Whelp here it is, may as well throw it in now. Just let me know if anything needs changed. x3

Accepted by me. Jay will have to look it over, but I hardly think she'll have any issues with it.

Wait, are you guys actually still accepting or not?
If yes, would the GM beat me up with a stick if I were to steal the Gates of Babylon skill from Fate/Zero?

We're not still accepting, no. One person expressed his interest and said he'd stick around until January and then he'd post a character. He's allowed to loom and read all the posts and keep up to date until the moment he's going to post a character which will then be looked over to see if it's accepted or not.

However, as it is now, we're not accepting anyone else at this time, no. The one place were talking about has therefor been reserved.

Toko Ling

Sheathing his blade, Toko slid under a large, fallen branch before he jolted back to his feet and jumped over another by jumping onto a small tree trunk and launched himself over the obstacle before doing a roll across the ground and ascended to his feet yet again in a flowing motion. Finally out of the danger zone, he rested his hands against his kneecaps and breathed heavily, wiping the sweat from his forehead. "That's...one..." He took a deep breath and leaned against a tree. "That's one...tag." Only ninety nine left to worry about, right? Toko was usually a lot more composed than this. He never rushes into danger like this but alongside Seichi, it's like he throws out everything called caution through the window and just goes with the flow, Seichi being that flow. "He's going to be the end of me..." Looking back it was a miracle that none of the falling branches and the wake of devastation had triggered more than one trap. Though, then again, maybe they did but the effects were nullified by half the forest falling over. Still, he was alive and the mission wasn't a failure yet...was it? Nothing had stopped yet so it was still on. He just needed to find a damned piece of paper before things went sour, more so than they already had.

Okay, so he needed to take a moment and collect his thoughts. Everyone else was in the forest somewhere. Asuka was probably treading everything with intense care, Reiji and Seji might have been with her and if that was the case, perhaps she was leading them through it. All three of them were actually fit to be leaders, hopefully that didn't get in their way. Speaking of getting in the way, Seichi was a hard head, he was stubborn and he he was way too passionate for his own good, but that's something that Toko liked about him. Sure, it could get in the way but most of the time, it did the complete opposite. That tag that exploded could very well be him, hopefully no one would be too hard on him for it. Escaping Asuka's glare of death was a feat to aspire to, however. The other two probably wouldn't be as strict about it.

Continuing through the forest, this time with very careful steps, Toko attempted to find a paper piece but it didn't seem to work. He couldn't find anything. Needless to say, it was a blow to his self esteem. An aspiring ninja who couldn't even find a piece of paper, that sounded great on the resume. Despite his incredible skill in close quarters combat, he had been a laughing stock at the academy more than once. While Asuka and Seichi knew of his strengths and weaknesses, the other two weren't as close to him. It was more than probable that they had never seen him shine in what he's actually good at. This time, they'd see him fail again. How ironic, they probably thought that they were stuck with some lame weakling who couldn't even throw a shuriken to save his life. "I better continue..." There was no time to stand around and mope, if anything would make the others deem him as dead weight it was standing around.

Keeping down on the ground, Toko tried to look at every corner he could manage. She probably didn't hide anything in the trees, as it would have been to easy. Did she dig any of them down? Given the fact that they only had an hour to find everything, she wouldn't possibly have gone that far. Either way, Toko wasn't really getting anywhere with this. How long had it taken? Probably around fifteen minutes by now. Only fortify-five remained.

Seichi Hino & Toko Ling

Seichi didn't appear to waste a single second before jumping into this mission. His enthusiasm and ambition were indeed contagious, however. With a small smile crossing his lips, Toko couldn't help but laugh a little. "Always so eager..." Following his friend into the forest, Toko sped past countless trees in search of a paper tag. Traps awaited him everywhere, and finding one piece of paper in a vast sea of trees wasn't as easy as people made it out to be. Seichi was already gone somewhere, searching for his piece. "Okay..." Toko stopped, making sure that he had analysed his surroundings carefully. There were three explosive tags spread out around him. Seriously? Their sensei was willing to blow them up!? Well, that really put things in perspective. "I think sensei's a bit insane..."

