“Maybe we can get a bear cub? I hear they are small, adorable and extremely huggable?” Kosara suggested to Kathryn in turn at the woman’s apparent denial of her idea. Maybe they can put it in a burlap sack while it’s small enough and carry it around? Yeah that might work, mind you Kosara had no actual idea what a a bear cub’s size was. But it was probably small enough… right? It couldn’t be too big, she has seen small horses and camels… Alright, she just found the idea of a pet bear very amusing and probably complete fun to ride on later. It awas also very soft to hug.

“Ohh, I don’t mind!” The white haired tiefling chimed up to Lizbeth’s apparent concern about leaving her alone.” I would be a nice chance to catch up on my journal and I’m sure I can find a way to occupy myself the rest of the time.” She added with an absolutely happy tune. What Kosara might figure out to occupy herself with? Well that would be a story for another day, especially if she is indeed left to her own devices. Nothing too uptoward could happy anyways… right?

Kosara yelped as she jolted and jumped at Berry’s loud proclamations to get going and rest.” Right away, yes! I’m going!” She replied and bolted out and towards the second floor, sending her unbraided snowy hair cascading in her way to the outer door, then up the stairs and to the room where she slept. She only halted when she entered the second floor and closed the outer door. She blinked, titled her head and realized she had experienced a deja vu of sorts.” Hmm… he sounded a hells of a lot like big sister right there.” The tiefling mused as she walked over to the room and to her bed, noting V’s presence who had already settled in into the warm bed. Kosara decided that doing like V was probably the best course of action. Thus the tiefling set her bag next to the bed and began undressing and once she was left in her underclothes. Even with the fire going on, being in only her underclothes out of the bed was a bit chilly. Still she was actually kind of used to it. Deserts got surprisingly cold during the night. In any case, she went through some before bed routines, clothing clothes and herself, where using magic like prestidigitation or just a wet cloth. All in all, once she was done, she snuggled down into the blankets. She hadn’t heated them prior, but it didn’t take too long for her own body heat to warm the blankets and soon she was very warm and comfy.

The tiefling woman looked up from her warm blanket cocoon at the flickering shadows and lights cast by the fire. It was nice and relaxing and she soon found herself once more drifting off to the lands of dreams, the earlier nap not nearly enough for her to rest fully. Tomorrow she’d wake for her watch duty, then everybody would go out to do stuff and she was going to figure out what she could do also… after she writes the newest developments in her journal of course. Maybe she’d go out for a walk around the area again… Maybe…

Kosara let out a final sleepy yawn as the sleepiness got too heavy and finally she was fully out cold as she made herself more comfortable into her blankets wrap. Her horns meaning she could only every sleep on her back.

If there was anything truly important that could be taken from Kathryn’s speech, it wasn’t the various travels, locations and knowledge she was aware off from her travels… no. The truly important thing was that in fact it was a good soup! Kosara was very much in agreement as already displayed and gave a big hum of agreement and energetic nods when her VERY good friend complimented Lizbeth on the food too. Good food had to be complimented and eaten with great enthusiasm. It was only proper after all. Though there was a thread of thought lingering after that, something about a bear. After a few more mouthfuls of soups, she stopped, blinked, tilted her head in her usual manner and pondered before reaching a very important conclusion.” We need to tame a bear.” She stated flatly out of nowhere before returning to her food.

Kosara looked with curious expression at the following mentions of questions, but she had no idea what it meant exactly. The one Old man that might be relevant would be Liz’s grandpa who was very much dead. So this was a puzzling situation unless it meant that V was going to be necromancing some answers out of his remains… which was kinda ew considering that as far as the white haired tielfing was aware they didn’t do the same means to preserve the body around here and when he died it wasn’t cold enough to keep him from decaying? Actually on that thought, wouldn’t he be 100% frozen stiff right now? Would necromancing answers out of him break him if her attempts to move? She scattered those thoughts with another spoonful of soup since she wasn’t sure if that was even the plan. Maybe it was another old guy?

