Bio

Role Play Preferences:[/b] Pretty much everything except playing other characters and most slice of life plots. Elastic on most shit.

Fandoms: Silent hill, Homestuck, Bioshock(1-2) and pretty much all of HP lovecraft's stuff.

Personality: Ambiguously ?????????????????.

Favorite Homestuck characters: In order: Eridan, Karkat, gamzee, John.

Hate kanaya and Jade.

My Homestuck class: Bard of Void

Likes: Scented Candles, Writing, RP'ing-in almost any form really. Even if I haven't tried it before- Pixel Art, Making things period, Dressing up in my mad mass. Talking to folks. <3 that understand what I say all the time without me having to tame my tongue.

Dislike: Political talk-light prods for opinions are fine though if private- Being tied down. Talking about myself too much. Playing party therapist, Edgy shit.

Pretty approachable, most of the time I'm all fine with, motherfucking. dancing down a door way to someone else grounds to chill. I tend to either be chilling or drilling the oil out of the works so random absence or silences are a normal.

Gin inspected Jayni up and down with his twin pair of vortexes at her reply, the two of them lacked any light and the intensity of his depressingly dark sockets only indication of actually changing vision was the indication of his chin moving up and down as his observers tried to suck in the color around them with their stark contrasting void "You think the king will harm you for not reporting this incident...assuming he dosen't chop your head off for vomiting toxic goo over the floor when we get there" The grumpy old man had assumed a much more entertaining tone that almost hit normality if he had actually shrugged off the standard attitude so far.

He turned to Pheonix as he started to mutter his thought process in his inquisition before slowly raising his hand to his own chin in thought at the revelation that the secret mage may not be as secret as everyone thought, his own eyes flashing tiny pools of white as he looked up to his own thoughts too " True, a lot of magic users don't really gain a lot by taking that stone" The shutters for his pits open up again as he stared directly at Jayni "This individual clearly has some sort of agenda...if that is the case, he may be banking on us to go to the king...and do we want the king or anyone knowing what we know. Right now we have an advantage others don't" his voiced had lifted a little as he started to look between the two, the iron muscles in his unchanging pose melting away into relaxation as he did.

"Before you think about sharing this with anyone, you should share it with us. This young man is clearly invested in your life and I have already been clear about my loyalty to the current way of things" he continued before slowing down a bit and nodding at Jayni "Yes. Food would preferable. We may not have the chance to eat again if we do decide to go after this stone, for whatever reason" his harsh tone returned to him, twisting a croaking, mild vocal massage into a swift verbal slap as it did. The monk seemed to be unphased by the prospects of death, his face only compressed harder into a more aggressive thrown at the obvious recalls of death threats and potential mad mages, the true points of bother creep in his voice and face at the idea of wither the quest was worth the effort to begin with.

Gin lumbered over to the girl before him, walking past her and then peering into the back of her neck as he stood a foot away from her breathing a bit on her before taking another step or two more behind as he followed the necromancers march to civilization "I'm Gin. By the way..." he was silent for a moment more, letting the name settle like clay "Of the Boiling Cup"
I'm really out of it but you guys have waited long enough. I'm sort of dizzy right now so I might of let a few mistakes slip by but here are some examples of big powers that almost everyone would of seen, heard of or felt in some way if they aren't isolated factions such hiding tribes or mage schools.

You can ignore these but I hope these help your brain balls roll a bit around. There will be more factions but only in the actual RP. I want this to be the last OOC update since everyone already got a lot to keep in already.

By the way. Guys. Don't forget to converse a little with each other too, some of you have put forward some cools concepts to me and it might help spice things up if you talk about how your classes will interact with each other and such before you finalize anything.

Some Examples of Green Land Factions:

----------------------------------------------------------

BarkRoads:

Time Created: 75 years ago.

Current Government: Plutocracy.

Main City: Litter Wood

Background: War used to be a major issues in the main lands and while this is still true today the biggest war brokers are outside forces or uninitiated factions that pop out of the hills. Tensions are ever high about individual factions claims and image, both tied into their territory control, many cases being border to border or even fighting over two different claims. This made scouting a nightmare, any scouts under any flag would be of suspect. When compound with diplomacy and changing events, a scout welcomed yesterday could be shot dead to send a message or even killed by a disgruntled populaces unofficially the next.

