By invoking the goddess in the name of victory, the chariot becomes wreathed in flames, setting all it crashes against alight. The flames represent not only her burning of Londinium, but the flames of her righteous fury towards the Roman Empire, who stole her freedom, defiled her daughters and tried to break her body.