‘Ah.’ Yeah, it was Lizbeth’s grandfather that V was apparently going to go dig up to get her questions. She blinked, looking at the bard. Well that was interesting thing to do. She truly wondered how V was going to do it, now that she thought about it. The earth outside was hard cold and frozen. Now Kosara didn’t know much about how frozen earth was exactly, but her brief experience from playing ahm exploring outside meant that it was very hard to work with. Her eyes followed the purple clad woman until she left.” Hmmm...” She made a thinking sound as she returned to the food, pondering things that only she was aware of. Alternatively she might have been daydreaming about something while enjoying the meal. Truth was that letting the dead rest was important, but given the situation it was kind of imperative to get the answers to protect the living.

“Alright, so what’s the plan, it seems everybody has figured something while I was having my nap?” Kosara asked instead, looking at the others with great intent." Also if you are heading to Avonshire tomorrow, can you buy some things if I give you the coin while there?" She asked, blinking long snowy white eyelashes.

Dreamtime passed as dreams do, quick, hazy and probably revealing secrets of the universe that not a person would remember by the time they wake up. Eventually roused form her pleasant slumber by the sweet aroma of tasty food, Kosara started moving. A bit of a twitch, a bit of a turn and eventually a long white eyelashes fluttered as her white eyes opened and she very cutely yawned, stretching her arms and back in the process, smiling happily.” Ohh, it’s meal time?” She blinked, fluttering those white eyelashes a bit more before bolting upright from her seat with almost a jump. Then the pale tiefling pulled her chair with her over to the table to prepare for a meal and to get her own tableware.” This smells absolutely delightful, Lizbeth!” She told the younger woman with an absolutely huge smile on her face.

Everybody was seemingly setting in for the meal and Kosara now fully energized was smiling at everybody with the type of innocent joy and excitement that most adults rarely expressed. Kosara then briefly had her eyes move around the taproom and linger on each person, trying to figure out what it was that she had missed. It was… hard to figure out, but she supposed it was fine. Had it been truly important, the others would have woken her up, so likely it was things of substandard and not so important nature… or maybe just not so pressing nature at least! That was fine, that she could work with, but for now – food! She gave another big grin towards their host Lizbeth when the girl helped set her bowl of soup.” Thank you, Lizbeth.” She gave proper gratitude to the girl.

Kosara then proceeded to taste the liquidy goodness and let out a small bit of moan of enjoyment. This was some good soup… seriously good soup! Hearing Berry’s question and figuring this was a fine moment to rejoin the discussions and merriment of the party, she took her chance.” Down south in the deserts, though I’d advise to stick to the trade roads as getting lost in the endless sands is a slow and unpleasant way to go. Still there are a lot of beautiful sights to see. A golden sea of sands, cities build around the water sources that can be found there or at ports.” Kosara gave her two coppers in that discussions. She wasn’t as well traveled as the others, her whole journey so far had been from leaving home at the oasis to getting to the nearest port city, getting a ship north, then a bit of travel on foot and via carriage to Avonshire. She had a bit more knowledge on the geography of her home and the deserts because of her Patron, but admittedly not exactly much.

"As for places to avoid, I would say to avoid any of the ancient ruins in the deep desert... There be all kinds of nasty things there. In fact better avoid the deep desert away from the trade roads entirely if you are headed in that direction." Kosara added, enjoying her soup, spoonful by spoonful, with a happy grin on her face.

As if on cue from Berry’s mention of her name, Kosara made a cutesy moan and mumbled about the camels stealing her food once more, before turning a bit to the side so the warmth of the fire hits her body differently from her siting position before turning still and silent once more, only the soft sounds of her breathing to be heard from her at the moment, long white hair still left loose falling down across her back, over the chair she was sitting on and even the ends of it touching the ground from her slumped relaxed posture on said chair that served as her napping place.

Had Kosara been awake to witness and hear properly the words and discussion being had about the fact that V was planning to ask Mr L’Rose’s some very pointed question about his schenanigans and how they affect the rest of his family, Kosara would have loved to give her own questions to the mix. Alas, Kosara was well into the process of her napping so she missed it. Instead another mumble was had about the fact that the camel was bullying her. Truly camels were the most evil of animals and were out to get her. Not really, Kosara liked Camels usually… when they were stealing her food that is!

