Been on this site for 6 years, but was on the previous version that crashed. Found this site in its original stage not long after the fall of Quizilla forums.

The Empire of Caradia. An expansive piece of land that would take a year to cross if it were flat and had no trees. But it's got rolling foothills, forests, villages, ancient relics and buildings, and lakes and rivers all over. It's back and sides are enclosed by the mountains which opens up to the sea. The have ports that allow them to travel to countries such as Lumoise, Waylox, or the singular island country of Haton for trade. The other countries are a little further out and they've yet to establish a good repertoire with them. It's currently in a time of peace, but with a slowly building anxiety. The current Empress, Esmeralda, bares an uncanny resemblance to the statues of the twin Goddesses that the people worship. The problem? One Goddess represent everything that is good, which leaves the other to be all that is bad. But they look exactly the same, it's the posture of the statue that separates them. Good reaches for the sky and the other reaches towards the the earth. The Emperor insists that this is sign that their reign is divine and that no one has the right to question it. The people debate constantly which twin they believe that Esmeralda is supposed to be. She strives to be the good Goddess to them, wanting nothing more than to see the country flourish.
The Goddesses seem to almost be insulted by her trying to be them because in the past few years, reports of a plague in some of the villages on the far side of the empire have reached the royals. Then to make matters worse, creatures started crawling out of the woodworks, originating from one of the villages. The creatures have bodies that are completely black like ink, but are practically bulging with muscles. Their heads are elongated skulls of animals, teeth stained with blood as well as the claws on their hands and feet. The only way to tell if one is alive or dead is by the dull red glow in the eye sockets. They're mercilessly and seem to thrive on the reaction their presence creates. Needless to say, blame is being flung at Esmeralda's lovely face, blaming her for the problems being struck up under her rule. What is an Emperor to do for his distressed queen but to take up arms and go to the problem at the source. He plans to make the journey to the village where the creatures were said to first appear and he hopes that the answers to making them disappear lies there. Esmeralda pleads for him not to leave since the plague was in that region as well, but he can't sit idly by while his people continue to suffer. He sends out a decree to have those willing to brave the trip join him. He insists that his armies need to stay where he has them posted to protect the people from the monsters.
You will be one of the recruits joining the Emperor as he makes his journey to the mysterious village. Please check with me on species other than human, please and thanks.
These rules ought to sound a little repetitive for an advanced rp, but I'll state them anyways. No god moding or power playing. Your characters are not perfect and will miss or get hit eventually. You cannot control other people's characters to make them do what you want them to do, unless you have expressed permission from that character's user. Try to post at least once a day. I realize that's hard and sometimes you get busy, and if that's the case, try to forewarn us. I don't want people getting left behind and then getting ill when we thought they were a no show. On that same note, try to not post a hundred gazillion times and leave people behind. If it's you and one other character talking, try and find one of those collab things and post it that way. Just try not to have ten novels in a post. I suppose I shouldn't make the assumption we're all adults here, but I kind of am. I don't mind swearing, just try to have some other kinds of vocabulary mixed in there too, and innuendos and such are fine. Anything too much more than that, we need to draw a line. If you really need to have your kinky scene with someone, take it to the PMs. Lastly, this is a made up world. Anything that isn't directly stated by me or by a character that's devised the place we're in is up for manipulation. You can do whatever you want to get your plot conveniences. Run your idea by me in the ooc or the pms and if I give the ok, then go for it. If you have a question about how the people of Waylox would react, again, just shoot me a question. Have fun with! I'm looking forward to it! Okay to sum up how magic is looked at in Caradia: It's not a foreign concept to them. They do trade with a country called Lumoise (Which is on the other side of the crag than Waylox for those who look at my other rps) which is run by mages, their religion revolves around it. Caradia's not super thrilled with mages, but if they're not hurting anyone then they see no need to really involve themselves in their business. People are a little more likely to give a weird look if they know you're a mage, but, unless you have a bad reputation, they aren't gonna run in terror from you. If you've established a good reputation then they'll ignore that weird magic mumbo jumbo and be quite chummy with you.
*Spins in chair, waiting patiently for anyone else*
No this one got full, that's why I made that other one lol. This one is surprisingly popular, I never get this many people rearing to be an rp
Yay!!
