In Depth Appearance:Peter stands at 6’2, with broad shoulders and a wiry frame. He is fairly muscular, but it isn’t too obvious or obtrusive at first. Until he takes his shirt off, that is.
He sports a handsome face with a broad jaw, usually covered in stubble as he prefers to not shave until it’s been growing for a good couple of days. It may grow even longer if he’s particularly tired, or has be solving problems night after night. When the stubble is short, you can see he has two dimples that appear when showing off his winning smile, a smile which lights up his entire face. Peter’s eyes are the bright blue of icy glaciers, which can become as warm as a summer’s day, or as cold as ice depending on his mood; as is common for those with blue eyes.
His hair is fairly short, kept tidy for the most part, and a dark chestnut color. It gains a golden taint when he’s been out in the sun for a while.
Although mostly clear, there are various scars (Some small, some a little more obvious) over his hands and body from past scuffles and ‘educational endeavours’, as he likes to call them.
Clothing Style:When it comes to fashion, Peter isn’t particularly hung up on labels. As long as it’s good quality and looks good on him; which, coincidentally, means he has to buy designer clothes. He’s rarely seen out of his usual jeans, which are either blue, dark blue, grey or black. Obviously he has things like sweatpants for working out, and swimming trunks and whatnot. Also owns some dress trousers should the occasion arise to wear them. In terms of tops, he likes to keep it plain and simple. Cotton t-shirts with sleeves of varying lengths depending on the weather, jumpers and turtlenecks for colder weather in either cotton or cashmere (He can’t
abide wool – way too itchy!), all in neutral colours like white, grey, black, and varying shades of blue. Again, has some plain button up shirts for nice occasions, and a dress jacket to go with them.
For outwear, he has hoodies of various colours and a couple of leather jackets for warmer weather, and a
heavier double-breasted coat for cold weather. Shoes consist of a few pairs of leather boots, some trainers for work-out sessions and whatnot, and dress shoes.
More often than not you’ll see him sporting
sunglasses, whether it be for sunny weather, or just because he’s hungover/got a migraine/both.
Likes:
- Trying to fix problems, be they logical ones with a definite answer, or personal ones, involving unpredictable people and their emotions.
- Custard.
- Proving people wrong and being correct.

- Ruffling his hair when emotional (Either positive or negative emotions cause this.)
- His fingers tapping in certain places, as if he were playing an imaginary piano.
- Driving way too fast.
- Hacking into things – just because he can.
- Muttering or exclaiming phrases or words in various foreign languages. (A favourite word among languages is ‘idiot’. In his mind, he encounters a lot of them.)

Over the years, Peter has developed quite the sardonic and cynical view in life. After witnessing so many people taking the wrong choices – when he can see the right ones so easily – he’s grown to expect negative outcomes from people unless he personally intervenes. Although never having met a Demi-God before, he holds the same ideal with them as an average, judging by the actions of mortals, and the equally disappointing acts of his Godly brethren. His genius intellect only fuels this cynicism, as he is so used to being the cleverest one in the room, he expects other people the give silly or idiotic ideas. This does make him rather cocky at times, but it isn’t a trait of his that he’s exactly proud of. Because of that, he listens to what other people have to saw, and even if he disagrees with what has been said, attempts to look at it from their point of view before coming off as some know-it-all asshole; a title he’s been avoiding his entire life.
However, if one were to goad him any way, his sardonic and patronising nature is one of his favourite ways to irritate and put people down. He can’t stand bullies or the like, so he’s extremely quick to stand up to him – be it for himself, or other people. Although he usually just uses a few, well-chosen words and an icy glare to get rid of the opponent, he’s no stranger to fist-fights if it comes to it. Although not an expert in fighting styles (One thing he decided not to study on his joyride around the world), he can place a few decent punches in, and is fairly quick when it comes to defence.