Currently in the lands of dreams Kosara was running in circle around a big table, running away from said camel that was chasing her on it’s hind legs and trying to grab her. The little white haired tiefling was instead holding her honeyed bread for dear life, keeping it away from the evil menance. Out in the corner of the room they were doing that, a similar pale tiefling was gnawing on a bit of meat, completely ignoring the proceedings and being ignored in turn.

Kosara’s dream antics were to go unnoticed, unless somebody had means to travel to the dream realms. It was a pleasant restful nap and it was going to take a while longer for her to wake up unassisted. Somebody was going to have to wake her up or something in the environment changed. Like the sweet scent of food that Lizbet was starting to prepare, but there was still time before that happened.

Kosara’s earned reactions from her sleep talking wasn’t a thing she was aware of and how it caused the others in the room to react to it just like how everybody else lacked the context of the words to truly appreciate the rather marvelous taste of fried scorpions! Nor how well they went with beer and honey. Simple fact was that Kosara was enjoying a very nice dream about home in the aftermath of a frankly tiring and stressing situation. So yes, she was enjoying ALL the fried scorpions with some nicely chilled beer and some honey. It was nice especially so when Vierna appeared to pat her on the head like she always did since Kosara was little and first started living there.

She mumbled something or other that made absolutely no sense, since it was a collection of random sounds rather than proper words, but the white haired teifling woman made herself more comfortable in her sleep and moved herself into the headpat like she was a sleepy cat.

All was good in Kosara’s little corner of the world both in the physical and in the dream realms and while she was missing the discussion about what they would be doing to prepare for the future in her nap, she was resting well so once she woke up a bit later, she would be once more full of energy and enthusiasm to live the best life she could and unintentionally cause as much headaches as she could. Because Kosara was a nice girl and any headaches caused were an unintended side effects to her actions and plans. That was all for later however,, for now Kosara’s priorities laid elsewhere… in the giant plate of sweet flat breads with fruitjam that just appeared the moment ALL the fried scorpions were eaten! She didn’t even mind the Kosara double with the mean eyes that was also eyeing the plate of flat breads from the other side of the table with just about the same ravenously hungry expression! She made a few more content sounds in her sleep before turning quiet.

Kosara’s comfortable and pleasant time by the fireplace was quickly transformed into a comfortable and pleasant nap time by the fireplace. The constant noise of the taproom, with people talking, some moving about and the enjoyable crackle of the fireplace meant that her already tired self quickly began nodding off into the lands of dreams. It was a quick experience too. One moment she was listening to somebody speaking, probably V… then she blinked as the crackle of wood burning was very relaxing and then somebody else was talking and then everything was kinda muted and she was yawning and then… Kosara was peacefully sleeping by the fireplace with a tiny content smile on her lips. The people and the noise didn’t seem to bother her much at this moment, no in fact for Kosara’s subconscious this… was most familiar. Warmth, chatter, friends and family… baring the wild undead in the basement of course. So she enjoyed her nap, which was very good especially since she had burned through some of her magical energy to cast the spells she did.

Kosara didn’t have some grand dreams or nightmares happening during her nap time. What she dreamed of was mostly regular day to day things from back home, of enjoyable daily routines and of people she had not seen for what felt like years at this point, but was closer to an year total. Nostalgia and longing for home was a thing she had been experiencing on occasion and this… this nap was nice. While subconscious, this remembrance of home was precious to her. Of her Gramps, the man who ran the caravan stop where she mostly grew up and his rough and tough attitude, but caring and gentle when he needed to and how he treated all the people working for him as his own children. Of him getting angry at her for trying to do things that weren’t safe or good for her. Seeing her many sisters, all the women who worked at the place too be they waitresses, cooks or dancers. How they doted on her, told her stories or joined in on her mischief whenever she was up to pranks and how they got angry at her when she got into too much trouble… Of Vierna, one of her oldest sister an elven woman who had spend years at the caravan stop and who was one of those who always looked after her.

“No Vierna, I want to eat all the fried scorpions...” She mumbled in her sleep, smiling and recalling some of her best days in her life. Everything was going to be fine, as the crackling fire continued it’s merry melody to the sleeping tiefling woman, her content smile was probably dazzling.