Seichi's hair would gust behind him as the wind rushed in his face. He moved diligently from tree to tree scanning for paper bombs and/or the pieces of paper he was meant to look for. He came to stop as he spotted a single paper bomb laid on a nearby tree. "So she was serious.." Seichi whispered to himslef. "I should be more careful." He sat down on the thick branch he was posistioned on and started to think, while also calming himself down. "If I were to hide something in this forest where would I...? Usually a ninja is seen in the trees. Could there be some more obviously placed down there?" He asked himself." Seichi hung his head over the branch looking down at the dark shadowy lower level of the forest. "I could also waste my time looking down there..." The boy would shrug at the contradiction and leap down onto the ground.

With careful steps, Toko made sure not to trigger an explosive tag on his way to the tree in front of him. With a careful jump, the boy launched himself onto the tree trunk and leaped onto a branch where he would get a better view of the area. "Nothing here..." He frowned slightly, trying to make sure that he didn't miss anything. "If Sensei is as insane as I think she is, the paper we need to find is probably beneath the explosive tags..." With a heavy sigh, Toko jumped onto another set of branches before gracefully landing on the ground again. More traps, both tags and strings. "This one was close." He looked down at the string by his ankle. "Phew..I think Im a really bad ninja...I've almost walked into several traps now..." Still, he found nothing. Hopefully Seichi and the others had better luck than he did.

Tssss... Seichi would turn around to see a paper bomb start to burn from it end. "What?! But I didn-" He would jump out of its range quick enough as the explosion went off, its damage knocking over a few trees. Seichi would lay frozen on the ground breathing heavily. "She's trying to kill us" He'd say clenching the grass beneath him. His fearful expression would slowly turn into one of a psychotic smirk. "Hahahaha! You got me there!" He'd quickly roll into a standing posistion, wide eyed and squatting in a gymnast type posistion. "One paper bomb. HAHAHA!" He'd say tilting his neck until he heard a crack. "Like that'll stop me!" He would then sprint through the lower forrest in a much more reckless fashion, searching even more.

"Wha-..!" Before Toko got a chance to react, he heard a loud explosion which knocked a tree over. The shockwave nearly pushed him down to the ground, however it was big enough to push him forward and into the string. "Oh no..." Looking to his side, he saw how a small wave of shuriking went heading straight for him. With a backflip, he managed to get out of the line of attack, but that was highly unexpected. What the hell had caused that!? It was an explosive tag, wasn't it? Shit, who triggered it? Hopefully no one died from it, especially the one who had made it blow up in the first place. "Okay...I think it's over n-..." Again, before he had a chance to finish his sentence, the tree that fell had hit another with full force, making the creaking and cracking trunk yield under the pressure. "This is intense..." Clenching his teeth, Toko spun around and started running away from the falling disaster heading straight for him with heavy twigs falling onto the ground all around the boy. "Crap!" Looking up, he saw how a large, heavy branch was just about to hit him. There was no time to escape, no time to jump away. Lowering his hand to his sword, Toko quickly released it from the scabbard and swung the edge towards the falling branch. "Sharpen..." He spoke, making the blade glow with a faintly blue hum of chakra before the branch fell on both sides of him, sliced in two. "Okay...I think I'll just stand over there..." He continued to sprint, finally getting out of the death trap created by a forest of falling trees.

Toko Ling

Another test, huh? Well, otherwise this was going to be too easy. Toko needed to prepare either way. He needed his equipment, not to mention his proper attire for the job that was to come. "Thank you, Sensei." The boy offered, bowing humbly to their teacher as the students left the room. There were more questions, many more, but they would have to wait. None of the questions the students had posed so far were actually answered, but Fuyuko was probably keeping it from them deliberately. What was she planning? What was her deal? Everyone was given a moment to prepare before the next test, a few hours actually, and after that some of them could be going back to the academy. If there was a test, the risk of failing was always a factor and these tests didn't kid around. Speaking of which, if one of the students were late, the whole squad would fail? It made sense, actually. This test was supposed to simulate teamwork no doubt. If every person from the squad wasn't in place before the mission, one would have to heavily reevaluate both plans and timings.

"I'll see you soon, Seichi. Don't be late." Toko would place his hand on Seichi's shoulder for a moment before offering him a gentle smile. "Always together, right?" Always together, it was a sentence Toko was trying to convince himself of over and over again in hopes of bringing it to an absolute truth.

