Current Cleaning day! Made a ton of progress and even found my long lost DS and my missing laundry card that still has a lot of credits on it. Found it in my winter coat of all places go figure.

Finally got into D&D. Now I feel trapped and I am in love. Should I ask for help or ask where I can get more dice?

Breaks ups are weird. Not sure how to feel about the other person, or about yourself. It hurts for sure, but it's weird and uncomfortable just how different things seem now.

Despite it all June was at least making friends. She wasn't totally sure where she was, and she wasn't sure what exactly was happening today, and she was pretty sure the adrenaline in her system was forcing her to mask a positive attitude, but as a whole she seemed to be at least making friends. Gotta look on the bright side right? June watched intently as the first dude who checked in on her went over to help collect supplies, and thought to herself she needed to get a gun in her hands if things continued to spiral out of control the way they were. If she was able to do that she would be safe. Sure she hadn't handled a rifle in a few years, and sure she wasn't totally sure how she felt about using a gun in self defense, but she saw a dude she knew get ripped apart today. She would not allow that to happen to herself. Then, she saw the man fire the crossbow into the head of one of the... One of them. In that moment the sinking thought hit that there was a high likelihood she'd freeze up if it came to pointing a gun at one of them and pulling the trigger. She still hoped it would make her feel safe, but she wasn't totally convinced she could use one.

She remembered how Frankie used to keep a gun in his car. She wondered why she didn't do the same after all these years. Then she remembered that she is too much of an introvert to get a pistol permit in the state. There were other options, but the depressive state she was in after her father passed, it wouldn't have been good for her recovery. Nor for the many times she was pulled over for doing 98+ in a 55. Plus, in this situation a shotgun in the trunk of a car she wasn't sure how to get too without looking at a train map wouldn't help her much. She did however still want her car back.

Back to friends though, Billie had accepted the gummy worm with noticeable hesitation. And June wondered for a moment if she had an unhinged look going at the moment. It wouldn't be too out of the realm of possibility due too... well everything. June did realize she was staring at the poor woman rather intently the whole time she interacted with the gummy worm. From bag to chew June couldn't be totally sure she blinked... And now wondered if it would be weirder to break eye contact or too keep holding it. Keeping the forced smile up she quickly looked to the floor then back at Billie then around the back of the truck as a whole before speaking up. Trying to not make things weird, but knowing deep down it was far too late for that. "It's good to meet you Billie. Hopefully this whole nightmare is about over soon." She really hoped so.

When June heard the radio go off she realized she really didn't know how long she had been in auto pilot. Lizard brain survival thought process did a good job at keeping her alive, but it failed to keep track of... anything. But they had some time to get out, so that was nice. June took a moment to look at her phone and saw per usual, no notifications. Oh the life of an introvert with no family. A part of that was she didn't get notifications for anything other than texts and phone calls. Checking the corners of the internet for introverted nerds like herself she had more contact. But little direct, and less overall traffic than normal. It was... weird. Or a slow day. It was a work day after all, a lot of people in her circles still worked 9-5 jobs. Then again, for all she knows the whole world could be much worse off. OR! She is in the worst of it and had been subtly blocked from countless other accounts in an attempt to mitigate panic! But then wouldn't it be easier to block cell service? But what if that caused a panic? Then June realized she was rambling her ideas where no one could hear them, and debated bringing up some of her theories, then realized if she was wrong she'd cause a panic for nothing. So instead, she opened her mouth to speak and visibly thought better of it.

Sending off a text to a couple people back home to maybe get an update there, she waited and spoke over to Billie again. "Plus side to all of this, I don't think I'll have to pay for parking today. And, my car is outside of the heart of the city. Got something going at least?" She spoke awkwardly. With the whole random trail of thought she had going, that seemed like the most sensible thing to share. Then the gears began turning again, where would they go after this? "By chance do you know where we are going?" The random stuff she had on her weren't really suited to a survival or emergency situation. But she had nothing close by except said car, and the hotel room she was staying in outside of the city.

