Varis stared at the tavern as he stood outside, his hood on and his cloak flying behind him as a strong gust of wind filled with sand flew in his direction. As Varis was about to take a step forward, Varis stumbled forward as someone bumped into his right shoulder. Varis quickly regained himself and stood up, looking in front of him, waiting for the man who had bumped into him to utter an apology, but instead saw the man walk into the bar without any so hint of acknowledging Varis.
Varis slowly moved his right hand towards the pommel of his short sword as he took a single step forward, but stopped himself before he was able to even touch the pommel of his sword. Varis then moved his right hand down to his side, clenching his fist as he slowly walked inside.
As Varis neared the entrance, he stopped once more before sighing and raising both of his hands towards his head only to flip his hood off of him. Varis then sighed once more before lowering his head for the door -- something that he does out of instinct now rather than the entrance being too short for him -- and entering the tavern. Varis stopped soon after he was inside the tavern, looking around at the people inside of the tavern only to come to the realization of one thing: he was horribly out of place.
Of course, Varis had always looked out of place due to his rather shifty looking armor and shifty looking dark-green cloak, but never before had he been this out of place. The people inside of the tavern wore incredibly fine, luxuriant, heavy-looking garments made out of fine looking silk, while Varis wore his usual dirty and shifty looking equipment. Varis sighed once more -- albeit more quieter then this -- and walked towards the counter of the bar. As Varis took a seat at a stool, he couldn't help but feel as if everyone's eyes were on him, regardless or not if they actually were. Varis hated it.
Assassins hated being out of place.
Dear god, what am I doing at this absolutely filthy rat hole? Varis asked himself as he looked down at the counter.
its weird. Only two of the people who responded that they were interested in the interest check page made a character sheet. Anyhow once enough people post in the ic I will post again.
Just waiting for someone else to post so I can work off it~
Attania is utterly useless until he pulls out of that slump and gets a new katana or fixes his katana, so he can just get the worst "bottom-of-the-barrel" role.
Born in a small village in Japan, Taiki was raised by his aunt after his father had turned him away because of Taiki's mother having complications during his birth. For half of his life, he was raised in a rural village by both his aunt and uncle until at the age of nine, his father returned for him and brought him back to the city.
There, Taiki was sent to a private academy to catch up on his education (since his aunt and uncle didn't exactly teach him a whole lot in the village except for farming) and to make friends his own age. Taiki, although a rather quiet boy, was able to find friends of his own. Friends who accepted him, friends who liked him, friends who wanted to be around him. Taiki cherished his friends, and would do various activities with them such as club sports. One day, after waiting in line with his friends at a store for days on end, Taiki rushed home to play a game, a game that he and his friends were excited for. A game known as Sword Art Online.
Taiki is a quiet boy who is rather soft spoken. He isn't exactly a leader, but more or less a follower. He would often be with his friends and loved ones until the end of days rather than be alone.
Taiki stands at around 5'8 and is rather slender. He has long, dark brown hair for a boy and has brown eyes.
Once in the game, Taiki and his friends formed a party together and began to actually play the game, with each one of them choosing a weapon to their liking. Taiki himself chose a curved blade (a scimitar) to fight with until eventually, he unlocked the Katana skill.
When the situation of being stuck in the game arose, Taiki's friends were quick to act to the situation that had just developed. The four of them -- Taiki included -- stuck together at nearly all times, and on more than one occasion, saved each other from near death situation such as when Taiki was nearly murdered in cold blood in an alleyway. The four had each others' back and wanted nothing more but to get out of the game and return to their normal lives -- although, they did confess that they preferred this over their lives.
Of course, this small little group did not last for long. Over the course of the game, his friends began to die off. Whether it be due to small mistakes that led to their death or dying due to PKers, eventually, in a dungeon with others, after a rather large scale fight where Taiki's katana broke in the middle of the fight, Taiki's friend died after succumbing to his wounds. For the first time, Taiki was finally alone.
Feeling guilty for his friend's death -- which was caused when Taiki's friend shielded Taiki from a monster's attack when Taiki's katana broke -- Taiki began to wander around in the game with his broken katana and a dagger that he had looted off of a mob.