Heading out of the academy, the boy would head home, his eyes on the ground as he walked. "There are five of us. Is that going to be a strength, or a weakness?" Squads were always made up of three genin and one sensei, there was a good reason for that. This was highly unheard of and for good reason. A squad of five people meant that there was a lot more to keep track of. If done correctly, two extra people could turn the tide of battle greatly. Fuyuko would surely find good use of their skills in one way or another.

Though his thoughts claimed him, Toko would eventually reach his home, nearly bumping into the door. "Dad?", stepping into the small hall, Toko slipped out of his slippers and looked around. No response, but the sound of a swinging blade in the backyard told a tale loud enough to understand.

"Toko! How did everything go?" Not even turning to look at his son as Toko stepped onto the yard, Ken spoke to his son with his attention fully placed on each swing of his sword.

"It went well." Toko reached his hand out and grabbed hold of a suitcase on a table, pulling it down.

"Satisfied with your team?"

"Uhm...Yeah." At least he was in the same team as Seichi, right? Well, everyone else was an excellent combatant and good ninja as well so overall, yes, he was actually very content with the crowded group he had ended up in.

"Where are ya heading off to now?" The man would finally lift his head up.

"Another test. Can't be late." Hurrying out of the yard, Toko made his way into his room and slipped into his fingerless leather gloves. He would then grab a belt to throw around his waist, designed for his blade. Carefully opening the suitcase, he laid eyes on his sweetheart, lovingly taking the sword out of the case and secured it on his waist. The thing wasn't very large, but rather slim and light. Ken made sure it was of perfect size to his son during the sword's creation. "Alright, ready. I still have a few hours to go but...I'd rather not be late. I might as well go there now and scout the area...that way I'll have intel of the battlefield beforehand. Despite being incredibly early, Toko started towards the training ground, ready as he'd ever be for this upcoming test.

Many trees stretched out across the training fields. Trees and grass were the main star of the scenery, perfect. Toko had always loved trees, mostly because of their unending beauty. After analysing the area thoroughly, the boy gracefully made his way up to a tree branch where he sat down, now waiting for the others. This was going to be interesting.

It would appear how Fuyuko Sensei had also been at the training fields for a little while, focusing on her...poetry? Either way, it was time to start. "All right, you all managed to arrive on time! It would have been sad to see you all go so soon... however, you lovelies seem pretty serious about this. And that's good." Of course they were going to be serious. Who would have struggled to get this far only to end up taking this as a joke? "So, the test is gonna go like this. There are five pieces of paper hidden in the forest just to our left here. All you kids have to do is find those pieces of paper and put them together. Seems easy enough, right?" Oh that was new. They were going on a treasure hunt? Toko peered down from the tree where he had been sitting and listened intently to what Sensei was saying.

"However, you're only going to have an hour to find these pieces of paper, and put them together. It may seem like a long time to you lot, but time is everything in this test. Use it wisely. Oh yeah, and one more thing..." So that's where the criteria started getting into the picture. Good, this was nothing they couldn't handle together. "If you don't manage to beat the time limit, then all of your are sent back to the Academy. Got that?" Well, straight to the point, wasn't she? Good.

"Okay." Toko dropped down from the tree, gracefully landing weightlessly on his feet next to Seichi and Asuka. "Let us begin."

Would you be alright with a Chinese name? I'm not sure how to pronounce 美猴娘娘, or Měihóu Niángniang in Japanese.

I can pull out an explanation for that, like, decided to take up the name of a dead friend from far away, despite being from Konoha. The basic idea of the character is, "Experimental Subject rescued after the war, lost a lot of memory from trauma, but is still fairly upbeat as a character and doesn't want others to fall as victims." Could have met friend while being experimented on.

Her general motivation, "Well, no use crying over stuff I don't remember, let's do this!"

My character has a Chinese name. We've seen that it's possible in the Naruto universe for characters to be of Chinese origin. Toko, my character, has Chinese ancestry but he himself is Japanese. So that's fine.

If you want to post a character, you're welcome to post one and I will look over it. However two notes of warning.

The first is that the woman in your picture looks far older than a genin.
The second is that I am a bit of a bitch when it comes to the whole "being experimented on" background. You're welcome to write it out but I am very strict concerning those.

