hitman, if they had advised him to take care of this particular piece of nasty business.

Tre'Yan's boxing knowledge kicked in - his opponent held his knife in high guard in the high position on the compass he had been taught. His non-weapon hand was positioned in front of that. Tre'Yan noted without speaking that the man had some type of combat training, and was now utltizing a primary high guard.

This man would be the Raeym Corporation's ticket to a load of money, perhaps tripling what they would gotten had Tre'Yan won his previous two matches. Oh that clever corporation, they probably betted a sizable amount on his future opponent. Even if he didn't die here, again, he wouldn't be in any shape to put up a capable fight.

Without knowing the capabilities of his opponent, Tre'Yan wouldn't risk going for an all out physical assault. Instead, he began to use his motion to move from the forward to the back, presenting a moving target, hoping to open up Cho's, whose name he had not yet learned, defense and hit him quick. Hit him hard.

Tre'Yan had adopted the style of a defensive out-boxer, but unlike the common defense boxer - Tre'Yan had the supreme capability to finish. The tactic was simple, force the opponent into a false sense of setting the pace, and then surprise them with a combination of basics and speed.
I may be aware of the power levels of the tournament, but she is not. It would be very metagamey for me to have Touho go in with the knowledge that she could just brute force everybody and win.

Can you explain this to me? In so far as it relates to MH's claim that you are seemingly of a much higher tier than expected for the tournament?
Added to the list.
It is advisable to get a fight or two under your belt, to get accustomed to the community in all, before playing for keeps and the like
Actually, I may just take it out and save it for the WOTW. Gotta keep something for the big stuff. Hahah

You should go here for more information The Official RPGuild Ranking Headquarters But the gist of it is below.

This is where many of the challenges for Guild's new ranking system shall take place, in so much as actually challenging other participants, keeping track of ranks, and viewing small "cards" with information about the fight.

How it works!

The process to getting a ranked fight is relatively simple.

First, you must be sure to register here, which is as simple stating your interest. You'll be given a beginning amount of points, which will automatically slot you somewhere on the ranking list. That point total is 1000.

From there, you are free to compete in accept, or announce, any open challenge. To do so, you simply post in the Character Sheet portion of the thread, or ask for a ranked fight in the Interest Check(you can also accept an open challenge there).

Another way to gain points is by participating in any of the OFFICIAL tournaments, which will be listed in the IC thread under their own heading. Some years may have three, and others may have four. Only HQ sanctioned tournaments will count towards points. They will be held either Jan. May. Sept. Or! Jan. April. July. Oct. Each aside from the last tournament of the year will a host, who'll decide how many points can be won as a bonus, and the various parts of the tournament.

How does a ranked fight work?!

Well, that's ultimately down to each fight. The person asking for a fight has free range to pick any type of fight and any arena they want, but you - as the challenged - have a right to accept or deny. Perhaps you can even negotiate it. Each fight WILL have a judge, on hand, to watch over the fight. You have to accept the judge. Their ruling, in many cases, will be final.

The other part of a ranked fight includes a wager, which can be anything from a minimum of 25 points, to an item your character has. Wagers are not mandatory.

The fight will take place in its own thread, but a small "card" will be posted in the IC portion of this thread. This will be done by the judge. It will include the names of all parties involved, comments by both participants and the judge, a link to the fight, the name of the arena, and if any wager was made. After the fight concludes, it will include the win type(Death, Surrender, etc.).

Arenas can be picked from the Arena BattleGround thread, or made up on the spot.

Well, how do I advance in the rankings?

Quite simply, you win matches! Beating a higher ranked opponent won't give you their spot, but it'll certainly give you points! And if you managed to secure a point wager, then they'll even LOSE points afterward!

In other words, the more points you get the higher in the ranking you go!

Or this.

Assumign you wanna participate in the rankings.