The truck was far from the most comfortable ride June had ridden in. Though it was definitely one of the biggest outside of maybe a school bus. In that regard, it made her feel safer than she had in a good while. Peeking down the road she took note of... Them. They were slow now, but it was a menacing slowness. An unstoppable force. Determined until the end. She turned to the woman who helped her into the truck and smiled warmly. A bit a mask as she tried to hide how jostled she was, but she was beginning to bounce back to some form of stability. "Shell shocked? That's not a term I've heard since middle school. But yeah it probably fits." She chuckled trying to add some humor to soften the darker moods. When offered food, she paused as if processing what was going on.

Her body had been in fight or flight mode so long, she was beginning to realize all the feelings she had been suppressing to get through the day. It was still morning when she left the conference center. Or so she thought. It seemed far later now... Just how much could happen in a day? "Now that you mention it, food sounds awesome." She looked into the bag of offered goodies until she came across some peanut butter crackers. Not only a good snack, a deceptively filling one at that. "Fucking dope." She exclaimed with a grin as she tore it open and began tearing into the crackers.

Manners snapping back to her she turned to the woman again and spoke up. "Apologies uh..." She wiped her hand off on her hoodie and reached into her cargo pants pocket, pulling out a rather large bag of gummy worms. "My name is June, it's nice to meet you. Want some gummy worms?" She offered in an attempt to socialize. Not one of June's strong suits, but she did her best to be kind where she could.

Kathryn had won the game. What game it was she couldn't be totally sure. But she had won! She got to drink, to dance, had turned foes into friends, and gotten to show off just how strong and fun she was. So yes, a win. "Monsieur Laurent I meant no ill intent, my apologies for the treatment. I thought we were having a jolly good time!" Kathryn exclaimed, but did try to pass on her apologies as best she could. Monsieur Laurent was a victim of chance and determination. Kathryn needed to slow down anyone going into the tasting room, and he was most persistent on going. He must be danced with. There was no choice! Kathryn did briefly tense, her smile erked hearing Monsieur Laurent call Kosara a pet. For a lot of people, that would end with getting knocked out. But that could be all the wine talking. And she had to remind herself that his words didn't mean that much to her anyways. She was pretty sure all those bridges got burnt anyways. Shame really... She would have really loved to establish herself with lands and power.

To her surprise, the bridges may have been burnt, but somehow at least one bridge still stood. Just one. A final chance to make things work. "Tarace Mosswater, You are a miracle worker with skills I could never hope to replicate. Thank you so much for your intervention." Kathryn spoke warmly to the halfling. She had no idea how he pulled off such a feat, but she was very impressed none the less. Tea, next week. She would need to prepare and study up. He was a traditionalist, so she may not be able to go in her armor. Should she bring Lizbeth? She was the closest to a squire she had. Maybe a page. But she was mainly learning to fight, not other noble duties. She'd ask Lizbeth how she felt about it. But it would also be a learning experience for Kathryn too.

Turning to Cecily Kathryn spoke up with a soft tone and a humbling curtsy. "My apologies for the night Madam L'Rose. I got carried away with my drink and had falsely assumed a pleasant time for all involved. I shall taper my actions from here. Do let me know if I can make up for these transgressions." Kathryn offered up her apologies in the most humbling tone she could muster. Though she turned a little indifferent to Laurent's night, she still wanted everyone else present to enjoy themselves.

Kathryn had to put on the illusion that she was shitface passed most of her reasoning. Which thankfully wasn't true. She just happened to be drunk enough to let loose, and was motivated enough to keep things going! Though if she wasn't careful with her drinking she may soon end up in a position of losing most of her reasoning skills. So far though? She still had a working thinker. So far! She had not busted her own ability to think and reason. Totally. Was she getting a little dizzy? Yes. Yes she was. But that could be expected with the alcohol in her system and the number of spins she had performed.

As Kathryn continued spinning around she spoke up to Monsieur Laurent as every wall got to share a frame for a split second. "Come on, admit it, you're having a great time!" Kathryn spoke gleefully as her voice raised 2 octaves as the excited woman attempted to keep her prisoner close. At this point Kathryn couldn't even be sure how long things had gone on, or how close or far she was from the door way. Or even for sure that everyone was still here in the room! Though she was mostly sure. Otherwise, she would need to learn to dance with multiple people at once. And that seemed rather tricky.

