Sato Hashimoto // Corporate War Zone, F1
Everything was going according to keika-- err, plan. Except it sorta wasn't. The magic Sato was using made quick work of his targets, which was great, except more soldiers kept flooding into the room. Which meant that they weren't getting anywhere. Additionally, the guns the shadows had seemed like they acted like actual guns. As in, a direct hit might be a little too much for Kotori to heal. Hopefully that wasn't the case, but he wasn't about to try to find out.

As Sato crouched behind boxes, with bullets ripping holes in them, he waited impatiently. Sure, he threw out a Garula once in a while, but without any kind of area of affect, his attacks hardly made a dent in the horde of shadows. His confidence was fading quickly, but it was as thoughts of retreat entered his mind that they heard Ayano's voice. "Guys you need to stop fighting now! Get out of there now before all of you are dead! The exit is just up ahead."

So the same, but the opposite of what Sato was thinking about. All they'd have to was make a big enough cut in their forces so that they could rush through to the exit. Sato looked over to the others, nodding as if telling them that he's ready to go whenever they were. If they had any chance of getting over to the exit they'd all have to concentrate their fire at once. A good Garula or two mixed with everyone else's attacks had to be enough to cleave a passage.
hello naughty child are you here for some

As they entered a clearing, the atmosphere closed in. The air felt tighter, even if nothing seemed particularly different. Soldiers lingered around, though they didn't attack the party, just like the ones that had been fighting and getting shot all around them a minute ago. Sato considered this, noting their passiveness.

The thought was interrupted by a burst of activity, as suddenly more shadows entered the clearing, mowing down the "good" shadows before pointing their weapons at the group of persona-users. It took only a single bullet whizzing past them for Sato to bolt behind some boxes. It was foolish to think that this would be an easy ride with safe shadows. Rui gave his orders, and Sato nodded. With his and Kotori's magic combined, this would be an easy fight. Even if he got wounded, Kotori was there to heal him. Which begged the question, if Kotori got hurt, could she heal herself...?

Ignoring that thought (she probably could, right?), Sato summoned his persona, a gust of wind already generating. He peered over the crates to find a target, and with the swing of his arm, Chronos launched a powerful blast of wind at one of the soldiers, tossing it back with the force. He glanced over at Kotori to see her doing the same, with her own persona summoning a bolt of lightning to hit a soldier. The flash left his eyes stinging a bit, and as he was distracted, a bullet grazed a strand of his hair. The sound and feeling of the bullet caused Sato to send himself to the ground. Too close.

Sato prepared the same attack, ready to take out another soldier. He looked over to Rui before doing so, to see how they were doing.
i would say calling someone scum and talking about being a punching bag in a past life sounds like personal attacks which I'm pretty sure is breaking site rules.

As I said I am not defending the roleplay and I agree that it was very inappropriate, but regardless it was wrong for the people to react in such a hostile manner. After all this site isn't meant to be a safe space and we must never treat it as such. This is a community and therefor civility is what makes a community prosper

I agree on some points, but the topic itself arguably removed the civilty status of that thread. Everyone responding in such a volatile way to such an inappropriate breach is expected (at least, imo), but I also agree that how it was handled was very far from optimal. Some took it too far, yes definitely, but it was still justifiable anger.

Though, I don't think we're going to get anywhere with this argument, considering how stubborn I am and how the thread was ultimately locked for both "sides". Also, as others have said, there's a high chance it was just a dedicated troll. Part of me believes he wasn't, but to err on the side of caution, maybe it'd be best to stop conversation about it. Don't feed the possible trolls and all that.

Agree to disagree?
Acting like that is going to get you in trouble one day. People have been killed and have had their lives ruined over emotional break downs. I say that it is better to keep your feelings under control and try to find a civil way of handling things you don't like because I would personally like to report several people on that thread for harassment

You and Chrononaut make a good point, but I'm not acting like harassment is nothing. If anything, it's the opposite. Branding angry backlash towards a terrible handled gameified version of a tragic historic as harassment, when it has not gone beyond a now locked thread (which, again, I'm assuming there have been no malicious PM's or the sort), is arguably discrediting actual harassment. Bullying, abuse, and so forth are very real issues and present very big problems, but this sort of one-off instance of anger towards someone hardly deserves to be considered in the ranks of those kinds of harassment. Judging by how they wrote their final posts on the thread, the OP seemed calm and collected, stubborn that they were in the right but at least sorta understanding. Nothing about that says "I'm horribly affected by the backlash I've recieved", and in fact, you seem to be defending someone who doesn't need it. Additionally, you can't say that they didn't expect there to be at least some negative reaction. Hell, they even said they did themselves. In conclusion, this is (imo) clearly not a risk-inducing event for the OP, assuming they don't have any mental afflictions that could serve as a catalyst for the kind of break-down you mentioned.