The first decision was for many kingdom to hire outsiders, both of big and small factions. This soon met the problem of people smuggling spies as "scouts for hire" in different uniforms, including terrorist and insurgents that would purposely feed false information about lands or dangers. Those that didn't directly betray the kingdoms realized they could run off to an Inn on advance pay then come back with a made up map to swindle kingdoms. Scouting, already a long and dangerous process for workers had become more dangers and longer for both the employees and employer.

Bark Road was founded on this issue. A small league of scouts, explorers, mercenaries and travelling merchants bargained for protected land and open routes if it acted as a scouting force for all nations that guaranteed it independence. Being already made up of the few reputable workers and savvy merchants, they act as a buffer for the kingdoms while also working for them. Bark Road got its name for its purely fast and easy, DIY wooden structures leading them to have many shoddy land bases, camps, stops and even towns around main land.

Bark Road has little of its own citizens, few are rarely native Bark Roaders. It, unlike most kingdoms will brand you an honorary citizen of Bark Road on request. Allowing you passage and rest in its areas, but most importantly the ability to shop and sell there as you please. Bark Road has the "biggest population" which consist 75% of people who wandered thru once and never returned. They regularly hire anyone and everyone to do jobs for them, being major exporters and importers of merc work.

To vote in Bark Roads you must become have citizen ship and also own a house along with work in their main town. In terms of culture and diversity, they accept all people of all ideas as long as their neutral grounds are respected.

Enemies: Typically the Bark Roads has many enemies in smaller cities or tribal forces due to their tendency to set up camp where they like. They are nigh untouchable due to the support of most kingdoms however.

Orthodoxy of Us

Time Created: 590 years ago

Current Government: Elitist Socialist.

Main City: Rigaton.

Background:

The Orthodoxy was created by several tribes joining together in rebellion against the initial expansion of Berane Kingdom mid south. The tribes while retaining vague identified in secret had, before their forceful recruitment into the arms of their current king lost all real cultural relevance outside of old people romanticizing long lost stories and muddy religions. Successfully leaving as Berane had its limbs eaten by its own inhabitants, retreating back into their original home land the rebellion forces split into those who wanted to return to their roots and those who still had the trauma of their slavery pushed into their minds.

The new blood that would soon to become the Orthodoxy of us had never experienced nor actively even be exposed to a concept of self rule, especially on an individual level and for the most part this concept of individualism is dead. Years of programming by the Berane on the fracturing of individual identity in the Main Lands being the core of all regression had worn off, causing the second class citizens to merely seek a new master but after a short period of 2 kings in the spans of 70 years whom both died by discarding their own subjects wishes the Orthodoxy declared that if the concept of the many being a stone of power it must also be an anchor for force.

The first constitution of Us was made, electing a series of cultural elite who had obtain knowledge, power, experience, respect and bravery into a upper class called the Gallery of Obligation. Here, the concept of Nobleese oblige would be given the herculean task of making sure that the peoples living standards would stay at a certain defined point. While not originally socialist in nature, the doomed fate of countries to enter economic and unforeseen circumstances forced the people in power to appease their followers with socialist practices even if they currently are not able to afford it. Anyone can rise up to enter gallery if they have a proper background by nomination or vote which applies to all citizens.

The Orthodoxy have a basic welfare system that anyone in the lower cities receive. People in more stable and moderate communities bear higher taxes with the rich(whom definition changes every couple of years) being taxed at a 15% higher rate. While tax is geographic it is flat in that area, applying to all no matter their circumstance due to the lack of a bureaucratic system or supplies to keep one running to deal with individual judgement. It is common for outsiders to move to Rigaton for the purpose of taking as much welfare as possible as also it is normal for middle class to simply stay in the poor towns in order to avoid taxes, leading to a ministry of relocation that is rumored to simply kick people out of the town entirely.

It's store are strongly collectivized and as a community lack any real market, the locals and the Orthodoxy routinely implement new reforms and ideas in order to grasp travelling merchants along with free citizen ship for foreign shop keepers, a tax relent and a discount on good from any national traders but so far despite being ten years in have gathered very few store owners. Merchant who do stay are rarely competitive, becoming either totally dominant or high cost for their demand which has a history of being nationalized by vote or violently ransacked. Goods for sale are strongly regulated, with a ban on drinking, smoking, sexual items and "excess"(jewels/ fancy clothes, perfumes) denied to the poor on the concept that the poor need to not lose their few coins to temptations by "greedy" merchants.

