Okay, I think it's less that Negima isn't well known (it was the most popular manga in the west at one point, so that's not exactly plausible), and more that... It just kind of seems like you haven't put much thought into it. An interest check is supposed to be just that, a gauge for interest, so you should probably work things out a bit more than "I like this manga, let's make an RP out of it!". As much as I like Negima (at least until the Magical World arc, that kind of dragged), I just... Don't really see much interest in the incredibly barebones setup you've provided. I'm intending this to be constructive criticism but I'm kind of bad at that so I hope it comes across the way I intended, but yeah. Constantly bumping the thread isn't going to do it; you're going to have to put a bit more work into your OP. I mean you don't need much, just a basic explanation of what it's all about and what kind of setting and tone should be expected, along with maybe a bit of flavour text to make it seem a bit more lively.
If you work on it a bit and try again, then maybe you might get some interest. Hope things go well for you next time, at least.

Looks fine to me.
Somewhat interested, but I think I'm spread a little thin right now but I'll see if I can get anything done.
Also would probably go for a Borjarnon Zaku II since it's a classic. But we'll see how things turn out. ^^;

I agree that an AU is probably a better idea, since it makes things a bit less complicated.