Additionally, let's define harassment in this context. According to Canadian Human Rights Commission:

Harassment occurs when someone:

- makes unwelcome remarks or jokes about your race, religion, sex, age, disability or any other of the 11 grounds of discrimination.
- threatens or intimidates you.
- makes unwelcome physical contact with you, such as touching, patting, pinching or punching, which can also be considered assault.

Obviously there was no physical contact, and looking through the thread there were no mentions of any personal characteristics (sex, age, race, etc.), which rules out personal discrimination. The only one that could really apply is the second one, which also matches with the first definition you get when you google the word. Skimming through the thread, I've seen neither threats nor intimidation. A lot of insults and such (which I don't condone, but I understand), but no threats. No "I'm going to find you and kill you" kind of things. No "I'm going to make your life here hell until you leave the site" (if I missed any, please show me). Just a lot of insults and name-calling. By definition, I believe, it was not harassment. I think a better word would be condemnation.

To close... While I hate to bring personal morals like this into it, I think it's ridiculous you would consider reporting those who responded to the OP rather than the OP itself.
<Snipped quote by Sen>
Bullshit, it was harassment and you could have pm'd one of the admins and I don't give a shit what your morals are you harassed him.

... "You", as in me? I never even posted on that thread? Weird way to personalize it. EDIT: Not to instigate an argument, but let's say, for example, I punched someone in the face, would it be harrassment if everyone verbally lashed out at me because hurting others like that is "immoral"? Facing negative reactions for a percieved negative action is how it works. Should everyone have calmly discussed it? Probably, but people don't generally work like that, you being a perfect example. You saw something you disliked and you responded with negative emotion. As I said though, I draw the line when the response gets more personal (as in, malicious PM's or attacking in non-related threads, etc.).

Anyways, here's a pet peeve: when people make a fandom RP but completely misconstrue the lore of said fandom. Like, it's one thing if you're making an AU or something, but if you're trying to adhere to the actual canon and you just get it wrong... yikes.
I'm not agreeing with the concept of the rp, but the responses were definitely harassment if you go by several people's standards

Assuming we're talking about the same thing, that was hardly harrassment. Posting an extremely controversial, glorifying, and immoral idea such as that, they got what they deserved. The only way I'd consider it "harrassement" would be if they got malicious PMs, which none of us have any way of knowing if they did or not.

Ignoring ethics, it was also against the rules. So.

probably shouldn't continue conversation on the topic but hey it's vague

The tower... was not what Sato had expected. And not in a good way, either. Looking to the side, he was walking beside Kotori, comforting if only because she was as experienced as he was when it came to dungeons. In front of him walked Alexai, who hopefully had the brain to match the muscle, and Rui, their familiar leader. To Sato, this group was pretty much optimal as far as party composition was concerned.

What wasn't optimal was, of course, the dungeon itself. After parting with the other half of the team (of which was lead by Kazuki and Megumi), they walked up to doors of the skyscraper. Fully expecting something hollow, desolate, and maybe even confined, Sato was shocked to see a wide-open battlefield, stretching seemingly infinitely. No walls or roof to be seen. Why this was disorientating was obvious. It was like they had walked into a whole different world, which, thinking about it, Sato decided wasn't actually too abnormal considering they were in the mirror world.

It would've been arguably better than what he had expected, if the battlefield wasn't in use. Shots were being fired, and silhouettes rushed on the field above the trenches, only to be halted by the bullets of machine guns. It looked like a scene straight out of a history textbook, except that office supplies were littered about, contrasting with the out-dated military equipment. None of the shadows seemed to be targeting them, and as they walked through the trenches, it appeared there weren't any tricks being played.

As the team maneuvered their way in the trenches, Sato's mind wandered to the dungeon itself. As was established, the dungeons had something to do with the victim, so what was with the skyscraper appearance, only to harbor some weird war dimension? The answer didn't come to Sato quickly, so he gave up and focused his attention on the situation at hand. He tried to glance at Rui, but the musculature of Alexai's back blocked his view. Sato would've just re-positioned himself like any normal person, but he felt an odd comfort being behind others. Call it cowardice or something else, Sato justified it by clutching the bow he held harder. Not like he was front line material any way.

All he could do was hope that whoever he was following didn't fall into a pit trap.
Dungeons will start in probably 2 days

i've been keeping busy all the time, tryna keep you offa my minnddd
I vote Rui, Alexai, Akane, and Kotori for the tower so we can do a gender-balanced beauty and the beast type thing
