I hate people like that, "are we still friends"
Really? If you gotta ask that you've thought of one of two things. Either you insulted me so badly that it would make me not want to talk to you, or you're insecure and require attention for your existence to meaning anything.
The people I talk to on here are what I would call friendly people, my friends would consist of my racing buddies and the guy I've known since grade 3. Is it bad that I only call the people on here good acquaintances? No, because I enjoy your company but the relationship between us all is strictly limited to this forum. We have a good time, a chuckle, but I wouldn't be telling you my personal, financial or emotional problems.
Some people just don't understand what a friend is, and I bet we can blame Facebook for adding a counter to how many friends you own.
There's two sides to this, though. While you're right - the line of "friend" has been blurred by social media, I think some people just naturally have a looser definition of the term. I have lots of friends on the forums and off the forums that I don't have nearby in real life. I care about them and we're very personal. But I'm not the type to need that physical connection to somebody to feel a connection to them. I'm not going to get all weird or anything, but I consider my friendships a lot like the law. Rather than being innocent until proven guilty, you're a friend until proven
asshole. XD But I digress...
So... I guess this means we're not friends...? :'(