Name: Jasce Nighteye Age: 17 Gender: Male Personality: If the opening paragraph doesn't help any, here we go. Jasce is a goofball, but it's honestly to entertain others. It's a semi-depressing town they live in, so he tries to be a sort of comic relief. He is actually quite serious- you have to be in a town like this. He's not exactly quick witted but he isn't as stupid as he pretends to be. He is very protective of his friends, and you might find yourself with a knife in your rib cage, usually on the left side, if you try to hurt them. When it's time to get down to business, Jasce straightens up and is quite capable of taking care of things. History: Jasce was born and raised in the beautiful town of Meidiba. His parents were murdered early on his life and he sort of came under the wing of the boss man, though he wasn't actually raised by him. He was passed around between people who had the time to deal with someone of his high energy level. Because of this, he's quite loyal to the boss man. He doesn't question much what he's told to do and seeing the other two factions get stronger over the years feels like an insult to the boss. But the boss said not to do anything with them, just to focus on what he told them to do because he wasn't worried about "the little pissing match" that would come to be if they got too powerful. He has a friend Levlonggir but he usually just calls him Lev because he feels it's too much to say. They're kind of polar opposites, but that's kind of what makes them work. When he became old enough to start doing odd jobs, they worked together to accomplish the goals, though it was usually Lev dragging Jasce along and cleaning up his messes. The boss finds it quite entertaining when the two come back to report to him cause of the conversations/arguments that ensue. His lackeys would prefer to go on to the next item of business, but they don't exactly tell the boss that since he's too busy just sitting back and watching them. In the past few months, the boss has introduced a new member to the group- a female dark elf, he calls her Zoobie. Jasce has treated the whole thing like a big game. He likes getting to explain things like he actually knows what he's talking about, but then Lev comes in and ruins the whole thing by explaining it properly. He knows this town like the back of his hand, so if you're trying to catch him for some reason, you're going to lose. The only person who can is Lev, because he knows where he's mostly likely to pop back out at. He can't get lost in his town, but he will pretend to be lost if he accidentally runs in to Bloodthirst or Lady Z's crew because they don't tend to like him- something to do with him constantly running his mouth. Another reason he might likely come back out of hiding is because Zoobie gets "kidnapped," aka because he forgot she was following him and she got lost in the process of him trying to get away from something. Lev usually finds her by the time that lightbulb finally goes off. The lecture that follows has become a broken record. Abilities: He's quick with a knife, but he's not likely to be all that stealthy if he isn't used to the terrain. In his hometown? Good luck catching him once he's completed his job. When he's got something to complete, there's point in trying to joke with him, because he's focused. If he's in a terrain where he doesn't really know how to easily get away, the shadows become his best friend and the easiest means of escape. Anything extra?:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zagQpB_c0M
This is a branch off from the other roleplay I have going on,
"Welcome to Meidiba. This is a town of opportunity. You can harness your skill sets of magic and lock picking at any open moment. You may also find yourself being the victim of a pick pocketing on a daily basis, so you might want to work on your reflexes. But have no fear, we're nowhere near a bad as some of the cities closer to the crag. They're all but foaming at the mouths, or so the stories say, we're not actually allowed to go any closer than the edge of the town. If you get caught going that far, boss man'll have your ass kicked. (Both friends decide to comment that nothing was actually covered) What? That's the true jist of it. If I didn't cover it, you'll figure it out soon 'nuff, trust me. (Friends roll eyes as they abandon) HEY WAIT!" A town of magicians, thugs, thieves, and plenty of combinations of the three. Those that are wise to business and how the world works can live quite comfortably, so long as you the right palms to grease.
People you ought to look for: 1. The boss man. We have zero idea what his actual name is due to the fact he's been referred to as the boss in some form or another for at least two decades. He's as strong as he is merciless. "He's older than sin." 2. Lady Z of the rival faction. Mischievous, seductive, and a cunning liar. Her silver tongue is almost as sharp as her steel. 3. Roy Metezul... Metzulz.....but everyone calls him Bloodthirst because of his personality and the fact no one can pronounced him name. He is in charge of a group of bandits that gets in trouble with the boss constantly. He has his own section of town and constantly trying to get power. 4. Enigma. He has a name but no one really speaks with him because he is the liaison to the dark elves, and he does business for them. The elves live in the bosses territory closest to the crag, so they pay taxes and such, mostly cause they don't really have time to worry about it. But as the boss says, don't go trying to get more than what they're already being charged cause you won't come back You are a character in this town. You are going to be joining in as things are reaching the boiling point. For most of the part, you should be a human character unless you have PMed me something with an incredible story. You post something here without me checking it that isn't human, instant denied, regardless of how good it is.
The crag is just as it sounds. A giant gaping hole in the earth. However, raw magic is seeping out of the crag and its created adverse affects on the people it touches. The people of this town for instance. You're as likely to have magic as a lock picking set. Probably have both. Magic is easy for people to use around here, though not necessarily everyone has to use it. As was said, the dark elves live closest to the crag which makes them rather sickly in stature but if they attack you with a spell, you're done for. The point of this little venture? Remember, this is the boiling point. The corruption from the magic is getting worse, it's like a sickness that sets in after awhile. We'll go more in to the symptoms once more people show up. But there just so happens to be another country full of mages that might just be the kind of breather people from this town could use- Lumoise.
