The past few minutes came like a whirlwind.

To begin with, her Servant mentioned something about both of them being pupils? The full extent of what Caster was trying to tell her was lost to her, but at the very least, this confirmed that Charlie was, in fact, a pupil of some kind. This was cause for celebration! The war had just started, yet she was already the victor! While every other master would spend their time fighting for something they'll never achieve, Charlie already has what she wanted, and within the next two weeks she'll have a cool new chalice.

However, Charlie wasn't given the moment to really celebrate her victory. Enemy servants were near and apparently her fighting style wasn't suited to assist her servant. That wasn't all too surprising for her, as why would a magus such as herself be good enough to directly impact a battle like that? She simply wasn't fit for that type thing, as much as she hated herself for it. Ah well, she needed to listen to her Servant's advice. Instead of hiding in some dark alleyway, Charlie chose to hide inside of a cafe, $t*rbu¢k$. It was a weird name for a cafe, but that was in style these days, wasn't it?

While her Servant was confronting the enemy, Charlie was ordering two caramel cappuccinos. Once she had acquired the cappuccinos from the barista, Charlie exited the building and began moving towards another location. While she was under plenty of spells that suppressed every aspect of her identity, she felt the need to keep moving. Staying in one place for too long was waiting for a predator to attack.

And then they were off, going through the streets of this remote, isolated, island nation. The bright lights of the anime signs at night made it fairly difficult for her to see, but she was managing to find her way. Despite not being used to such large bright signs of lewdly drawn characters, she was quickly adapting. Her family estate was usually kept fairly bright, something about how bright lights were associated with both angels and fairies.

Once her eyesight was fully adjusted, she was on full alert. Every alleyway could have waited danger and every person on the street was a potential magus. From this night onward, Tokyo was going to turn into a battlefield. Even if the millions of inhabitants were unaware of it, the city was not going to look the same by the end of this conflict. Charlie was not sure of the kind of damage that the city would go through, minimal or major, but ultimately, there was going to be damage. Innocent lives were probably going to be lost as well.

This city was a tragedy waiting to happen.

"Hey, Caster, since we both work with the fae, would it be a bother if I asked you to instruct me? It would be an honor to learn from someone like you!"

A question to save the girl from thinking too hard.

Not that it was really out of nowhere or anything, for it was the real reason for her participating in the war. To advance her family by summoning someone connected to the Fae and learning all she could within 2 weeks. The excitement of actually summoning someone so prolific and showing them the modern world made the question slip from her mind. However, if she couldn't gain anything from her Servant, then her priorities in the war would have to change.

After asking that question, her face turned slightly red. It was a horrible time to ask, and she absolutely botched how it should have been done. To begin with, starting with "Hey, Caster" instead of something like "Please, my lord" was a massive blunder. What proper King would take a student who showed such little respect? Following that, why did she not bow? It was a bit disgraceful for a magus to lower themselves to such a point, but for an opportunity like this? She truly was an idiot.

Most importantly, why would King Arthur teach a like her?

Charlie simply kept her head low and waited for the rejection.

"Avoiding the first night...?"
Charlie wrapped her head around what exactly it was that her Servant was trying to say. Were they not enjoying the nightlife in one of Tokyo's finest nighttime establishments? What more did this city have to offer during the evening hours? Her butler told her that Akihabara was the greatest place in Japan during these hours! What greater means of entertainment could she offer her Servant? There were trying times.

On the airplane over, Charlie did here some fellow Englishmen speaking on how they were so excited for the Japanese nightlife. They mentioned places like Roppongi and Kabukichō, but since her butler never mentioned them, Charlie assumed they were for the poor. Could it be that her Servant wanted to see how the more simple people lived in this era? Yes! That must have been it! They would go to Kabuki-

It was at the end of this thought that Saber mentioned they were going to go around patrolling. It appeared that Saber didn't want to enjoy the nightlife, but instead, wanted to see if they would run into any enemies. This seemed strange for a Caster, but Charlie wasn't going to second guess her Servant. After all, they were the great King Arthur! They had made absolutely 0 bad decisions in their life. Ever.

According to that anime at least...

"Oh, well I hope you didn't get the wrong impression of me, Caster. I entered this war fully aware of what was to happen, and I have no intent on backing down. If you are to be my sword, then I will join you in the fray."

Her steadied her resolve and prepared herself for whatever may come. Battle was the last thing a proper magus should ever bother themselves with, but if it meant advancing her family, then it would be a necessary step. Besides, at this point, was it even right for her to call herself a proper magus? What self respecting magus has anything to do with Norwich?