Beneath all of the cynicism and sarcastic jibes, Peter is, and always has been, a true gentleman. When you get to know him, he’ll go out of his way to make you happy and content, no matter the cost. Although the massive amount of wealth he’s built (somewhat illegally) over the years helps out with this, it’s obvious that when he does so, it’s a sign of generosity, not a bragging of his riches. In addition to this, he remains loyal to his friends, and when it comes to helping them, will not hesitate in throwing himself in harm’s way to make sure they stay safe. All in all, he’s one of the best – and witty – friends you could ever wish for.
Background:Despite his odd last name, Peter considers himself to be an American through and through. He grew up in America, and spent his entire childhood in Boston with his father, who worked at Harvard as a Professor. He had a good relationship with his Dad; both were intelligent (His Father with an IQ of 197) and competitive, so they were always pushing each other to learn more each day.
Fair to say, Peter was always top of his class as a young child. By seven years old, he was jumping grades due to his extensive knowledge in... well, pretty much everything. However, he requested to enter high school at the regular age, so as to fit in with his classmates. The teachers and his Father (Somewhat unwillingly) complied, so despite surpassing even the teachers in his knowledge, he had a somewhat regular childhood.
However, everything changed when he turned 18, and his Mother showed up on the doorstep of his and his Father’s home. Peter had asked in the past who his Mom was, but his Dad had always told him that when he left his native England with Peter, he left his mother behind. Considering Peter never felt she had made much of a gap in his life, he never dug deeper than that, knowing that his Dad didn’t like to think too much about it.
So, to have her visiting on his 18th birthday in her Godly glory, holding a frankly frightening spear and with a familiar spark of curiosity in her eyes as she beheld her son, was not something he was expecting.
Once he had gotten over the sight of having a Goddess in full battle armour and brandishing weapons on his doorstep, Athena and his Father sat him down to tell him who he truly was. A Demi-God, a Son of the Goddess of Wisdom and War. He took this in his stride, silently and reluctantly dispelling his previous Atheist beliefs as he realized that Gods did, in fact, exist. And were more than prominent in society today.
Although sorely tempted to question who the hell exactly she and the others Gods thought they were, messing with people’s lives when they could be stopping wars and helping humanity expand, he sat quiet while his Mother explained to him the perils of his life that had been unknown to him before, and gave the gift of the spear. He had to admit, he was pretty impressed with it. It was a truly beautiful weapon, with intricate carvings in the strong wood, and the obsidian spearhead glittering menacingly. Despite the fact it seemed made for him, exactly the right balance and weight, the aura it was giving off was not one of wisdom and mercy. This spear was clearly imbued with Athena’s darker side, and one that Peter was not tempted to trespass upon.
When she told him to name it (
“For all great and terrible weapons should have a name” – Yeah, thanks Mom.), he decided to go for an ironic one in naming it after the Norse God Odin’s spear – Gungnir. His Father’s side of the family, was, after all, originally from Sweden (As made obvious by his atrocious last name), and he always preferred reading about the Norse myths over the Greek and Roman ones. Not that he told his Mother that, but he noticed a slight smirk as he gave the Germanic name. He was surprised to see she had a sense of humour.
After the spear was given, hasty goodbye’s were doled out, and an almost pitiable and guilty glance given to Peter by Athena.
“My Son, I truly hope you never have to use this weapon. Despite my absence in your life, it would truly grieve me to find you have perished.”
“What, will this thing kill me if I use it?”
“I cannot know. None of us shall, until it is used. There has been no other weapon like it, nor will there ever be again. Use it wisely. I shall be proud of you, whatever you choose.”Deciding that that was the closest thing he was going to get to ‘I love you’, he decided to not contest it. After she left, things between his Father and himself got a little rocky.
As his graduation from High School swiftly approached, his Father kept pressuring him to apply to different colleges around America. Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Princeton, Yale... Yadda yadda yadda; you get the picture. However, despite his high intellect, and pretty much guaranteed place at any of those Universities, Peter wasn’t interested. He didn’t want a Degree or Diploma – he didn’t want to become a Doctor or Professor like his Dad. After that visit by Athena, he no longer wanted to go and be the genius son of the genius parents; because that’s what everyone would expect of him.
