Über Ethereal

Desolate Bern, Switzerland

@Absolis@Hamstrong@AgentFallenSoul

Despite the Ethereal's warning, Bambietta had manifested a form of callous aggressiveness toward the mystery individual hiding from sight. The alien didn't react to the maniac's threats, as it was somewhat predictable from the demented Quincy's part. Nonetheless, at least there wasn't any active assault on the unknown bloke in which issues had already surfaced when paired with the sternritter. It didn't prevent Cyano from reacting negatively to this 'welcome' she referred to. The Ethereal could sense something, like a glitch running about as it focused on the humanoid female. She seemed to have the typical attribute of one of those psychic resisting brawlers. It didn't surprise the Ethereal too much, as this wasn't too rare in the Multiverse.

What would slightly surprise it would be her sudden movement and sprint out of her safe spot, following up with multiple shots fired toward the alien overlord's colleague. They appeared to be typical energy based projectiles from what seemed to be a strange tool she was wielding. In any case, one of the Etehreal's hands emerged from its cloak and rapidly intervened to 'catch' the projectiles. A common practice among Ethereals, to swiftly react to bullets and apply the Psi-Reflect ability. In this case, the alien's frail and grey hand would have a small portal form on its palm, serving as obstacle between the projectiles and the Quincy on the Ethereal's left. They seemed to all be sucked in, thanks to their clear cut precision, and vanished for a brief moment. They would only reappear as the portal formed before the Ethereal and shot the volley of bullets in one precise shot Cyano's gun. All the projectiles were at 33% of their power, but there were 5 all shot simultaneously. The remaining energy was absorbed by the Ethereal.

"Perhaps conducting restraint on any form of aggressiveness would lead to higher life expectancy, whether it is you Basterbine or the Unnamed One. Precaution does not equate to elimination in such a world."

The strange figure would suddenly commence levitating toward the blue haired female without any form of aggressiveness. It wasn't that it was searching for a peaceful resolution, but it was quite aware that anything could happen with what they encountered in the Multiverse. This very fact was the reason why the Dark Outliners existed in the first place. It would stop at about thirty meters of distance from Cyano as it captured a new presence in this supposedly empty city. The readings weren't wrong when they indicated that there was somewhat an infestation of distinct entities in the area.

Jetstream Sam's presence wouldn't be unnoticed, but it felt somewhat too close to typical humans to ring any bells for the Ethereal. Hence why it would maintain it focus on the stranger. The technology she wielded intrigued it somewhat, even if it had not see what it actually did, it could tell she'd have something interesting to display. Especially if she came over here on her own.

"What purpose have you in such an empty world? A possible, lone interloper or maybe a genuine threat to our cause?"
@thewizardguy Funny enough I was considering that on Beserkers at first but hey! So many options when an outstanding discovery is made. And controlling one individually should be possible, considering they're rather simple creatures, but the hive? Likely not.

@Absolis It all depends if the cloth is immune to said energy spheres fusing with it rather than inflicting damage. The attacks don't explode but turn anything they combine with into bombs. But as I read the cloth's description it seems to be able to resist that too.

Edit: I don't think they've tried to kill her as much as warn her. It's pretty much no man's land in the multiverse these days, can't trust anyone.
@Lmpkio Accelerator. Thank God he isn't here. I'd be petty annoyed.
@Gummi Bunnies Lucky devil! I was exceptionally happy when I got mine removed.
@thewizardguy I guess massive supervision it is. If he's immune by simply being around it and not by its actual effects on him then it would be increasingly difficult to restrain him. Better keep Bambietta close then. That or some of the upcoming characters joining the group. In any case if he's at least reasonable there's no need to restrain him that much.

Though the aliens aren't in OOC. The best idea would be that they'd simply place a dormant Chryssalid larva (because they don't want to hinder him) in his brain or nervous system. Once active (when he gets out of line) it'll likely limit him for a short period of time and either he'll be immune to its effects quick enough and the Chryssalid dies or it pops out through rotting flesh (zombie stuff) and he eventually regenerates.
@thewizardguy A Chryssalid actually only requires a nervous system and will likely absorb nutrients. But you're right they wouldn't have a long term utility.

They could also just imbue him with Bambietta's Reishi and have his entire body disintegrate if he turns on them. Like everything in his body turns into a bomb. No need to mind control him, because that seems impossible. Especially if he's willing to deal.

@Absolis A field day? More like an insane Friday Night. They'd likely recruit Cyano if she proves to be more than just a unique anomaly. But would she even want to follow this bizarre team? Right now Ethereal and Bambietta aren't hostile to her as their goal isn't to take over worlds and insert their dominance.

He could destroy said metal gear with a charged punch. But in the end, yeah Raiden beat him. Though the fact remains that Armstrong was well beyond any other cyborg. The joke-machines were probably the best choice. Except maybe Monsoon's, that one was just cool as fuck.
@Absolis He did seem stronger than Raiden who had the strongest Cyborg Suit in the world at the time. Like, a lot stronger, until game mechanics.

@thewizardguy Although what they'll find can be completely up to you, I was thinking of implementing a fail safe on him because let's face it, he's one of the biggest threats in the entire Multiverse. Integrate Chryssalid larva to fuse with his DNA or something like that. I'll let you add what you want on your character, but their goal is clear, they want his power to be on their side.
@Absolis I'd prefer Nanomachines over conspicuous cyborg parts. You look normal and can probably live normally too while being arguably stronger than said cyborgs. o;

I think Agent is posting right now so hang tight ;D

Edit: As for Apocalypse, well erm he's decommissioned for one day so by that time he'll probably be touched everywhere by Ethereals and Sectoids. We could expand on that later maybe?

The Ethereal's elaborate plan to neutralize the massive threat was a success. Perhaps too much of a success. It could not detect any brain activity from the almost headless Apocalypse, a sign that could indicate death. It would have been a waste of time if it would have had killed the beast when the goal was to keep him alive and eventually see what he could offer them. Luck would have it that, indeed his motor functions required a brain, but the healing factor didn't perish after such a strike. The alien overlord could easily notice this fact as it had quite an experience with strange, spliced creatures in the thousands of years it lived.

By then Bambietta had returned, insuring at least a backup plan if Apocalypse were to rise again this instant. No such thing would happen, of course, as the abomination entered a state of comatose to evolve even further. Not that it would matter too much, quite the contrary, once they'd discover that fact they'd likely make great use of it. With a simple release of psionic energy, a portal opened in the sky, revealing a relatively small, blue ship. It fired a flash of light right at the motionless body of Apocalypse, warping the mindless body into the Overseer class UFO for future analysis. He'd of course be put in a Stasis Tank as they would proceed into researching his rather unusual body. The moment the beast was secured in the ship, it flew back into the portal, leaving no trace of its existence behind.

"We have succeeded in securing the Level 5. What a magnificent specimen, beyond what we have encountered in these realms. Will it be the next milestone in The Envisioning One's quest? Only time will tell."

The Ethereal remained motionless as it finally gave attention to the strange presence that was stalking it for a short period of time before the behemoth was finally put down. The levitating figure of the alien turned to face the direction of the single audience of this show, other than Bambietta. It didn't do anything, nor did it have the intention to. It had no data on this individual nor did it find anything distinguishable about this apparent blue haired human. Of course, the fact that she was here still made her somewhat of an anomaly and probably something much different than a human being. But these days the multiverse would be crawling with these things.

"Basterbine. Without any callousness, would you address this stranger? Would it also be possible to have a report on your interaction with the entities leaving the local area?"