I'll post my character in a little bit (A little being probably in a few hours cause it's too late now for me to think XD). Got questions about the story? Post them and I'll see what I can do.
T_T it's okay. I'll wait. And flush out more of the world
I shall have a post up by Friday. And Sana it's Thom not Throm meh it's a small nitpick.
Sorryyyyy >_< I fix.
Rhysln didn't miss that her words hadn't been what some wanted to hear, but there wasn't much she could do about that. At the moment, words were all she had. She could do nothing about whatever these people felt about her except be aware of the fact they were just as likely to turn on her as her enemies. That was always the way of things though. Everyone blamed the singular head of the current era for the mistakes of the last or the mistakes of those underneath them. Funny how they were still just as human as those flinging the accusations though. She honestly couldn't care if this Bellady priestess didn't like her, she personally didn't ask anyone to go there and she knew none of her three would have gone there, so once it was over, if she still decided to stick her nose further up in the air like she was trying to touch the clouds, she'd gladly send her to Esmeralda and let her deal with her. Caradia was more than big enough to occupy someone like her with its troubles. As for the Qiran, well. She'd try diplomacy first, but there was nothing she could do to fix the mistakes of the past. To fix the fact there had been a hundred other problems between them and the Yeojin. She could do nothing but apologize and try and repay her for troubles, but she was not about to let it dictate her current actions. All she could do now was try and keep anything like it from happening again. Her attention went to Nautica, who was one the verge of strangling this newcomer that nearly knocked her over and then proceeded to call her runt multiple times. As she went through her bag and dropped the several articles on the floor, her eyes landed on the royal seal. Speaking of Esmeralda, this proved she was definitely sticking her nose in their business whether she asked for it or not. Covering her own rump probably. She was about to respond to her question of what she wanted when several other things occurred. First Thom decided to remind Blayze and Rand that neither of them decided to stay there, then Blayze asked her about the commander- his promotion to the Knight Commander was only a few years old before they had been forced out, though he had been acknowledged on that level of prestige long before he had the title, so he was still often referred to as Captain. She wasn't that worried and held a finger up to him as Jolu spoke. She raised her brows hearing that they had fought in the Hill King battles, the stories of that seeming to know no bounds, "Very impressive. I would think it would be hard to get hands on anyone with such experience, but I suppose you being here means the nasty rumors about the ranks that were the field were also true. It would be honor to have you among our ranks and you should be well rewarded for your efforts made." She looked at Avarice as he spoke, listening to his words. She gave a short, tight smile as he said most would be at her side if an assassin attacked. Honestly, aside from those closest to her, she didn't expect any of them to willingly die for her. Why should they? Right now, she was simply offering the chance to get rid of a tyrant, but she wouldn't blame half of them if they'd try to be rid of the queen too. But with their position in the world, the crag, the mountains, the deep woods, and the sea blocking them in, they had to have some kind of ruler for it all to not to fall utterly apart. Before she could then address and assuage Blayze's worries about their beloved knight, the door opened with a bit more force than necessary and said commander came in to the room, approaching the group. He bowed to his queen, who bade him to rise. He looked to Lord Corbray and made more of a soldiers salute, his arm across his chest, his fist pounding over his heart, "I cannot thank you enough for keeping Her Highness safe in my absence. It seems it is you alone I can thank for that effort because I have received plenty of word that she was left completely unattended," his words became colder, cutting like the blade at his hip as his eyes went to Rand and Blayze as he put his arms behind his back, "And I'll be expecting an explanation on that matter later. For now," he turned and surveyed the group around them, "It seems I've missed the introductions. I am Knight Commander Bayweil Mawblack. Your presence here is reassuring but make no mistake. Just because you've come all this way does not mean I'm by any means obligated to let you stay. If I see so much a threat to life of the Queen or her sister, you'll have a five minute head start before I cut you down," he said as Rhysln cleared her throat. "No need for that quite yet, Commander, everything's quite civil thus far," she said, but he shook his head. "Always best to lay out the consequences at the beginning, my liege, so they can't be too surprised when I act upon it," he said simply. "But before you focus all your anger on just those two, don't forget who else isn't here," Nautica tried to say. "He didn't know where we were going, so it isn't nearly as disappointing," Bayweil said sternly and she pursed her lips, having hoped to spare them some trouble.
*thumbs up* I'm probably gonna post again tomorrow night, just a forewarning for the two who haven't posted yet.
