Should've known better...

Roy's defiant offensive gesture didn't surprise Travis but the speed in which the hunter carried out his attack was unexpected given the injuries that he had sustained. Nevertheless, this was a reply Travis was expecting though had hoped Roy would never enact. Just as Roy became within distance of actually stabbing him, Travis had activated his contingency plan; a Decamp spell. More than once did the former witch hunter hurl knives or try to stab at Travis when he least expected it; now that Travis was acquainted with Roy's maneuvers, responding to them was simple if planned properly.

The spell took effect immediately, thanks in part to the pre-flowing of mana in to his left hand. While nobody would notice it in the brief instance once fired, Travis' body would of quickly emanated a white glow, almost like a flash of artificial light. The spell itself was something he had picked up on while observing Raiya utilizing comparable spells and techniques. Given how uncommonly often he would be chased by cultists and hunters in the past, the ability to enhanced one's maneuverability became a necessity to him. Following Travis' mental instructions and desires, his entire form shifted several feet away from Roy, denying the hunter his kill though for only a few delayed seconds if he tried to continue his attack. Now with a fair amount of distance between him and Roy, Travis wasted no time and discharged all three of his runes at point-blank range.

His two lightning spells would have taken no time at all to strike Roy given the space between him and the source runes, soon followed up by Travis' backdraft rune a split second later.
My bad for stalling on the post. I was anticipating additional replies into the matter.
"I thought that would've been obvious," Travis replied, keeping his runes still trained on Roy, "you're in our way and as I currently see it, you don't have too many options at the moment."

Beginning a negotiation with Roy wasn't exactly the intended plan he had in mind but he believed that removing a threat from the field without expending any more of mana or strength was more efficient than continuing the fight. Morally though, he didn't fancy the idea of finishing him off given the lessened state he was now in. Travis casually shifted his posture slightly, only to show his right hand lengthened out and controlling the runic circles while his left was moved out of view. Knowing better however than to expect full honesty from the former witch hunter, Travis began channeling mana into his hidden hand as a contingency.

"Unless you want to try and prove me wrong right now, this would perhaps be a good time to surrender while you're still breathing."

Wow, that sounded a lot more minatory than I thought...
As predicted, Roy was forced to rush forward, bursting through gas produced by his grenade after it had detonated. Travis would have admitted that he hadn't expected such an approach from the ex-hunter but it made little difference in the end; Roy was initiating his attack. Still, with the amount of lead time he had planned and created, Travis was able to react fast enough this time the newest set of throwing knives. With only a second or two, he quickly raised his right hand and casted a repulsion spell just as the sharp point of the knife got within feet of him. A transparent sphere flashed out of his palm and rapidly expanded into the projectile's path, the knife itself was then knocked off course, spinning harmlessly until falling on to the deck.

It was then again that Zoey had responded from behind the scenes and delivered her own flurry of projectiles down towards Roy, finally stopping him in his tracks as he frantically attempted to defend himself. Travis watched in the instant as Roy took several hits from Zoey's attack, sending him to the ground. Though wounded with probably limited use of his limbs, Travis was nearly impressed as he observed Roy persisting to get back on his feet. However, it seemed apparent now that he was a assuming a rather desperate defensive posture, almost like a cornered beast baring its fangs, threating anything and anyone who came to close.

Travis materialized three additional runes before him. The center rune seeped heat and embers while the two that flanked it drooled the same dark clouds which loomed over them, faint instances of light pulsing within them. All three runes were aimed right at Roy and were on the slightest brink of firing if Travis even gave a mere thought about it - a sudden movement from his target could be enough to trigger the attack just as well. Though with the walls of ice keeping Roy in place, a discharge from any of his runes would never miss him.

Travis then called out to the ex-hunter, "Had enough?"
Critique me plz: Too OP?
Roy had responded with lobbing what looked like another grenade. It's technical purpose Travis couldn't immediately ascertain. It soon didn't matter as Zuri from behind reacted and casted a spell, brought forth from a summoned rune. A flurry of small energy projectiles raced outward from their origin point almost like hail during a storm.

Travis decided now was better than later as he raised his hand in front and summoned a larger number of runes than before. Two cryo runes flanked him on both sides, one right on top of the other. He immediately discharged them, causing the magical circles to vomit surging clouds of freezing gases. With the humidity on the rise thanks to the growing and intensifying storm, the spells effects were more potent than before. While he had meant them for Roy, Travis however aimed the runes away the hunter and instead towards his sides about a couple of meters apart. His strategy would soon be made known as two large walls of thickened ice quickly materialized in the plumes' path.

If anything, Travis wanted to deny Roy any opportunities and limit his options, keeping him pinned to only a single course. Additionally it would narrow Zuri's barrage down an icy bottleneck. For the moment, Travis believed his stratagem would prove effective and forcing Roy to approach head on. A blessing but a curse as well if Roy was allowed to close. Nevertheless, it seemed like a necessary gamble.
It appeared whatever apparition Travis had discovered was also noted by Roy whom quickly disengaged and sought a defensive action instead. Zuri's voice then resonated from the shadowy figure, assuring Travis of some unspoken plan before lashing out a series of dark waves toward he and Roy. Sharing the same expression as his assailant, Travis too anticipated the worse but instead found the would-be attack helpful as the dust that prevented him from casted spells was then blown away neatly. The particle surge of dark-energy was apparently nothing more than an illusion has we watched the waves phase harmlessly right through him and dispersed. Trickery aside, it had at least spooked Roy just as much as it did he.

After nearly grazing a shotgun slug, courtesy from Zoey, Roy quickly backed off and opted to distancing himself to a temporary but safer position. Travis drew in mana to his palms after lengthening them out in front of him with a few spells he had in mind to use but decided to reserve them for the moment. Regardless, he kept his eyes set on the ex-hunter, not wanting a repeat of the situation moments ago.

“Neither was trying to shank us.” Travis retorted.
I'll have a post up later this evening.
@ShiningSector Waiting on you before posting as Roy my guy.

My bad on the delay. I was a bit conflicted about posting regarding the limited actions I had presented.
Travis couldn't see the results of his attack so well but the sudden discharge of heat exploding ahead of his cryo spell likely meant that Roy has responded and countered as a plume of steam spewed almost everywhere from the point of impact. Travis wasn't a genius tactician but through the many run-ins with disciple witch hunters, he figured that Roy would take the opportunity to relocate and attack from a flank. The problem was however from which direction.

Travis frantically looked around for any trace or cues of Roy before the former witch hunter could pounce on him. It didn't take long for him to pick up on the activity that was occurring behind him. Something hard hit the ground followed by hastened footsteps approaching him. He quickly swung around as fast he could with a rune already beginning to form in his hand. However that spell would not come to pass as a billow of crystalline dust engulfed him. Another hunter tactic he was aware of but only after a brief moment after being covered in the stuff. He first found that the still-generating glyphs in front of his hand faded away and another second would go by until he found that Roy was already on top of him and bringing in a swing of his dagger at him.

With no real way to defend himself, Travis tried to desperately evade by forcing as much weight as he could behind him. Whether the maneuver would work or not was still up in the air as he pulled his forearms out to defend himself as a reflex of not wanted to be slashed. It was then at a mere split-second before Roy's weapon could reach him did Travis take note of something dark; pitch-black in fact was the entity that loomed over he and Roy.

Uh oh.