After telling his Father repeatedly to leave the subject alone, Peter finally admitted that he hadn’t applied to any Universities after his graduation. He didn’t want to study – he wanted to go out and travel, learn the things he wanted to learn. Fair to say, his Father didn’t take the news well. A few nights after this, and endless arguments between the two, Peter left home, ready to start a new life.
Peter’s first port of call was Las Vegas. Before anything, he needed to work on his people skills. And when I say people skills, I mean how-to-con-people skills. He picked up some basic – and more intricate - hustling tricks in Las Vegas, using them to gain plenty of money in the mean time.
As he travelled around America learning new things, he picked up plenty of skills; by now, he’s fluent in 8 separate languages (English, Farsi, Chinese, Swedish, Greek, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese; he also knows a couple of curse words and pick up lines in French, German and Russian.), an expert in theoretical physics, computing, electronics, biochemistry, engineering, mechanics, weaving, and making the perfect soufflé. (The last two were to impress a girl, only to find out he quite enjoys both of these things.)
After two years on the road in America, he decided to branch out for two reasons. One; he was getting bored, and wanted a change of scenery. Two; he got into a rather large patch of trouble with some dubious characters in LA, and needed to leave the country for a while. His first port of call was Europe, then Africa, then Eastern-Asia, and finally, the Middle East.
It was in Iraq that his Mother met up with him, in a manner just as surprising as the last time. Although impressed with all the knowledge he had learnt over the last few years, she demanded that he returned home to America in order to go to one Olympus Academy in Utah; it was there he would find the ultimate source of learning about his heritage, and he would perhaps gain answers for questions he had had about himself for a while.
Deciding that it would be unwise to ignore his Mother’s wishes, he did as she asked, and now finds himself back in America, going to school once again.
Extra: Ironically enough, his favourite God isn’t Greek, but Germanic; he does like Loki. He always liked him in the Marvel comics too. However, if he had to pick a Greek one, it would be Dionysus. He knows how to start a party, and was more than inventive in his punishments for people.
Godly Parent: Athena
Relationship With Godly Parent:Frosty, judging the fact that the few times she’s actually bothered to visit were to either:
a) Hand him a pointy stick of death with unpredictable results, and
b) Tell him to go back to school like a good little boy.
However, he secretly hopes that perhaps things between can grow. He does want to make her proud, no matter what. He holds the same ideal with his Father – although they haven’t talked in over five years, they keep minimal contact with one another through postcards and whatnot, just to assure each other that they are alive, and that love, is in fact, still there.
Godly Abilities:Genius Intellect; One could theorise that Peter gained his high intelligence from his Father rather than Godly mother, but with an IQ of over 200, it’s hard to ignore the fact how his intelligence could be anything but otherworldly. Although he doesn’t know the answer automatically like his half-sister, he’s done enough work in enough fields to eventually work out the answer.
Fast-learner; On top of his high IQ, Peter has always been highly successful in learning things. Although not exactly a photographic memory, once he puts his mind to learn any kind of skill or set of information, he does so in an astounding set of time. For example, he managed to write and speak fluently in Farsi in a matter of weeks.
Wrath of Athena; As many sometimes forget, Athena is a Goddess of War. Although her focus is mainly on strategy and coming to diplomatic solutions (Another thing Peter is rather good at), she is ruthless when the time arises; as Peter can be. Gifted a present by Athena on his 18th birthday (The age at which Spartan boys would become military cadets, and learn the arts of War), she granted him a beautiful spear, with a head of Obsidian and a 6-foot shaft made of the strongest carved oak. Naming it Gungnir – after the spear of Odin – he was told by his Mother that if the desperate situation should arise, he is to stab himself with the spear to unleash the great power she has unlocked inside it. She said that it would help win any battle or war, but at great cost, so it should be used wisely.
