When he was a trader he was never an honest one. Always tried to persuade the right people with his charming personality and his flirty tricks on men and woman alike.
But eventually his wife back in Amsterdam died of illness. Since then drink is his true love.
He ran out of luck and didn't earn as much coin as before as and "honest" trader, so he raised the black flag.
His small ship "the Ruby" with red sails has a crew made of beggars and thieves he found on the streets. Captain Jesper anand his crew aren't the most fearsome sight, but he is a great friend, as long as it benefits him.
