If you know anyone, I would love to do it. The concept is that we're all sort of world-building and running our own show. The man who plays, say, the Baron Marshall and his troops can fuck with the peasant characters and so forth without really needing to add credence to the overall plot - which is the young Baron Roger filling his father's place.

My perception is that, in this timeline, the Germans (North Germans especially) view themselves as the only people without a Nation. Deprived of a birthright by the Emperor in Vienna or, alternatively, the King in Berlin.

Sounds good to me. Since the consensus seems to point towards us wanting to do the North Germans, I'll go ahead and make an appropriately-themed OOC to fully immerse ourselves within their worldview. As such, the RP will henceforth be known as "Der Bundeskrieg."

I'm going to have us come from Prussia. I believe it makes the most sense since they would by far-and-large be the most dominant force in the North States.