Culturally the concept of individual will is not strongly respected and almost nothing gets heard by anyone without a presentation of populism to some extent. The people don't believe directly in socialism itself but an idea of people regulating people, creating a strong sense of average folks shaming and trying to steer others to retreat from temptation and desires for the state as a whole. Most folks however simply abuse the system for free stuff. The collectivist store owners treat their stores as their own paradise, changing fixed prices constantly and typically end up being supply beacons for savvy criminals that get free or discounted "requisition" without any personal lose. Nepotism is rampant in a lingering job market.

Enemies: Berane has a lot of enemies in the lower tribes due to their forceful recruitment of them and even enslavement in order to maintain cheap labor to sustain the programs in place.

They have decent relations with most kingdoms but command little respect for their economy and martial power. They do, however had a long standing strained relationship with both shattered islands and the Bark Roads for their lack of respect towards business.

They are loathed by the Berane who see their government as a pale and soft hearted imitation of their homogeneous empire.

The classes themselves see each other as a liability, those who support the taxes loath the lower for their angering of mercantile forces and those that don't feel trapped with no true chance at expansion or prospering outside strict regulation. Middle classes either try to leave in secret or play the system in order to qualify as a part of the lower towns. Government stores while having fixed rate give way to personal favoritism to employee shop keepers who play their important position to their benefit.

Kingdom of Barene

Time Created: Over 1000 years ago. Exact point not known.

Government: Militaristic Oligarchy.

Main City: Station One

Background:

No one actually knows when Barene first started as its kingdom predates the invention of paper and its stone tablets being too damage to decode or lacking basic principles such as time to actually help determine the era but it is known that Barene had moved all across various lands with multiple references reaching from the vast North to the dips of the Eastern Woes. They even, once upon a time ruled over the Builders in their more primitive phases.

Barene society is one of seeing what you want and taking it, they have very little concept of sticking to what they got and they always want more. Following this attitude Barene has entered into stages of Empire 4 times in its creation and in one case manage to have a dominant hold over almost every know land today besides a few parts in the green lands forest and the Swamps in the Road of Ruin. Almost every culture has been influenced either directly by rule or indirectly by opposing that rule and small stamps of its lies in history. Everyone is forced to conscript with no exceptions, even the sick and the old are seen as resources and if an event comes that someone is so crippled they can't fall into some sector of military service they are declared "Soulless" and killed, a fate that only goes to those with extreme forms of autism or in the rare case of death dumb and blind. Most injured and disabled do find a place of service.

In societal terms everyone falls into some sort of staff on a macro and omnipresent army. You're primary usefulness or training leads you to either be infantry, logistic, specialist, tactical and reserve with reserve being the jobs that disabled, old people and sick pick up. Everyone has a place and every sector is seen as important, people rarely squabble over being able to do others job because the concept of cast is clearly understand to divide labor so being able to won't be an issue. In some cases, people can appeal to change sectors. Ceremonies, parades, festivals and holidays are all treated with strong organization and discipline, resembling hell marches and memorial days primarily.

The Kingdom of Barene are a homogeneous society who believe in the concepts of individual potential and interest but doing so in shared work. While Barene may sound disciplined outside of presenting papers, meetings, festivals and work the streets are crowded and the folks are violent abrasive and loud. It is an understood custom for everyone to be constantly yelling and pushing, in some cases fist fighting in the street in an understood manner between citizen and guards. The lands littered with great monuments and failed projects that have been declared "on hold" even though 50 years have passed for many of them.

During the last expansion Barene absorbed many locals from many tribes, those that remained loyal fought to the end before retreating back into Barene. The loss of territory also drove Barenes who had been born and live outside of the original territory back with them in order to not face enslavement or death as a result the home lands are now insanely crowded with streets always bustling with footsteps both at night and day. The lack of space and simply not having enough jobs as heightened the already aggressive nature of the people. Leading to a race of natives and new age recruits to constantly look for power via gaming the ranking system to admiralty to even forming insurgent groups. Housing is a major issue, leading to lots of fields of make shift tents and trashy hovels along with all food being rationed.