Just as she was about to exit the booth, her Servant began chanting. A series of spells was cast upon Charlie. These spells included something that would hide and suppress her command mantra signature, a spell to alter her appearance, and a spell that would reject magecraft on the level of an amulet. Finally, a tiny little companion who appeared out of (seemingly) nowhere flew into Charlie's bag. She was not going to question this, even though she had a myriad of questions to ask in regards to it.

"With all of that out of the way, are you ready, Caster?"

Before even waiting for her Servants words, Charlie began heading out. There was no point in waiting, for she already knew her Servant's answer. Nobody would be more prepared for war than the legendary King Arthur herself.

"Aaaah, Caster, are you enjoying the show? I hope it is living up to your expectations! My butler said it was the best anymay he had seen on the topic!"

In truth, Charlie had no actual idea what anime was. How could she? She lived the life of your typical magus, so such modern concepts were foreign to her. She at least knew what a TV was, DVD player, and so forth, even if she had personally never really used one prior. The entire reason she wanted to see one of these mythical "anime" was because she wanted her Servant to get a good feel of modern culture. Since they were in Japan, her Servant would get to experience modern Japanese culture.

Obviously, it was more savage than her own cultured ways, but alas, a backwater ritual such as this could have only been thought up by a backwater people.

Because of her desire to get a better idea of the culture of these people, she attempted to eat her good with a pair of chopsticks. She also made sure that the Chinese food she ordered came in those takeout containers. Unfortunately, she had never tried eating with chopsticks before, so the task was much more difficult than it really should have been. Charlie wasn't the type to quit, however. Instead of the proper way of using them, she merely stabbed the boneless ribs before her with them, and ate in that fashion. It wasn't very lady like, but sometimes your pride overtakes such things. Losing to a pair of chopsticks would have been far too much for her to handle.

"I hope the food is to your liking! I ordered from the most expensive Chinese delivery place I could find!"

It was 100% a ripoff, but she wasn't going to know that. In truth, she actually wasn't the one to find the Chinese delivery place. Before even ordering it, she had never even tried using a phone before. The only reason she was able to survive in modern Japan was because her butler wrote her a guide on how to survive the modern world.

This guide had illustrations showing her how to go about performing certain tasks, such as putting in the DVD into the DVD Player and pressing the play. It also came prepared with a map of Tokyo, but it seemed that the Akihabara section was more detailed than any other. Suspiciously enough, it seemed that this butler was big into the whole anime thing, to the point where his room in her family's estate was covered in anime memorabilia.

Clearly, it was but a mere coincidence.

The anime that was suggested was an old King Arthur one from the late 70's. Charlie found it fitting to show her Servant how modern Japanese public viewed her. Not the “being a man part,” literally everyone, including Charlie until a few hours ago, believed that King Arthur was a man. The more deeper parts of Arthur's character is what Charlie wanted her Servant to see. How was King Arthur characterized? These were the hard hitting questions she wanted to see addressed.

The place they were watching the anime in was a little store in Akihabara, though, Charlie read in her guide that it was better to call it "Akiba." She would sound weirder to the locals otherwise. It was standard for stores to allow customers to rent out a DVD and watch them in a little booth. You typically aren't allowed to bring food in, but using the feminine power of "hiding things in purse," it wasn't a problem for Charlie!

The downside of these types of places was that they seemed really seedy and the deeper you went into the store the more and more depraved some of the posters and DVDs became. She merely averted her Servant's eyes to such a sight, and hurried on into the little booth they had. Her Servant was too pure for such a sight.

Looks like I'll be working with you here as well Sakaki.

Ahh, the Dice Gods are finally coming to bless me after my recent garbage rolls in Pathfinder! Bless!
@Reflection

So a lecturer in General Fundamentals and occasionally shows up in Creation?
I'll state my interest!

Oh, and @Reflection, what department does your character teach in? General Fundamentals?
@heroic2019@KoL

Hmmm, Charlie isn't exactly the type to have super duper close friends, she is a bit of a shut in in that sense. However, I could totally see her joining a club or something they're all a part of.

The idol club of course.
@KoL

Charlie isn't the type to be super forthcoming with information, but assuming their relationship was beyond "oh yes, I see you in the halls sometime," Charlie might mention her eyes to Alex. If Charlie sees that Alex cares THAT much about them, she might even begin to explain what having the eyes are exactly like. She isn't sure how useful that would be, but considering how little she could do, it seemed like the only thing she could really help with.