Kathryn did however notice Kosara passing by. She was mostly almost sure that the woman was trying to be sneaky, but overall couldn't be too sure. deciding to lean on the safe side, she kept to her self, and made sure that Monsieur Laurent wasn't facing Kosara's direction while the woman moved. She wondered if something important was going on if they were passing through the room rather than just exiting the tasting room? Did they need her help? She couldn't be too sure overall.

Once she was pretty sure the coast was clear, Kathryn spun Monsieur Laurent and lifted him high in the air hands under both of his arms and set him down, spinning him outwards holding tight onto one hand as she set up the man to be parralell to herself. Only once the two of them were facing the other wine tasters did Kathryn offer a bow. "Thank you, thank you, We'll be here all night." Kathryn spoke up with her overall tone much calmer and softer now that she had burnt off some of that energy. "Master Rens, Thank you so much for the music. It really lightened the mood! Now, where did we leave off again?" Kathryn said before a hiccup finished her sentence for her, and she began to let out a few drunken giggles.

Yesterday:
June sat patiently through today's event. Being an independent contractor she hadn't participated in these events in years. But doing work in a regional office for an information security company that shall not be named, part of the deal in her contract in return for a reduced pay and for a longer contracting term, was too get a pass to a string of events, programs, and training courses that would in theory boost her employ-ability. In today's market, that was always a win. IN today's market of huge tech layoffs, June made herself valuable in ways that could only be matched with skills alone. Plus, she hadn't visited the big city in some time. And she was having fun in her down time. Today's training was an introduction to a program meant to counter forced entry programs. An area of expertise June did rather well in. The concept of the program was simple, creating false positives that most common breaking programs could fall for, and alert an internal system or user that someone had attempted to break into the network. In practice, it was a bloated costly program that took so much processing power that using it for anything but the most critically sensitive information. Not really good for anything that needed regular access from regular everyday staff.

So she sat, she smiled, and did her best to not jump out the nearest window from boredom. And when today's lessons were done, the food was very passable! Not great, but it was at least made the same day. June spent much of her free time that she wasn't exploring the city working from her laptop shoring up older programs she had helped write and offer support to colleagues in her field. "Three password attempts to get in? You know they say the more complicated you make your security process the less secure it is." Frankie, one of the other people in this week's seminar. Like June, sent here to learn to make his skills more valuable. Though he worked directly for his company, and June didn't. But June would be expected to implement said programs and train company staff on how to use it. She was aware of what Frankie was talking about, but two wrong attempts to get into her hardware was by design. The amount of sensitive and personal information on her device meant it needed to be difficult to get in. Two failed attempts were signs that it was working. "You know I hadn't considered that. Oh please oh wise man of computers, do show me how the work I get paid to do is done." The woman spoke with a mock smile. She and Frankie had worked a few times over the years, and it wasn't a good work trip if they weren't going at each other. She wouldn't call them friends. But she tolerated his presence. And he was good at his work. He had helped her on a few brain prodding problems that she couldn't muster on her own, and she had done the same for him. They were both respectable professionals in their fields. "You? Getting paid? You barely work. Reminds me, a few of us here are going out to a fancy Chinese restaurant tomorrow night to catch up. You coming along?" June did perk up at this, paused, pondered, and chuckled. "What? and miss this? The fruit of me people?!" She exclaimed holding up a fork full of mashed potatoes, while doing her best Irish accent. "Yeah I'll be there, text me the address when you can. I gotta wrap up a couple side projects before the week is done but I'll make it."

Last Night:
Attempts to get lucky tonight were met with being brushed off, woman who couldn't tell the difference between flirting and compliments, and guys who took way too long to realize she was just not into them. She didn't particularly like clubs. But a few drinks in from a board game shop of all places and her confidence was through the roof! Until it wasn't. She was pretty sure she was getting through to this one woman who seemed to almost grasp she was flirting with her. But either due to June's inability to flirt, or this woman's inability to register it, they simply ended up talking about fantasy topics of all things. Elves, dragons, orcs, handsome men with swords. Yeah June wasn't winning here.