Everything is treated as a military operation. Gangs have banners, flags and uniforms and in some cases walk about in plain site as new commanders start popping up offering to go into empire hood again in order to give the people space and employment again while the current admiralty shy away. Realizing that Barene has become technologically backwards in medicine, architecture and science outside of smithing and agriculture. Trade with the outside world is nearly outknown due to their refusal to be apart of the Bark Roads system with ransacking merchants and capturing scouts. The current board are almost entirely focused on trying to amend their relationship and get free movement again via diplomacy.

Enemies: Barene has poor relations with almost everyone due to its lack of respect of boundaries. Their patrolling forces are consistently attacked every couple of weeks by the their new neighbor: The Orthodoxy of Us.

Sorry about that last update taking a while, guys. I haven't been sleeping well at all for the last few days which has led to me sort of having a hard time writing anything coherently in depth. I had written some stuff but it needs to be bit reworked.

For now every things going to be a little slow so don't feel there is a rush any sheets for those of you that got papers cooking in the old brain bowl.
Right, sorry. I got a lot going on right now. I haven't even posted in my IC. I'll post either tonight or tomorrow.
Wait, wait.

Stop right there.

You read Atlas Shrugged too. Are you a fan of Rand's stuff or is that just a book in a pile of philosophy authors?

Welcome to the blood pits by the way, feel free to order new rags for the stains any time. I've seen a couple of folks that have been doing this for a while too, me among them although I'm new to this site itself still. If you want to mingle, PM me sometime and you can engross me in more detail about these interest you have. I'm not particularity knowledgeable around here but it can't hurt to have another scribble in the brain ball.
I'll hopefully get started on a character sheet soon. If not today then tomorrow for sure.

Great. Once you're finished. PM it to me. That goes for everyone. I'll proof read it for you the best I can and we can talk about anything you're unsure or swap ideas.
I want to keep this moving.

So:

Character Sheet

-------------------------------------------------------

Name:
--------

Age:
-------------

Class:
--------------------------------------------------

Faction:

-------------------------------------------------------

Background:

------------------------------------------

Personality:

---------------------------------------------------

Tips:

Class and personality: Remember that each class has to do with each characters psychological flaws and drives. You don't have to play these flaws cut and dry but your character development with their own powers should determine if they become more unhealthy and unwell or happily adjusted with their self worth and identity.

Class and love: Can two opposing classes, even elements fall in love? Yes. They can. Classes are strong psychological parts of a character but people are made up of many things, life experiences, biology, ideas, philosophies and even impulse.

An enemy of renew could fall in love with a manifest of renew for her ideas and her dedication hobbies, maybe even because he see her being a positive force of renew and is enchanted by it. The two can be in love but they'd be a bad couple...even if they were both healthy and both sincere, the enemy would still at his core slowly widdle down her personality ether by discarding her ways of expression or seeing her quirks as unhealthy outbursts.

For factions:

Desperation Meet Dignity: Most people, even if proud and unified won't normally suffer with those they don't know in mind or for abstract ideas. Your faction can preach equality but if it causes discomfort you can expect a good 20% to bypass it and 30% to just be apathetic. Same with diversity, rationing, aggression and so on. If being aggressive causes discomfort for their family or them, you can expect people to be apathetic or even kind in practice.

It's hard to get everyone on board, especially as factions get bigger.

Forward, not backward: People perceives things as a story, because we are evolved to do so. If you make people go backwards it forces them to examine each error individually because they don't take narrative for granted (try this when you proof read) even smart people may not remember the number of starving kids in Africa even if they care.

The human brain isn't made to attach emotion to abstract mathematical concepts. A narrative, especially the more like a story it plays the more it unifies. Imagine, if you will. Nazis. Excuse the political aspect but.

When germany after ww1 were split up, lacking food, no currency to speak off and denied to build a proper defensive army. So, think about how they got so angry. They're all sitting around a house, eating bread and do the only thing to do...share stories. "My wife has lost ten stone. She keeps giving her food to the kids" the next guy "yeah. At least your kids are fed, he keeps saying 'but we got money papa'" then the next guy "Yeah. Money. I was saving up for a dream car...seven years...all that over time and now my kids play with my savings for bunkers"

Stories. Do you think some of them would of even been as mad if one turn to the other and went "Brother. The german currency dropped by 30%" as the war goes on, this ideal of narrative gets played stronger by many. It's one of the corner stones of appealing to people and propaganda. The opposite in a narrative is when you are the bad guy. This is also why history is a field or study and not natural onto humans.