“There were townsfolk who looked like they belonged back home… like in Farid’s homeland back home and all of them had these REALLY old faces.” Kosara replied to the bard with serious voice and expression.” I cannot tell you what that means and how it happened, but I’m fairly sure that’s not supposed to be the case this far north. It didn’t click at first when I was in town, but after a bit I just realized it and I’m not sure what that’s about, well aside some really bad possible scenarios.” The tiefling quipped.

“So… whatever happens will happen somewhere between Frostfall and your birthday, with it being very possibly being the birthday as the date?” She guessed, hearing Lizbeth’s words.” We’ve got a bit of time yet, but not too much and we cannot be certain our persons of interest will not attempt to give us another reminder.” She she commented, sitting down once more. They had a lot of info to pull from, but the question was if they could do anything with that information. So far it all was a tangle of leads that seemed to lead nowhere by themselves, not completely of course they finally had some progress. Whatever was going on was almost certainly focused around Lizbet’s fate and was put in motion all the way back before her birth. Then the dwarf’s words clicked in and her eyes moved to rest on him.

Stone cellar covers that were placed VERY far back ago and nobody knows where they ended? If somebody had to know where they were put it would be the craftsman who was commissioned to make em and usually to install them. Another piece of the puzzle that. If THAT was part of it, Kosara doubted Liz’s grandpa went far out of his way to move them somewhere far away. It would be counterproductive and somebody would notice it probably… so there might be something buried far closer to home here too… Just a possible thing to keep in mind she supposed. It could also be just more things vineyard things stored, but seeing as apparently nobody knew where, she doubted it. No it was just another part of the mystery that was Mr L’Rose. Who really had to be kicked in the shins a few times for causing all this mess and then cursed to stub his toes on furniture until he repents completely!

Kosara then briefly wondered if it was worth drinking the evil booze too and try to see if she too can gleam any insights into it, but in the end decided not to. Nah… Grandpa would be displeased if she did… maybe. She had no way to confirm. Well her other Grandpa whom she called Gramps and ran the caravan rest would be displeased for drinking obviously non up to standard alcohol. Then her sisters would all fuss over her and make her promise to not drink evil alcohol again… like they did that one time with the mild hallucinogenic cactus water… She still had no idea why. They could do it after all, but it wasn’t allowed for her. Not fair!

In the end Kosara decided to just enjoy a bit of rest after the chaos that was wild magic teleporting undead in the basement and scooted her chair over to the fireplace where she sat down, enjoying the fire, a cup of tea and surprisingly keeping quiet or she might have been in the process of starting a nap too. Her eyes were kinda narrowed and head was bobbing up and down with her breathing after a bit after a specifically notable yawn.

“Maybe not a Lich per say… but something adjacent? I don’t imagine a man if it’s indeed Farid, not to say the whole name in case it attracts his attention somehow, Imagine he wants to stay as an undead lich. But maybe he has means to avoid death… I did notice a lot of OLD faces in town that wouldn’t look out of place back home in the south if you get my meaning.” Kosara replied to V. There was no way to confirm or deny if their probable antagonist was an undead lich. If it was who they claim to be they had been a very dangerous Necromancer to begin with. Their seeming silence and keeping a low profile in an area like this was probably unusual.

“It highly depends on the precise wording of whatever deal was offered. Grandpa coached me mostly that when making magical deals and promises the wording was extremely important to consider.” Kosara was after all a Warlock, so knowingly or not she had to be tutored in how the damn pact deals worked. A lot of it went over her head at the end of if it all, but she knew that wording was important. Probably the most important part of the whole thing, it was how you got away with things that might not be in the spirit of the deal.

“Everybody lies for something… question is what.” The tiefling quipped to the bard’s statement. It was true! Even Kosara lied… sometimes…. Probably. She couldn’t remember the last time she had tried to lie though. Must have been a while or it must not have been important enough. Kosara had a completely random thought that snuck into her mind as she listened to V talk with Barbal and then turn to herself to explain the lich’s phylacteries.

“Well that sounds about right for most things that cling to life, destroy the source of it’s life sustaining magics and it’s gone? Yes…” Kosara mumbled in agreement, throwing a look at Lizbet.” On a side note… I know that’s probably NOT it, but have we considered the simplest possibility Farid’s looking for a bride for a reason or another or possibly a child to claim?” The tiefling asked her question with a fairly straight face and pretty serious voice.