The night went well otherwise until at some point June had tripped when a commotion on the other side of the club had caused a bunch of people to rush towards it, knocking June over, and giving her mild head damage. She didn't pass out and she didn't find blood later, but that could be in part the gunshot going off jolting her back to her senses despite the alcohol in her system. Standing up and rushing out the door, she would tell the officer that talked to her and other witnesses that she didn't see much. Just heard the gunshot and booked it first chance she got. It would be a great night to get to sleep and move on with her life. Though she did realize she never got the name of fantasy girl, and that fantasy girl was nowhere in sight when she fell to the floor. Probably best things didn't work out.

This morning:
Today she thanked her ancestors for her inability to never get hungover. Though her body was fighting her a bit it felt more like a mild dehydration which soon faded. Going easily 15 over the speed limit, she booked it to the train station to get to her seminar today, finishing the 40oz water bottle part way into the train ride into work. She did however try to look up what happened at the club last night, only to have the news feed flooded with so many other random stories from the area that she couldn't find much of anything. That wasn't the only weird thing. She noticed that for once, she didn't have to fight for a seat on the train. The train was by no means deserted or empty, but the number of people forced to stand was considerably less than the rest of the week so far.

The same thought came about the seminar too once it all clicked. There were less people here today than yesterday. Not by a ton, but once she knew to look for it she noticed it. Again by the fact no one had to stand today, and she counted 3 empty chairs today. She hadn't spotted any empty chairs since the event began a few days ago. She found it funny how she didn't register that information until she was hiding in a hallway in the conference center after the attackers barged into the event. And she found more attacks in the lobby. Internally, she thought this trip started as a solid 8/10, but she figured it would get a solid 2.5/10 due to today's events. "Food was nice, complimentary water bottle is good quality, but the attack by the cannibals really put a damper on things." She thought in her head letting out a soft chuckle as humor attempted to shield the most vulnerable parts of her mind as she attempted to not freak out.

Peaking her head around the corner, she could see the lobby. It was a mess. At least 3 attackers. And she saw at least that many people not moving on the ground. What she could also see, was the front door. The streets. It was right there. Freedom. Then less than a block away, the subway she took to get into work. She could make it to grand central, then take the train back to her car and flee for home. Sure, outside could be bad but at least she wouldn't be trapped in a god damn conference center! Then she saw it, one of the building security guards. One of those bodies on the floor. She could see his belt from here, and saw the gun sitting on his hip. It would barely be out of her way, and she'd have a weapon to keep herself safe. Sure, she had fired a handgun maybe once in her life. Unless an airsoft pistol counted. But the concept of a gun was the same no matter what. Chamber, safety, trigger, bullets, lethal end. It made sense! A gun, and she'd be safe.

Then she saw Frankie making a run for it from somewhere out of her sight, making a strait run for the security guard, and likely his gun too. Great minds think alike it seemed. A friend and ally was also good, and as June stood up to run over and meet him she saw the string of horrid events take place. First, Frankie slipping on a thick wet substance on the floor that she told herself was water. Watching him trip and slide right into the side of the guard on the floor. Watching the guard sit up and sink his teeth into him despite his guts torn out. Watching the other standers and another one that was laying about move over to Frankie with blind mechanical determination. June wasn't sure how long she watched, but it was long enough to know that there was nothing she could do for her colleague. When the screaming stopped something clicked in June, that she still had to leave. By sheer dumb luck, Frankie had gone for the gun first, and had created an opening for June to escape. Had she been a bit faster, or him a bit slower, their places easily could have been switch.

Now:
June had no idea how she got to the Museum. She knew she ran. She knew she didn't make it to the subway. She knew that even though outside was safer than the conference center outside wasn't safe on its own. She had no idea how far she had gone, and she wasn't even sure which museum she was in. But sometime when her head started processing what was going on she began to put things back together. Frankie was dead. Fantasy girl was probably also dead. Home was a 7 hour drive away on a good day. She was scared and her ability to problem solve was immediately shot by her inability to really process what was going on. Running on auto pilot she almost didn't register when she was spoken too. After a few seconds as the lizard portion of her brain finally released some control to the rest of her, a smile broke through when asked if she was okay. "That is a rather loaded question my guy. But I am still here, so that has to count for something yeah?" Finally her brain began to process things again outside of "Survive right now" Now, her brain was allowing her to think again. Mostly. She found herself rather shaky still. Maybe a bit jumpy too. But she was alive. "How are you?" She asked almost instinctively as if this were any other social gathering before making her way out the door to the truck.

