Punching out Nazis and wrestling a yeti, sitting at home with some festive Spaghetti, rigging my boots up with high-power springs... These are a few of my favorite things!

Still trying to figure out whether the Crusades qualify as actual wars, or a steaming hot mess of clusterfarkery best accompanied by the Benny Hill theme...

Love Dead by dawn, but I haven't seen the other movies in the series. Would that be a problem?

All you need to know is that there are ghost zombies and that Ash is too badass to wear anything other than a blue flannel shirt at all times forever. And in one of the movies he makes his hand into a chainsaw. Except Ash likely won't be in this as a PC, so all you need to know is Ghost Zombies, probably.
You guys are having alot of fun with this idea huh? Also I'm staying away from native american stuff, I'm afraid I just don't know how to pull that off without falling into a stereotype of some kind.

The best way to avoid stereotyping something is to look up a culture on google, read from a reliable source, and then imagine what it'd be like to be of that culture. Then mix-and-match personality traits to make sure you're staying well away from Tonto from the Lone Ranger, and you'll be fine and nobody'll be offended. Don't be afraid of writing about a Native American, avoid Political incorrectness, and you'll be fine. As a human, you have a lot more in common with people of other cultures than you might think. It's just the same getting over the 'Girl Hurdle' with most male writers. Girls are much the same as male characters, they just have different concerns and nuances. It's an offensive stereotype to use "Girl" as a personality trait (Read: most interpretations of Amy from the Sonic games, because I doubt Team Sonic has ever talked to one in their lives. OHOHO!) but as long as they're a girl and more than that, they're perfectly fine. Mr. Miyagi is an Asian who speaks in broken English, knows Karate, and odd folk medicine, and that would normally be an offensive stereotype on its own, but he's more than a wise old martial-arts-slinging hermit, he's a car repair man, he's a Vietnam vet, he had a wife and possibly children, and a legitimate personality.

TL;DR: It's not hard to avoid stereotyping Native Americans if there's more to their character than "Native American", and given that she's a bongy Geisha with tentacle powers anyway, I'm pretty sure you're in the clear here... I know you've already done your CS, just don't let the fear of doing wrong hold you back, because it's highly unlikely that you'll actually do wrong, unless you let Tumblr share its opinion on the matter, in which case most people are Klansmen.
While it's not really related to text roleplaying, I really feel the need to express my grievances (for the umpteenth time) at how completely de-emphasized and degraded Roleplaying has become in some of my favorite gaming franchises... Well, really, I just want to gripe about the voiced protagonist in Fallout 4. Well, really, I just want to gripe for 10 minutes about whatever comes to mind and not really follow a specific point...

But are the Old Ones really Western so much as they are Midwestern-African, Asian, Middle-Eastern, South Polar, and every other place H.P. Lovecraft hated? She should have Aztec blood-sacrificing powers. Or a mob of literal Buffalo soldiers. That's far more of a western mix.
FINALLY GOT A BETTER IDEA!

I still wanna do east vs. west but I'm kinda mixing the two a bit.

So I was thinking I would do a geisha but with a bit of weird cthulhu powers mixed in

She will be a mix of crazy and maniacal

Oh, right, because all Asian girls like tentacles. You fucking racist.
Again, I reiterate, I did not say anything about the players actually rolling dice.

Also you didn't address breaking the fourth wall which is something else entirely.

I'm of the opinion that characters with large amounts of meta-information are generally only consistently funny/entertaining in Webcomics about Dungeons and Dragons. Wouldn't mind the occasional nod to something being off about reality, but I wouldn't appreciate full Deadpool.
Well of course, he's a psycho ninja. Ninja villains, as Wise Sensei Hollywood teaches us, deal only in edges. Righteous, righteous, edges, often with very little regard for the things ninjas actually did. Like, y'know, spying, sneaking around, avoiding conflict... Strategizing...

Of course, if he'd rather do the vampire thing in Native American form, he could be a Wendigo, which has more or less the same powers, but with a noticeably more diverse diet. Or, if he wanted to go further south, he could be an Aswang, which is pretty much a typical vampire but lunar-powered and sometimes cut in half. Or, speaking of Natve American myths south of the border, he could go full Camazotz... But we already have an insane vampire god on the team... Either way, they're monsters and not ethnicity-specific, so he could avoid stereotypes while aligning himself with the mythology and culture somewhat.

Jus' spitballin'.
If you're into crazy ninjas, why not combine the evil ninja and evil shaman and create a Ninja death cult of Native American influence, who, due to death-fist-witchcraft-related chemical imbalances, their top assassin went on a journey with ayahuasca and never quite came back? And then he became... Johnny Depp, the Ninja...
Is there any give to the rule on one protagonist? The very appeal to the fantasy characters I have in mind is that one's a Blood Knight and the other's a Paladin and they're dating. If not, I'm sure I'll come up with someone else. However, if you're into anecdotal evidence, I have played in a similar "Everyone GMs" freeform like this, where multiple protagonists were allowed, and it ran just fine. As long as there's good characters, and people can stay in those characters and keep their GM selves separate, it's a whale of a time. Of course, if you're trying to keep the adventuring party from becoming an adventuring army I could understand, but this is a large group roleplay, so that might end up happening regardless.

I guess there is a litany of problems that come with multiple characters, though, since I guess they can be tough to differentiate in narration sometimes and maybe things get weird if they're in wildly different locations. But I won't argue with the rules or attempt to change your opinion. I get the sentiment behind that rule, and what you say undoubtedly goes. All I can say is that I'm up for some awesomeness and definitely interested. ^.^
