"There's always next year."

"We didn't make it into the tournament because you two decided to go off on a trip."

"Ahaha...Calm down, Fu."

"Don't tell me to calm down! This isn't alright, you guys aren't serious about Pro-bending and you blew our chance to make it big!"

Passing people watched as the three argued among themselves outside of the arena. They stood next to the railings that separated the building from the sea. The only female of the group rested her chin on the railing as she looked out across the water. The sun was beginning to set, coloring the water orange and gold. Behind her the two males bickered about their reasons for not being in the last tournament.

"We didn't blow our chance. We didn't feel like we were ready to compete yet and we even offered to take you with us but you flaked out."

The two men turned towards the girl as she stood up and rubbed the red spot on her chin.

"What do you mean you didn't feel like we were ready?" Fu, the earthbender of their bending group, the Badgerfrogs, asked. He had a short fuse and often argued with his teammates. They tolerated his behavior because he was their friend but lately his attitude had been wearing them down. "You guys might not have been ready but I was!"

"Watch your voice, Fu. Ukik doesn't need to get yelled at, not before a match."

Their little group had started on the small underground circuit of pro-bending and had gained some sort of local fame among those that lived in the back alleys and run-down buildings. They were the underdogs despite having been competing in the arena for a little over a year; the Badgerfrogs rarely made appearances within the arena, as they preferred to practice rather than face another team.

"Don't tell me what to do!" Fu yelled as he tore away from the group. "And quit holding me back!"

"Holding you back? Houjin...have we been keeping him from his potential?" Ukik asked as she looked at her other teammate.

Houjin, the firebender, shook his head. "I don't think we have--" He was interrupted by Fu.

"Just because you guys made the group doesn't mean that you can dictate it!" Fu's voice was growing louder and it had begun to attract more people. They watched from a distance, whispering about the team. Some knew who they were while others had no clue.

"We aren't-" Ukik was interrupted in a similar manner to Houjin.

"I'm sick and tired of this!" Fu tore off the simple pin that Ukik had made for her teammates to wear. It skidded across the ground before coming to a stop at the base of the railings. The girl quickly scrambled to pick it up. She held it tightly as she shot a glare at Fu.

"Are you leaving us?"

Fu gave a firm nod before storming off. He pushed a few people out of the way as he went.

With large sighs of disappointment, both Ukik and Houjin sat on the ground with their backs pressed up against the railings.

"What are we going to do now? Our match is in a half hour and Fu is gone."

Houjin wrapped an arm around the girl before resting his cheek on top of her head. "We'll figure something out, I promise." Houjin was always her rock (which was kind of ironic) and he always made things better for her. Ever since they had first met years ago, Houjin always looked out for her. Houjin looked down at the girl before looking away quickly to scan the crowds. Maybe they could find a replacement, at least for this match. He would find a way to fix this for the both of them. It wasn't every day that your friend leaves you high and dry. They would work through this together, just like they always did. Houjin was just as upset as Ukik was that Fu had left them but he wouldn't show it. This wasn't the time to mope around and feel sorry for themselves, they had to find another teammate.
Alright. I will have it up later :)
Yay~
You can if you want. :) But I can always get one up later.
Ukik

19 | Mixed - Northern Water Tribe and Earth Kingdom
Water Bender / Healing sub-class
Despite having an almost masculine sounding name, Ukik is a female. She's on the shorter end of the height range, standing at a grand 5'2" tall. Her mixed ethnicity is expressed through the color of her eyes; as they are green rather than the traditional blue or gray. Ukik wears her dark brown hair in a simple braid with a large blue bead to hold it together. She has smaller locks of hair in front of her ears that are decorated with matching blue beads of varying sizes (four beads total - two small and two medium sized). Her clothes are a simple knee length blue skirt, dark blue half-sleeved top and black shoes. She almost always is seen wearing a pair of bracelets.

Houjin

21 | Fire Nation
Fire Bender / No sub-class
In Houjin's younger years he had often been teased for his height and being a bit of a bean pole, but over the years he's filled out and rarely do people ever call him a bean pole (or anything other than his name for that matter.) Houjin, unlike his tiny team mate, he can actually reach the top shelf, he stands at 5'11" (much to the envy of Ukik). Houjin wears his black hair long and ties it up into a top knot for special occasions. Houjin's clothes are a simple red long sleeved shirt (that hides scars from failed attempts at training) with a high collar, black pants and shoes. He also wears a simple gray colored vest over his shirt on occasion. Houjin has a very prominent mole on his left cheek and he has one ear pierced up at the top.

Here it is~
Finally got a post up! I didn't know if you wanted to skip to the morning or not...so...
Triver sighed as he looked down at the simple cup that had been set down in front of him by one of the serving maids. She was a pretty thing; short cut curly brown hair with dark brown eyes and a kind, dimpled smile. Triver had fancied the serving maid at one time but she had caught the eye of another and had become the man's mistress for some time before being left with a bastard son. His plate had gone untouched aside from his occasional stirring.

"You must eat." Garrod said from his spot across the table. His plate was piled high and there were bits of food stuck in his beard. "You've had a long day. I know that violence is not your thing, Prince Triver, but please do not be troubled by what you saw today." Garrod was a battle hardened man who had seen friends die and might have been close to death himself at one point in his life. His words, although cold, were spoken from the experience of a warrior.

"I do not feel hungry." Triver sank lower in his seat, mindful of the faint scar on his arm. His tunic sleeve had been torn off at the shoulder, leaving him with a bare feeling. "I cannot feel hungry after seeing men die today...and..." Tears welled in his eyes but he was quick to wipe them away before reaching for his cup. He needed to distract himself from the images that flashed behind his eyes. Rough material brushing against his side caught his attention. Turning to face the left, Triver was greeted by the sight of his half-sister. She had pulled her hood down before reaching to untie her heavy cloak. It crumpled down to the floor behind her before she leaned against Triver. She had helped heal the remaining people who had been injured in the scuffle or those that had come from the infirmary to watch the trials. Ser'deni gingerly placed her hand on his cheek. "It will be alright, please eat."

Triver brought a hand up to run his fingers through her long dark tresses. If his father were to be there then he would have kindly asked the woman to move away from him. He knew that healing was not her strong point, it never had been and she had exhausted herself with the events of the day. Garrod gave a small smile as he watched the two. He was one of the very few who had known the truth behind the black haired woman. Garrod was also the king's childhood friend, the son of the former Head Knight and his wife who had served as Lady-in-Waiting to the previous queen. The passing knights and servants brushed off the sign of affection in fear of angering the prince (who would then tell his father, who would order their execution.) Triver passed her a roll before deciding on taking one himself from the basket in the middle of the table.

"Why can you get him to eat?" Garrod asked with a slightly annoyed expression.

The mage gave a light chuckle before sitting up.

Triver paled slightly as she told Garrod the story of how the last time he had refused to eat, she threatened him with one of her flying friends. Of course she would have never carried out with the threat but Triver's declining health at the time had her worried and the boy had the stubbornness of a stone wall. And it went unspoken that the prince and mage were fairly close to one another; they calmed each other down and cheered each other up when they needed it.

Garrod shook his head before taking a drink of his wine. "I will never understand you two."

Triver looked around the room until he found the two victors. He excused himself while he went over to them. "Congratulations, you both did well." Triver said to them with a slight smile.

He made up his mind at that moment. They would become his knights, after this he would inform his father of his decision.
My post will be up tomorrow night~