Things could be going a little easier. However, some things were going Kathryn's way! Kathryn had slowed down the other tour group despite her failed effort to dance with Cecily. Buying time, that is what she could do for now. Annick was on her way to get the others, and Kathryn was hoping it would be enough time. She also hoped she wouldn't make too much of a fool of herself in the process. SO far, she seemed to just be making a light fool of herself. Very manageable for a festive drinking night. Her true savoir? Craft Master Rens!

He was an expert at helping Kathryn get shit faced. Really helped buy into the too shit faced to limit her own impulsiveness! Fuck yeah. "Well if you think of a favorite of yours I'd love to hear it. As for the former master of wine... Keep a tab on that thought, I'd like to stay local for a moment so we can sample some of the stock here." She didn't want to accidentally bring her own group through and create problems with her party while they snooped. So, she'd keep them here for just a tad bit more. The man even came through when Kathryn's attempt to slow Cecily stalled out. That Champion of a man had come through, and offered up some music! "My Dude!" Kathryn exclaimed as Master Rens began singing. Kathryn's face was smiling so wide while she had the time of her life stalling. Despite not dancing with Cecily Kathryn was overall winning. Helping her people, drinking, and having fun while doing so! Not only could he sing, he could sing music that Kathryn wanted to stomp her foot too and throw people around in. Shame the lack of a dance partner would limit her options.

Monsieur Laurent was complicating things again. So again, Kathryn would have to attempt to woo her magic and Feminine charm. As he moved to circumvent the fun, Kathryn moved to intercept. Height alone when she moved she presented an obstical that was worth trying to avoid collision. She had a natural skill at herding people who didn't want to get crushed under her boots, and Monsieur Laurent was no exception as Kathryn spun herself in front of him. "You're leaving so soon? Such a party pooper!" Kathryn said trying to suppress a giggle. Taking a sip of the bottle that she had sampled earlier, she set it down wide toothy grin on her face. "We have wine and music here, so have a drink, and dance with me Monsieur Laurent." She spoke with the booze finally beginning to hit her, a soft hint of an elvish accent sweetly blending into her words as she spoke. Her normally sweet and reserved tone dropping an octave as drunken confidence took over.

When he agreed (More or less) Kathryn took both hands with a cheerful grin. "That's not a nooo!" Kathryn exclaimed as she sing songed taking both of Monsieur Laurent's hands in her own. The calicious doing wonders for the woman's death grip on the man's hands as she began dancing rather aggressively to Master Rens tune! "I have no idea the words to this song!" Kathryn cheered as she began to spin in circles in the storage room, her hostage forced to dance along as letting go could mean being sent off to gods knew where, and required the willing release from the half giant who just found herself a new play thing. Escape would prove difficult for even the most determined and skilled foe.

Things alas, could be going better. On the plus side, Kathryn was getting a ton of great wine recommendations! "Thank you so much master Rens, you do know how to treat a woman." Kathryn said warmly as she sampled each of the three wines. Two of the three she was pleasantly surprised! The third one out less so, but with a polite request she spoke up. "A glass of each of this one, and this one here would be perfect." She didn't dislike the third, but it wine was already a harder sell for the half giant. But two out of three for an enjoyable drink? That was a masterful skill. She did wish she had more hands, getting drunk at this rate was going to prove difficult. The news Annick brought helped and Kathryn worked down her two drinks much faster than she intended. The main relief being Annick agreeing to the plan. For whatever sort of plan it was.

"Master Rens, you do have a skill in flavors of wine. I was wondering how long you have been at this sort of work? I am not normally a big wine person myself but your recommendations have been on point so far tonight!" Kathryn said enthusiastically, trying to enjoy her time before the work aspect of things came into play. Finally a season of stability she could enjoy, and it was turning into a bigger and bigger mess. For fucks sake. But she had right now to enjoy herself! And if she was fortunate enough, she may not even have to slow down Cecily! She could get herself tipsy beyond reason, and enjoy the night with her date! Then beat BB at this game of horse's shoes the next day. Over bug meat and sweet treats with the moss waters! Things had the potential to turn out really well, especially if Kathryn didn't need to slow down Cecily.

