"Up to" says very little. It's what you usually do and, in my book, how much you reasonably advance the story in that word count that is more enlightening. I assumed up to was a regular thing, but you're leaning pretty heavily in that past tense there, so who knows.

It's a very subjective term, really. What is actually "advanced" is as changeable as underwear, unless you try to use an objective scale - at which point, good luck making that scale the standard.
I feel like multiple replies so far have missed the scope of the OP.
2k words plus, by the abstract metrics of the site that have built on the far weaker metrics provided by the forum descriptions, would place you in the 'advanced' category provided those are 2k words of substance. It doesn't really matter, but yeah, that's the level I'd put you in.
