Current There's a big old heat wave spreading out down here. If I'm slow with responses, it'll be because I'm melting.

Dylan nodded to Darcy as she told them what to do and picked up his share of the cameras before making off after her. They journeyed into the foyer, the shadows growing thicker as the night wore on. As they ventured into almost total darkness he took a torch out of his pack and lit it, the bright yellow light providing a welcome - if small - relief from the blanket of darkness. The asylum was darker even than the night sky that could be glimpsed through the broken windows; the darkness denied even the starlight from entering its domain. In spite of this, Darcy remained ahead of Dylan, as if the darkness didn't bother her at all.

He had seen this state of hers a few times over the course of their friendship. He wasn't sure what it entailed but usually just let her concentrate. It was usually harmless and she'd break out of it eventually. This time, however, was different. As Dylan shone the torch ahead, Darcy suddenly stopped and clutched her head. In a rush, Dylan set down the equipment and rushed to where she was.
"Darcy, what's wrong? What's happening to you?"
yeah
Dylan nodded to Connor. Splitting up was usually unwise in a horror movie, but this wasn't a horror movie. If it was dangerous to be in the asylum they probably wouldn't have been allowed in. Probably. As he shone the torch towards the left part and couldn't help wonder if it was really that safe. But this was a once in a lifetime opportunity for the group and he didn't want to let his friends down.
"Hey Nora, how many cameras do we have to set up?" Dylan asked.
Dylan could see that there was something... off about the asylum. Maybe it was leftover adrenaline from the scare he had been subjected to just moments earlier but he felt like he was being watched. It could have just been him, but Darcy seemed to be feeling something too. So, he decided to try lighten the mood a bit.
"Yeah, this is pretty spooky, but I'm more worried about the Jason and Nora jumpscare house right now." Dylan said to the group.

He got a torch out of his pack as Nora took hers and began scanning the area.
"Got a floorplan or anything like that?" He asked Darcy. "If you don't we might have to split up to look around."
Would you be cool if I joined?

Yeah, we're still open far as I'm aware. You can hit up the discord if you have any questions.
Dylan turned as Connor arrived and shot him a quick grin.
"Hey Connor, you're right on time." He said to him.
Connor wasn't his best friend but he knew how to find good movies, and Dylan was happy to see him after so long. This was shaping up to be a good night.
"Just waiting on Nora and Jason to get here. Not sure what's taking them so long."
Alright, got a sheet. Feel free to tell me if it needs changing.

Dylan regarded the exchange between Darcy and the cop, careful to keep his expression neutral. He had thought that they would just enter the asylum on their own volition, just like they used to. He wasn't aware that Darcy had gotten permission for this, and he wondered how she did it.

"Hey Darcy, what exactly did you tell them we were doing here?" He asked.
He wasn't sure if they would have given her the go ahead if they knew what she wanted to do. But, then, he wasn't a beaurocrat.

Dylan walked out to the gate and crouched down, setting his backpack on the ground before inspecting the lock. The padlock was large and rugged, made to last for a long time. But the locking mechanism itself in these kinds of locks was often not as safe as the rest of the lock. He picked up the padlock out of darcy's hand and looked into the keyhole to confirm his suspicions. It seemed standard, but there was only one way to make sure.
"Just give me a minute, shouldn't take too long." He said, reaching into his backpack once more.

He got out his set of lockpicking tools and put the torch in his mouth before opening the case and picking out an appropriate lockpick. He looked for his tension bars but it seemed like he'd forgotten to put them back into his kit that day. Frowning, he fished around in his bag for a screwdriver instead. Tools in hand, Dylan started to pick the lock. The lock body had protected the mechanism from the elements and the rain was light enough to not disturb his work. Soon enough the lock opened with a heavy click, and he eased the lock out from the gate.
"Done." Dylan said, putting his tools back in his bag. "Hope you're all ready to case the joint."
He was holding on to the lock for now, he'd put it back in the gate later. He shouldered his bag onto his bag and was ready to go.