Things couldn't stay on track forever. She heard Cecily's voice coming from the other room and knew the fun was about to end. Hiding her disappointment by downing the two glasses of wine she was carrying, she asked Master Rens another question. "What's you're favorite drink here? Without any pressure from making a sale I would love to know what the master wine maker enjoys the most, or is most proud of." Kathryn asked him enthusiastically, giddy like a small child in a candy store. As Cecily entered the room, Kathryn decided it was time to unwind, and do the best that she could to slow down the lady of the house. Grabbing one of the bottles of wine that she sampled earlier she took a rather large swig from the bottle attempting to drown out the stress of the situation, but pass it off as another silly adventurer moment.

Turning to Annick Kathryn spoke in a drunken and giddy tone that tried its best to sound like a serious noble lady. "My dear, would you be so kind as to grab my date so I can dance with her while I am still standing?" Kathryn spoke in her best noble tone, before giggles started breaking through and a childish smile poked through Kathryn's serious face. She wasn't that drunk yet, but sooner or later the alcohol she downed would kick in. Sooner or later she may have to be to pull off such deception. But it made anything she did here that much more believable if she showed signs of over drinking before she did anything too stupid.

As Cecily entered the room, Kathryn approached her bottle in hand, a silly grin on her face. "The woman of the night! Who we owe are thanks to for hosting such a pleasant event. And who brought all of us together through a rather strange fall, and through a surprisingly eventful winter!" Kathryn said in a tone that sounded like she was attempting to give a cheers, but was a little too out of focus to give it properly. Kathryn figured one way to slow her down was to openly celebrate the night with her! Nothing slowed people down from getting to where they needed to be like celebrating and dancing. Cecily seemed like she was having a decent enough time and wasn't in enough of a rush to turn down a dance. Kathryn, mistress of seduction, had this in the bag. With her free hand out, Kathryn offered it up to Cecily a warm smile on her face, eyes locked in on the woman. "May I have this dance?" This wasn't even attempted flirting. To be fair if Kathryn could simply slow her down by having fun then all the better. Cecily also didn't seem like the type to be into younger woman. But in this mood? Kathryn would dance with about anyone for any reason if they were nice enough.

Alas, Cecily didn't seem as into the idea of dancing at the moment. Citing the lack of music. Offering that maybe Victoria could come in and play some music! "That works out perfectly, I just asked Annick to grab my date. Maybe she can grab Victoria as well! We could all have our own mini ball in here!" Kathryn said excited like she was having the time of her life! "In the mean time, Master Rens? You seem like a great person in social events, any chance you know any songs? I know a couple myself but they're not exactly dancing tunes. Songs of tragedy, sacrifice, and hopes in new lands. All that fun and sad stuff. Sadly not great dance music." Kathryn said with a smile before being interrupted via a violent hiccup. "...ow..." Before she downed another swig of wine from the bottle to drown those evil hiccups in wine.

In that moment, a noise came from Kathryn's pocket. Faint at first, but anyone close enough to hear it could hear words. Spoken words, a call, a plea for assistance. The leader pocket on Kathryn's belt did a poor job at muffling the noises and words coming from the party's monk. Inches from Kathryn's weapon it was well placed to be drawn, and to quickly swap to said weapon and jump to action! The magic warhammer being an ideal tool for dishing out punishment to any poor sucker that happened to cross Kathryn's path while she was in a poor mood. Or worse, in an excited mood for a fight. Had the hammer, and the belt not been nicely set on Kathryn's bed with the bulk of Kathryn's kit. Rarely wearing much outside of her room except her armor, she wasn't sure the best place to keep it and all the spare belts while she was out. So it rested comfortably on her bed while she went out in her dress, sword belt on her hips while she drunkenly tried to slow people down. Should anyone have been in Kathryn's bedroom, they would have heard the magic stone. Had anyone been in the room with Kathryn's full kit, they may have been able to come to BB's aid immediately. Had Kathryn taken better care in being prepared, help would be storming down the road this very moment to flatten any poor bastard that would attempt to harm her sparing buddy. Alas, Kathryn wasn't in her room. She was a ways up the road trying to convince a nice woman into a dance. Ignorant of the plight of her friend.