I'm pretty sure you guys are closed for applicable members (most of mine wouldn't fit as is, as they originate from other countries and such) but is it alright if I observe? I'm new to this community anyway and this would be a great opportunity to familiarize. :3

You can join, Kazure. But I swear, if you're going to be inactive I'm kicking you out. Sorry for being bitter but I am tired of it now.

Feel free to post a character as soon as you're able.

I have told Jay that if people do not post soon, that we should continue the story without them and without pause. Jay wants to wait until Friday, after that we're no longer waiting for people, we'll just keep continuing the story and people can jump in where they feel they fit in.

After Friday, we won't keep waiting for people.

Artifact, if you decide to make another character, we'll look it over and you'll be able to join immediately or after whatever changes would be necessary if it came down to that.

However, after that, we've decided leave it at what it is, no more new characters. If Art doesn't want to make a character, we'll leave it at what it is now.

Toko Ling

To be frankly honest, Toko had only been half way paying attention to what was happening around him. People were being called out to get put in teams and he would eventually be called out as well. Toko knew that if anything, he'd recognise his name being said aloud, so with his eyes plastered on his notebook, he sat drawing a picture with a reasonable amount of skill. Meanwhile, he could tell that his close friend Seichi was excited for this. The boy was essentially sitting at the edge of his seat. Seichi and Toko had been friends for a very long time. It wasn't a stretch to call them best friends and their personalities complimented each other quite nicely. One might even call it cute. Seichi was the passionate one, the loud and hardworking ninja who didn't let anything get in his way while Toko was the quiet one who no one could quite see through.

Toko would feel the nudge from Seichi and looked up for a moment to see how excited he really was. Those bright blue eyes were glistening and that bright smile was contagious. "I...hope we end up together, too..." Being in a team with Seichi was the only thing Toko wanted. It was ironic, really. The two of them were friends but it was quite obvious where the feelings laid for them both. Needless to say, the one person that could bring Toko out of whatever thought process occupying him was Seichi.

"…and those are all of the squads. Please remain seated until the other Jōnin arrive."

Turning his head towards the teacher, Toko blinked a few times and thought that he had missed something. Had his name been called out without him paying attention? No, Seichi, Asuka, Seji and a bunch of other students were still there. This was rather weird. "As for the remaining nine students who's names weren't called out… you have been advised to move to Class 23 as soon as possible."

Very odd indeed. Slipping the notebook into his shoulder bag, Toko got up to his feet and followed Seichi and the others into the next room, once again taking a seat next to his friend. To be completely honest, he'd never have expected the following events at all. "Hey there! The name's Fuyuko Wakahisa, proud Jōnin of the Hidden Leaf Village. Pleasure to meet you guys!" Wow, this woman had passion and energy beyond any other teacher Toko had laid eyes on before. "Anyways… you guys must be wondering why you're here, right? You see, our wonderful Hokage has assigned all nine of you to a special squad that will be under my supervision for the first year or so. Of course, we will be doing normal missions like the rest of the three man squads, but here, you'll also be doing something a little bit different…"

"A little different...? What's special about us...?" The thought would linger for a while as Toko looked around the classroom, seeing the group of people all talking amongst themselves. Okay, to be frankly honest, this bunch was rather weird. There wasn't a generic Genin among them.

"So basically there's this organization that we gotta take down and blah, blah, blah, it's kinda complicated so I'll just keep the description pretty vague. Don't kill me yet, though. We still have introductions to get through!" Toko's eyes widened for a moment at the sound of an organisation. Were they being serious? They were sending a bunch of genin after some kind of top secret ninja organisation? No, perhaps not. Toko could just have been jumping to conclusions. But he had to admit, it was rather exciting. "Now, I'd like your name, your likes and dislikes, and… your favourite season. Pretty simple, right?" Wait, what? What about the super secret organisation bent on destroying the world? Oh well, it would have to wait...apparently.

Seichi was quick to introduce himself, which was expected. After that Seji continued to introduce himself and this was presumably Toko's turn. "Hello." The boy spoke. "My name is Toko Ling." He tilted his head a bit, trying to place their new sensei. She was...weird. "I like sparring, cherry trees, flowers and summer." Wait, did Seichi tell her what seasoning he liked? Toko couldn't help but smile at that. The guy was just so cute. "I dislike winter and dishonorable warrior." He sighed softly resting his chin against his hand. "A pleasure to meet you, Sensei..." He finish, almost half heartedly.