Partnership by Proximity: People generally don't care about others they don't see or aren't important to their immediate life style. The major exception is when things get political and sense of solidarity is created or fracturing takes place. Because distant people suddenly have relevance to their lifes, on the day to day average folks don't care about what the people in Yorkshire are doing or going thru if they live in London.

Q: Do I HAVE to follow theses?

A: No. These are just tips, you are free to create how you feel. But if you want try and get a little fantasy political with your faction and get stuck, these are here to help you think about ways forces may act. You can even think about what would make people act against these tips and build off that.

It's ok to add a little insanity. I did that with the Eastern Woes. It depends on what you're going for.

Q: I don't want to start a sheet without seeing some more detailed main land factions. Are you going to make some?

A: Yes. I am. Those will be more in depth than the vague world descriptions because they're local. I'll put that up soon.

Q: I want to add colors to my sheet. Can I?

A: No. Colors disgust me. You disgust me. Never return.

.....Q

Wait.

...............................Q

Come back.

.............................................................................................Q

He ain't coming back.

I've learned my lessons, you are all free to format and style your sheets as you like.
Great. We got enough people on board to go along with this. I'll put up the RP and talk to my co-gm about this all within the next few days between my RL job applications stuff.
“The result of spirits and energy.”

Gin lifted himself from the floor, looming his shadow over the gory scene before and consequentially over the woman that now caressed her former companion. The abysmal eyes of his flashes cloaks of white as he looked to the sides, into the hairs of the forest around him, soaking in something invisible as he took a deep breath "Yes. I can definitely feel anger here but no energy should be making the dead..." he ponder out loudly and in a tone that dripped with a precarious disappointment but at what and whom was unsure due to his wandering eyes and naturally grim pose "Not dead..." he forced out the last bit in a belch of bile towards the thought from his heart,

He kept his gaze off into the distance until the young mans voice knocked him out of his thoughts, he started of slurring slightly in a slow manner with his eyes now empty at Jayni in her comfort "Yes. I'm sure your grieving can wait until we found out what eerie power created this calamity" he said it, without any distinction to what the calamity was; be it the stone, her injury or the prospect of materializing dead nor did he say it with strength. Gin angry state had been washed away, his face was trying to wrinkle his forehead but his eyebrows had been filled with helium into a bewildered look. His voice, croaking wavering bubbles of meekness despite his straight forwardness.

Gin peered at Pheonix as the creature scurried to comfort the necromancer, nodding a little at her in a quick sprint of decisive defense or at least by the looks of his returning anger some rebound of confidence in manner as he let the air return to his words "Do not worry. It is not filthy. It has a sense of hygiene not seen in animals that visit the slums" he commented before peeking back up at max and then down at her in a swift manner as if to gauge their reaction at his attempt of kindness before slowly settling on his stoic stance again.

Gin simply stood aside Phoenix as the trio of men ran up to them, looking from his shoulder with a weary set of eyes on their hands more so than their mouths, following them with his head as they scattered into the forest before focusing once more on Phoenix "I am your guide, young one" Gin put it forward with authority as he peered dead set into his eyes, his own somehow sinking deeper into themselves in the vortex of back in his already darkened glare "Listen to me. You lose nothing from this arrangement. People here glide into the homes of strangers they know nothing off and suckle from the tits of that rock. Draining the energy of this land. We cater to unknown mages who know not of struggle while the slums funnels the sewage of our world and others" he raises both of his hands as if to grasp something, an invisible neck or maybe even reflexively holding his own heart in a mental image.

One of his bony fingers point up at him like a dagger as he continues his seething rant before siding his eyes to the woman "but" he interrupts himself with his words losing speed and steam "Perhaps we should cater to this woman. She has been hit with unknown magics, her wounds are healed but she may have unseen side effects" he spoke concern without sounding concerned, it was hard to tell if it was meant to be mocking or if he simply lacked the ability to sound nice.

^that's amusing

Your posts are fine. They're moving along well and proactive. Seriously, Xikari. Don't sweat it, you're doing fine.

Have fun, this isn't a test. We're not going to hold a secret society of RP'ers meeting if you don't post your magmunm opus and have a league of angry scribes come to challenge you to mortal combat with 1000 page hard back books as the weapon of choice.

EDIT: Oops. I thought you said "worst post is up" I was like "what" I guess that shows how out of it I've been for the day or two. Leave it here anyway. It will remind me to reread peoples posts.