Probably missed a thing or two (or six) so let me know what I gotta do to get this up to par and I'll make adjustments accordingly!

Kathryn was doing her best to keep herself from getting carried away. Alas, she was having fun. Just not too much drunken silliness. The medical woman Annick seemed to be really giving poor Rens a run for his money. Something something red put the poor man through his wits as he attempted to accommodate the wise woman. Wrapping up conversations with Barbal Mosswater seemed opened to Kathryn's proposal. "An afternoon tea with some evening treats I think would do wonders. And don't worry about acting the fool. I think I will have that under control at the rate of drinks tonight." Kathryn said warmly with a bit of a silly undertone to her words as the two began to part ways. "If you're open to a trade of some kind for more of the scales, I am sure we can work something out there too. But I couldn't dare just accept them outright. But I am sure we can come to an arrangement of some sorts. Over tea and treats though." Kathryn said enjoying her time as a professional social person for a change. And if that trade just ended up being sharing some treats then that could work too. But Kathryn had difficulties accepting gifts in place of nothing.

Rens being the master of wine he was had already found a wine to work for Annick! Wonderful! When he passed Kathryn a glass Kathryn gave a polite curtsy with her thanks, and with calloused hands gently grabbed the wine giving it a soft spin like Victoria showed her some weeks ago. Giving it a polite sip with a warm grin to show her satisfaction. "Normally myself, I lean towards beer, whiskey, and the occasional ale or Vodka. However, I think this is rivals my favorite drinks." Kathryn said pleased. "This was a wonderful find you acquired for us master Rens. No wonder you are the master of wines." She said warmly as she continued to sip. Probably finishing the glass faster then she meant too. Old habit broke hard. But she did drink it slow enough to enjoy the drink and its flavor.

When Annick left to grab something to warm up with, Kathryn found herself in a position to have ALL the drinking to herself! The temptation to grab a bottle and start chugging was 1000% present. However... she wasn't partying at home. She was out presenting herself and representing her people and party. No... there would be no chugging tonight. At least not here. "While she is out Master Rens, I would love another recommendation. Something sweet, but strong. With a prominent taste. Something that with a few solid sips can make a woman feel... Different." She said in a ponderous expression. "I don't have anything specific in mind. However I am curious what you could pick out. Maybe something fruity for the sweetness? But I am curious how strong local wines can get." Kathryn spoke definitely a little excited. She was having fun, tons of fun! But also she wanted to be tipsy enough that she could be called the most confident woman in the room. Alas, she was nowhere near that point. But it was also fun to show off how well she could handle her liquor when push came to shove. Sure, Kathryn could be humble and modest. But she enjoyed winning. And she loved praise too.

What Kathryn wasn't ready for was when Madam Annick returned. Taking a moment when Rens's attention was pulled away to likely look for Kathryn's drink, the medicine woman told Kathryn something that turned tonight from a fun party night, into a work night. "....mother fucker...." Kathryn mumbled under her breath. Trouble. The rest of the party was getting into trouble and there was a good chance they would need time. At least more time then they had. Kathryn stayed close to the medicine woman for a moment so she could speak softly to her as quick as she could. "Let's keep things going as normal. If we need more time I will get it. If Cecily tries to get the others offer to go in her place and tell her to keep an eye on me." There was an assortment of distractions Kathryn could pull off. She was physically strong and could physically move anyone or anything with enough time. And she could get stronger. She was mildly foggy while drinking, but so far still had her wits. She could get big, cause a ruckus, and buy time to wrap things up. She could act far more drunk than she was in an effort to slow things down and send Annick in to warn the party to wrap up. She could fake a faint. She could just go full drunken party lass so if Cecily tried to return, Kathryn could do her best to occupy her time. Again buying time for the party to wrap up, or for Annick to warn them. Kathryn had a good guess at what they were up too. That door... It peaked Kathryn's interest too. But she figured if they were going to sneak in it would be after the events of the wine tasting. Instead... Kathryn would act as a social barrier, and if needed, a physical barrier. She could pretend to get wasted, grow in size and lay down in front of the door back to the tasting room? She would have to play her cards well to draw attention without making it obvious that it is a distraction.
